Am I the only person without a bracelet stack?!

I’m so crap at jewellery. Necklaces annoy me, I only wear wedding/engagement/eternity rings - they are tiny and probably some would scoff at the stone size, but anything big on me looks daft.

would really like to build a decent bracelet stack that doesn’t look like cheapo costume stuff…

any tips?

I wear a bangle stack when more dressed up, mainly silver, one gold, all bought from local silversmiths.

I’ve loved the VCA Alhambra bracelet since before it became popular. Now I don’t like that I see it everywhere! Though I suspect that by the time I’ve saved up for it it won’t be popular anymore.

I think bigger stacks are less popular now. Recently I’ve only need seeing a max of 2 stacked on social media etc

Ruthietuthie · 08/05/2025 20:54

@happytobemrsg, I agree with you on the Alhambra bracelet. I got mine after seeing Kate Middleton/Princess of Wales wearing a necklace version to a film premiere or something back in 2020 or 2019. She was wearing a white and gold dress and it looked really lovely. I have the blue one, because I love blue, but I find myself wearing it less now I see it everywhere. But I do still wear it, and I wear it less everyday because it is a bit fragile (I sleep, shower, exercise, in several of my other bracelets). And, when I look at it, the detail is beautiful. (Also, it has been around for so long. Elizabeth Taylor collected the design as did Grace Kelly).
If you didn't want the design that everyone has at the moment, you could get one of the "Sweet Alhambra" designs, especially the ones that are just one small motif on a chain. They are dainty and really pretty.

This thread reminds me to get polishing my silver bracelets. I have a few different pandora ones, which I mix with a turquoise beaded one for summer. One of the pandora ones is a double wrap leather, with only a few charms on. I find the full on beaded charms a bit heavy to wear.

Also now that I wear a fitbit, I find the stack doesn't look as nice. I should invest in a different band. Before fitbit, I wore a bangle watch which blended with the bracelets. I only like to wear them on my left, non-dominant hand.

Never heard of a bracelet stack but is it an excuse to have a picture of Morten Harket?

Do we need an excuse?

I love Annie Haak for these. I've bought 3 or 4 stacks over the years and wear them in different combinations. They're super lightweight, and it doesn't matter which colours you mix. And if you break one, you send them the beads and they restring them for you. DH has bought me some lovely bracelets over the years but I wear my stacks the most.

I mean, no one needs any jewellery..so what difference does it make if you want 1 or 10?

Actually you may be onto something, I’ll look at an alternative Apple watch strap then I can try wearing on my left hand alongside, might annoy me less than in my (dominant) right..😍

I found some lovely gem stone bracelets at Carrie Elspeth and bought quite a few to build different bracelet stacks. They each come with a choice of a heart or star charm. I have bought from a few limited offers where they are reduced from £29.99 to £10 for 24 hours. I've really happy with them.

A simple gold bangle is all one needs

Since no one technically needs bracelets in any number, I'm not sure how the 'need' for one is different than the 'need' for a stack?

I mean, by your metric, you could just as easily say, a simple 20 carat tennis bracelet is all one needs.

@blindblinds, yes. Why are you confused?
Work became so stressful that it brought me to the edge of mental breakdown (with a highly personal, entirely unjust attack against my ethics and character). I didn't want to leave as this is a career that I've spent my whole life building and an institution that I was deeply committed to, even though I could have just walked away.
So yes, in meetings where I had to keep calm, dignified, and professional when I could have cried, I would put touch my bracelet and remind myself that, in the big picture, these matters of internal politics were small, far less important than the life I have built with my husband and child.
I don't think that is difficult to understand.

I have a pair of earrings I use in a similar way. It can be a powerful tool. They are delicate and subtle but to me they carry a lot of meaning and give me strength heading into difficult meetings (I often have to lock horns with very bullish men)

Look up a company called Lucky Star Jewellery on Instagram, they have some nice summery coloured bracelets / bangles that can be mixed with metal bangles, I have some and I get quite a lot of compliments on them,

I’d love a bracelet stack but my wrists are too big. I need upwards of 20cm length ideally. I can just about close a 20cm bracelet but they are rare enough. Does anyone know where to find longer ones?

Second the John Garland Taylor suggestion. I have this that I love. Just ordered the medium as I have lost quite a bit of weight and the large is now too big.

Molly Silver Bangle

Our best-selling triple-twist bangle in solid silver. Choose from 2 widths. Handmade in the UK with free resizing and over 6,000 five star reviews.

Bracelets always seem like a nice idea until you try to wear them and they get in the way of absolutely bloody everything. DH bought me a gold watch. I kept it for several years before selling it as scrap gold. I did get more than I paid for it though as the the price of gold had gone through the roof from the time when it was purchased, and I sold the matching bracelet for a profit on eBay. I'd wanted it but just couldn't stand the feel of it on my wrist.

Some people are bracelet people and some just are not. Don't force one if you are the other as it's just a waste of good money.

BEST POST EVER.

Never heard of a bracelet stack until this thread! I do wear a bracelet on one wrist but only one at a time
On the other wrist I do have a set of bangles which I love as had them made out of other jewellery

Am I the only person without a bracelet stack?!
bendmeoverbackwards · 09/05/2025 01:21

Another vote for John Garland Taylor. I have the Mia cuff and the Tabby bangle and wear them regularly.

Dont get a stack OP, get one, it looks nicer IMO.

I don’t like pancake stacks either, what’s wrong with one? 😂

Ruthietuthie · 09/05/2025 02:37

@JaceLancs, those bangles are really elegant. And even lovelier that you had them made.

JaceLancs · 09/05/2025 04:04

Thank you @Ruthietuthie
2 diamond rings and part of a broken diamond bracelet - with lots of odd bits of gold from DM, DD and myself - lost single earrings etc 😊

Ruthietuthie · 09/05/2025 12:48

@JaceLancs, that is SUCH a good idea. I have some bits of broken jewelry and earrings where I lost half of the pair. I had thought of maybe turning them into a ring (as that is what I've seen) but as lots of the stones are tiny and different shapes, I couldn't imagine how it would look good. But a gold bangle, with scattered tiny stones set in it would be REALLY nice.

Me too, absolutely hate the claustrophobic feeling of socks. It has to be SUPER cold for me to wear a pair of bamboo ones, can just about tolerate them.

I can’t tolerate them at all, had to wear some the other month as I had boots on and I was so uncomfortable alllllll day 😭
