I’m seeing loads of people wearing them but they still look like old people’s shoes to me! They look super comfy though so may invest in a pair.

My dd swears by them whereas I prefer Clark’s sandals with buckles and backs myself. Everyone has slightly different feet so comfort varies

pineapplesundae · 05/07/2025 06:08

Not until you break them in and that can take a while.

OlympiaOzempic · 05/07/2025 07:49

Mine 'fart' sometimes, quite embarrassing really.

Baconking · 05/07/2025 08:34

They've been in fashion for over the 30+ for years but recently teens are wearing them with socks so are now 'in fashion'

CapaciousHag · 05/07/2025 09:34

Just before Christmas I found myself behind a middle aged man and his student age son briskly walking up the hill, loaded with their Christmas grocery shopping. They were both beautifully dressed - and both wearing the exact same Boston clogs with crunchy grey socks.

Leedsfan247 · 05/07/2025 09:44

Overrated over priced

Noononoo · 05/07/2025 10:01

They are for real women. But no fakes oh no. I bought my first pair in the 80’s from an independent shoemakers, run by women, in Leeds called ‘made to last’. They ordered them in from Germany. Expensive but for a reason of quality and workmanship. Still got them plus many new ones over time. They are your friend, moulded to every imprint you have ever made. Never happier than when in my birks. Thought it was hilarious when they featured in the Barbie film. Brilliant film. They are code. No one else can wear your Birks. They could open your smartphone.

ToadRage · 05/07/2025 10:09

I've seen them around over the years and always considered how deeply unattractive they are. I am obsessed with shoes, i love shoes and have had all sorts over the years but two that will never grace my collection are Birkenstocks or Crocs. Mules have never been a fave as i have narrow and shallow feet so they often fall off, i would forever be tripping and gripping the shoes with my toes which makes them ache after while. Never saw the appeal of Birkenstocks when you can have pretty, strappy, comfy gladiator sandals that stay on.

Floisme · 05/07/2025 10:24

I wouldn't say I love mine. They're ok and I've not seen anything better - that's about as far as I'd go.

But then my view is that, the prettier your sandals, the funnier your feet look.

BunnyLake · 05/07/2025 10:31

My 22yr old has a pair.

My 22yr old has a pair.

My 17yo bought the Primark version of the Arizona EVAs. Loves them.

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 05/07/2025 10:40

I had a pair of black ones and desperately need to get some more bc my feet are very uncomfortable in this heat. Now, if only i was allowed to wear them at work in food service.....

Onemorepenny · 05/07/2025 10:49

I like mine but have not so recently bought their plastic version for pottering outside and found them to be pretty good.

Luddite26 · 05/07/2025 11:03

Just where have you been?

ChiliFiend · 05/07/2025 11:07

W0tnow · 04/07/2025 05:01

I just cannot keep them on my feet without gripping with my toes, no matter how tight I have them.

Same!! With all shoes in this slip on style.

Oblongofdreams · 05/07/2025 11:21

They've never been out of fashion! (For me at least) I buy a pair every couple of years and wear them daily from April to September!!

No 😳
I can imagine a number of my friends who would rather go barefoot on hot pavements than ever wear those! 😱
Personally I get flashbacks to my weird christian (yes small 'c') foster parents who'd wear these all the time , except to church ... 🫣
My school mates would call them Mary Sad-u-lin and Judas iCar-Lot ...
Cue deep trauma for me ... 😒

I discovered mine did too when invigilating an A level exam…. Had to walk around bare foot.

I find them to be, yes. Walked the dog for a couple of hours yesterday and had no problems. In fact, it was like walking on air!

I take it your dog isn't a nettle-and-brambles enthusiast like mine.

She is, but this was a walk along the harbourside and through the town! Definitely not suitable shoes for woodland walks!

Middlechild3 · 05/07/2025 12:44

Utterlyconfusednow · 03/07/2025 19:16

Are these comfortable for longish walks?

I wouldn't go on a long hike but have clocked up a few miles wandering around my town in a day

Ems2901 · 05/07/2025 13:03

Yes they are, but I found them so uncomfortable that I got rid of them ! X

Falingoth · 05/07/2025 13:13

Jeezitneverends · 04/07/2025 20:26

Wouldn’t they have been cheaper because you bought them years ago?😂

I remember looking at Birkenstocks years ago at the same time, and they were way more expensive than the Clarks sandals then...

Falingoth · 05/07/2025 13:15

Rhaenys · 04/07/2025 19:09

They’re incredibly comfortable. Once you’ve worn them in, they feel like they were made specifically for you. I personally prefer the single strap ones though.

Yes I'm sure they are. I've got some Dunlop sandals which are also incredibly comfortable and feel like they were made for me. They were £30.

Each to their own. I did try some on in a Schuh once and I'm not really a fan of the strap placement. I prefer sandals to have an ankle strap so it doesn't feel like every time I take a step, I'm enticing the shoe to reluctantly come with me.

FlowersFawb · 05/07/2025 13:48

I love mine and would say I'm fairly fashionable!
