In all honesty, @deeahgwitch , I've never worn a kilt or tartan clothing of any kind, past childhood! Never been my thing, but if it's a happy memory for @justasking111 ......

I've been banging on about pearls for years on here have always worn them. And finally they're back on trend. Catherine looked gorgeous in a tartan skirt one winter.

Ugh, I got drawn into the thread in the royal family section on William not attending VJ Day (for what it’s worth I thought it was pretty poor him not doing something) however the thread was awful. So aggressive. What a bun fight.

Best to stick to this thread and avoid those as no one comes out of them well!

Here's Queen Jetsun, elegant as ever, in a traditional outfit. I like Nguyen's very striking blue dress. I thought the colour was a bit much, but she carries it off.

One of my mother's favourite stories was 'When I met the Queen'. It would have been in the 50's and she was looking at gloves in Harrods when a very smart and respectful woman approached her and enquired ('asked' is not the right word) whether she would be offended if she asked her to step aside so 'a very important person' could take her place at the counter? Intrigued, my mum backed away and was graciously nodded at by the late Queen who took her place, choosing 2 pairs of fine leather gloves which her L-in-W accepted gracefully (no payment, obviously) and then both swept away. My mum endeavoured to buy a similar pair but the assistant denied any such transaction! The nodding and the eye contact became embellished by her over the years and it stayed a treasured memory.
(A derail but just comes under Royal Style?!)

That blue dress is stunning! Vietnamese silk and tailoring is gorgeous.

It is, always beautifully done. I have a traditional silk blouse that I bought in Vietnam and it's very simple, but the cut and fit are superb.
