I’m seeing loads of people wearing them but they still look like old people’s shoes to me! They look super comfy though so may invest in a pair.

Oh see now my interest has been piqued again. Please tell me how they help your back.

And are they shaped similar to the Dr. Scholl sandals inside?

Edited

I have worn both, birks are more comfortable than Scholl.

Both have a contoured insoles but the birks are a bit more shaped and the Cork footbed is more shock absorbing than wood, it also moulds slightly to your foot whilst still being supportive. The lack of heel rise in the birks is also good for your posture.

I had a pair of black ones and desperately need to get some more bc my feet are very uncomfortable in this heat. Now, if only i was allowed to wear them at work in food service.....

They do a whole range of workwear clogs including specific shoes for nursing and food service. If I was on my feet at work I would absolutely get them.

Ok, so I've just discovered that I am a birkenstock hoarder (once I dragged them all out), as you can see by my photos. I also wear Mephisto brand..very similar. I've never paid full price for any of them, though. I find them on offer at the birkenstock shops or new from ebay, poshmark, or Mercado. Ive been wearing them for 35 years. Back in the 90's, they had a lot more colourful styles! My favourite are the denim ones.

I find the Betulas and Memphistos don't offer the same arch support as original Birkenstocks though.
It's the cork that makes all the difference.

Oh, I hadn't noticed a difference, but judging by the sheer number of birkenstocks I have, I must subconsciously feel a difference. I only buy the mephistos if they are a really good price, and then only wear them occasionally.

Lucky you can wear different ones. I can only wear the Arizonas for some reason. Wish I had a big collection too.
