I’m currently reworking my way through the Tocca discovery set I got for Christmas. These are definitely warm weather scents - when I first tried them all in January they all smelled pretty much the same and/or of not very much at all, but now I can really tell the difference between them. Pretty much all variations on the fruity or fresh floral theme though.

The only one I’m not really liking so far is Cleopatra, which has a distinct musky base note that I’m not keen on.

Cleopatra is really mean scent. I like Colette most but few others too

DR Harris Twenty Nine today. Probably my favourite rose, because it's spicy rather than sweet.

AprilLady · 02/05/2025 15:24

Jo Malone English Pear and Sweet Pea today. Light and pretty and great for the hotter weather, though doesn’t last that long.

@MiaN hope you feel better soon. I love the LM Ambre Vanille body cream, which I pretty much only wear to bed, so fully understand!

IDontHateRainbows · 02/05/2025 16:21

The Guerlain Bosca Vanilla arrived - its quite unusual - described as a 'marine'/ salty vanilla -I do like it, it's like the salted caramel version of a vanilla perfume!
There are a few of these beachy/salty type vanillas around - I think vanilla vibes by JHAG or beach walk by Replica are in the same vein.

Don't judge. Its 2 pm, I have fluffy socks and jammies, and Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille and I am ready for some downtime. I am not feeling the best and craving the comfort. The irony is that while I only wear it as downtime scent, I love it so much - it is likely one I will repurchase.

I'm obsessed with the LM Ambre Vanille hand cream and have just ordered the new body wash (20% off currently on ASOS). I've been debating the perfume because it's the most gorgeous cosy vanilla.

There is also a gorgeous bath oil in LM Ambre Vanille as well, I love this scent as well when I want to feel warm and cozy.

They still have the little Christmas sets of ambre vanille on brand alley, with a mini perfume, oil and cream... around £22 or so.

As for me, vanilla powder today and hoping the postman has my vanilla samples from perfumista in his sack!

I’m currently in a very hot country so wore EA green tea just for a bit of freshness which lasted about 5 seconds. It performed even worse than usual which
is saying something! Not sure why that is.. I love the scent but just wish it had better longevity

Oooh....

Jo Malone Orange Marmalade today. Bitter orangey, herby and not too sweet.
And so far it’s lasted 4 hours!

Deathraystare · 03/05/2025 13:35

Popped into a chemist for much needed hayfever eye drops and pills (this was after telling a Doctor at work that my hayfevr wasn't bad but woke up with sticky sore eyes and immediately after applying eye make up had to quickly remove it!). I saw the 4711 body spray. I love the cologney smell it is nice and fresh (a bit soapey too) and thought why not???

IDontHateRainbows · 03/05/2025 13:42

Moved to bosca vanilla, such an unusual scent.
Also tried etat libre d'orange nostos which is an oudy, rosey scent... lovely but a bit heavy for today's weather.

Over the last 24 hours I've come down with a horrible snotty cold so didn't want to try one of my expensive samples in case i can't smell it properly. So it's Zara Ebony Wood for me today.

Zoetrope1 · 03/05/2025 22:57

For those of you who who’ve tried Miami shake, what do you think? I can get a free travel size with a beauty order but not sure whether to hold off for a better offer!

Zoetrope1 · 03/05/2025 23:45

In an aromatic kinda mood, thé noir 29 today.

paristotokyo · 04/05/2025 06:14

@Zoetrope1I have a 5ml sample and think it’s fine as I got it as part of an edit but I’d never purchase it. It’s very linear and not that interesting, in my opinion any way. More of an artificial strawberry scent

Agreed, it's nice enough as a sample but not one I ever considered buying more of.

thanks both, I’ll hold off!

HolidayHattie · 04/05/2025 18:29

MMM Replica Coffee Break today. I'm not going anywhere so I don't mind smelling like a cappuccino today and I can hardly smell it anyway, thanks to my horrible cold.

Zoetrope1 · 05/05/2025 01:10

SOTD tobacco vanille, a warm syrupy tobacco vanilla with dried fruits and spices. Festive and perfect for the colder seasons.

Deathraystare · 05/05/2025 10:43

The tester spray of Molton Brown's Rose and Rhubarb (or is it the other way around??!!) I loved the body wash! Will repurchase when I have more money.

Tom Ford? I tested that recently and liked it a lot, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much.

HolidayHattie · 05/05/2025 16:51

Still can't smell properly so it's back to my old favourite Flower by Kenzo, because at least that's safe. I'm itching to try more of my new samples but I need this cold to clear up first.

IDontHateRainbows · 05/05/2025 17:04

Vilhem Dear Polly today. I like this one - very much a lemon tea scent
