I think it may be patchouli that I don't like, although I do like (or at least don't mind) some perfumes which have it listed as an ingredient.

Deathraystare · 24/04/2025 12:39

Same as yesterday Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Coconut Breeze.

Portrait of a Lady. Expected to like it, but I'm not keen. There's a note in it that I find unpleasant; I wish I knew what it is so I could rule out others with this ingredient.

I don't like it either. Rose & patchouli combination is not something I can enjoy. It feels too heavy & retro to my nose

I know what you mean. I have a 10ml which is plenty. I’m not sure what the note is either - I love rose perfumes of many types.

Liberty hera Reigns. Not one I wear a lot of but when I do, I always enjoy it.

Babylon is lovely but just too light and fleeting for me I think.

No sotd really however quickly did a spritz of replica autumn vibes as I realised I hadn’t tried it from the set I bought. Wrong season for it but it is lovely! Would definitely have bought a larger size to use for uk autumn/winter however I’m relocating so have no need for it unfortunately

Don't laugh, but I got the winter set with autumn vibes, jazz club and fireplace very cheaply from just my look and stashed it in the winter clothes suitcase which goes into storage in the attic every spring. It'll be waiting for me as a lovely treat in October when it comes out again. Replica scents can be very seasonal.

No laughing from me, that’s a great idea! Hopefully you’ll forget about it by the time autumn comes around and it’ll be nice surprise. Out of all the replica discovery set I’ve got out of 10, those three are amongst the top imo

Check it's Autumn Vibes - my set has Coffee Break instead.

@HolidayHattie I’m not a fan of POAL either - I also think it’s the rose patchouli combo and it’s quite a dark rose. Smells too mature and vintage for me.

HolidayHattie · 25/04/2025 05:08

Tom Ford Lost Cherry and Tobacco Vanille on left wrist and elbow. Hermès Twilly and Twilly Eau Poivrée on the right. Can you tell I'm at the airport?

Loving both Tom Fords. Not fussed about either of the Hermès.

MiaN · 25/04/2025 06:55

So far the rating of my Atelier Cologne perfumes
Cedre Atlas -> Pacific Lime -> Bohemian Orange Blossom ->Pomelo Paradis -> Orange Sanguine

Still to try Love Osmanthus and Clementine California. to be honest, I love having them - I have one 10ml, 2 30ml and the rest are full size. All bought on very good deal. But you need to shower yourself in them still don't last - I suspect they will be fantastic for heat/summer but not much of that where we live.

:)

The fist two are great for gym/workouts as they are really fresh without being that juicy and sweet. But all are lovely. I don't have any other brand that I own so many perfumes, I am fan but I wish they last.

I spoke too soon. The Tom Fords are so shouty that I couldn't really smell the Twilly. I do quite like those - especially the Poivrée - after all.

I received the Next fragrance beauty box yesterday. After reading some reviews, decided not to keep the Prada Paradoxe, it's a full size bottle so not the time for sampling/testing.
I have kept the donna born in roma extradose 10ml spray which is lovely, sweet and boozy although not very spring like. Its nice enough, uncomplicated, easy designer frag.

In the set was also alien extraintense which I have already tried and loved, it's a lovely tuberosey-vanillay alien flanker for those that are alien fans. And YSL Libre Le Parfum which I had a cheeky whiff of, it's nice enough but nothing to write home about. Plus a mini la vie est belle.
All in all fairly good value for £75 which the paradoxe is worth on its own. Nothing earth shattering or ground breaking in there but if like me you enjoy sampling new things it may be worth a punt

Kiehl's Musk layered with 4160T Bodhi Language today. So a musky sandalwood vibe which was just fine for an early (too early) yoga class. But I might have a bath in a bit and put on something more interesting!

I have the Maison Matine discovery set on order from Les Senteurs - 11 x 2ml for £30, which I thought was not bad.

I don't have the first clue what any of them are like as have never sniffed any, but the packaging is fab, they do 15ml bottles if any take my fancy, and I figured that if Les Senteurs stock them, that's a good sign!

I have also signed up to Scentbox, which I fear may have been a grave error, but I can cancel anytime so...

Zoetrope1 · 25/04/2025 11:20

@fromthevault i love scentbox! My next box is on its way to me as we speak

fromthevault · 25/04/2025 11:25

Oh that's good to hear @zoetrope1! I am always a bit suspicious of these online subscriptions but they do have some interesting scents so I thought what's the worst that could happen?

What's in your next box? I have Nishane Ani on the way as I love it but can't afford a FB. It seemed a pretty good deal 8ml for £13 (with my first-order discount).

These sound really nice. I spritzed Pacific lime at an airport once and remember liking it. Very uplifting and refreshing.

I have Ani on its way too! Also Naxos and Piano Santal. This is a little cheeky but I always purchase the 3 scent box as it’s the best value and then either pause or cancel until I’m ready for another box. Every time I’ve cancelled they’ve sent me a voucher for 40% off for resubscribing so I usually get them discounted. I like that you get a proper travel spray case with every fragrance and their inventory changes regularly enough.

I find scentbox gets quite expensive for the premium scents after the first month, cam be cheaper to get from a sample service. It's like £25 for 8ml after the first month which put me off. Plus I'm too impatient to wait a month!

Enjoy Ani!

Which sample service do you favour @IDontHateRainbows? I've been bitten by a couple that were too good to be true! Perfumista always seems reliable but there are so many springing up now.

paristotokyo · 25/04/2025 11:59

I did the speediest visit to selfridges ever today on my way to somewhere else and only had time to sample le labo eucalyptus and I loooooove it
initially. Not what I was expecting but it’s so very nice. Not medicinal smelling which I was expecting. Will be great for hot weather. Think this will be my
next purchase depending on the longevity

I love perfumista, especially the lovely glass atomisers they use. Can't stand the cheap plastic ones.
Also used Scented samples, not to be confused with scent samples which are not good reviews.
Sometimes the per ml price is better than getting the travel size directly from the official retailers, they must get the massive bottles to make this work.. but tom ford, byredo, etc it can work out cheaper

Once again sprayed the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Coconut Breeze which is nice and refreshing. Although I love strong scents in winter by now I am on lighter ones.
