Wearing the Atelier perfume from the Liberty BD today. It's a very nice lounging around bank holiday scent.

paristotokyo · 21/04/2025 17:34

JHAG miami shake just because it was the first thing to hand. It’s ok and I’ll use up the 5ml sample but not something I’d rp

HolidayHattie · 21/04/2025 21:11

Finally made it into town today. M&S Apothecary Warmth on my left wrist (supposed to be a dupe of Le Labo Santal 33).

M&S Sea Salt & Neroli (supposedly a dupe of Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt) on my right wrist.

Not mad keen on either of them, although I prefer the Sea Salt and Neroli. Bought several M&S Discovery Sets.

SOTD IS Si Eau de Parfum Intense Giorgio Armani. Got a free sample so thought id give it a go. Its a strange one for me - on first spray its fruity zesty summer scent - can def smell blackcurrent but then it dries down and all that’s left is a wintery (to me) vanilla. I like both parts of it but didn’t expect to get such a strong variation between first spray and dry down. Fragrantica say its a Chypre fragrance so off to google what that means 🤣

IDontHateRainbows · 22/04/2025 13:08

SOTD is very good girl elixir - lovely but has faded by now (lunchtime) and I'm trying to tone things down at work after too many 'what's that I can smell!' comments which were making me feel self conscious. I do like it, it's got a - not citrussy, but similar sharp, zingy feel to a citrus. But I think its cherry. With a vanillary dry down. Just wish it lasted longer but for the sake of my colleagues forced to sit with me through the afternoon meeting, maybe a good thing it doesn't!

Any new favourites for bed time?

Luna Penhaligon's AM & office, Superba Rossa PM date night. I am getting no rose at all, to me this is amped up Fame - sweet ripe fruit, summer/fall night time scent. I wouldn't buy it but it's not as harsh to my nose as Erba Pura.

MiaN · 22/04/2025 16:48

if you had the harrods advent, and you remember or kept Superba Rossa, can you please tell me what notes are you getting and what season does this scent feels like to you. I asked 3 people in my house and everyone had different notes and season

Zoetrope1 · 23/04/2025 05:44

Trying two Vilhelm Parfumerie scents today. Sparking Jo which smells like champagne with a musky down - interesting to smell but not for me. Basilico & Fellini - a lovely green figgy scent, the dry down smells quite clean to me

MiaN · 23/04/2025 06:34

I am going to go through my atelier cologne to see what's a keeper and what I can get rid off. Pomelo Paradise today - complete keeper for me.

AprilLady · 23/04/2025 08:41

SOTD is FM En passant. Beautiful, soft lilac fragrance perfect for a spring day in the office.

Ooh sounds interesting - I've heard mixed things about Vilhelm and was considering getting a custom discovery kit. The basilico one sounds lush. Also interested to try moon carnival, smoke show and purple fig.

Which are your favourites so far?

Also I don’t usually wear fragrance for bed but thought I’d spritz molecule 01 + black tea tonight. I think the Iris would also be nice. Or a light vanilla. Something cozy and not too full on.

HolidayHattie · 23/04/2025 13:11

Halfeti for me today. From the description, I expected to love it. I do like it quite a lot, and would wear it if I had it, but I don't love it enough to cough up the £££ for a full bottle. I prefer Ministry of Oud: Greatest.

OvaHere · 23/04/2025 13:41

BDK Smoking Rouge today. I got one of their tester packs. I like this a lot, a really nice cherry scent. Probably not one for the office as it seems quite strong.

RoseTeaLady · 23/04/2025 17:28

SOTD Commodity Milk expressive (which, I think, is half way between ‘I can’t smell a thing’ and ‘oops, that’s a bit powerful!’)
Got this in the Cult Beauty edit. Smelled quite acrid on paper strip, but on me it’s lovely. I keep getting wafts of musk and a bit of vanilla. Can’t smell milk, which is fine. One for cooler weather.

Zoetrope1 · 23/04/2025 23:16

Goldfield & Banks Sunset Hour layered with Pacific Rock Moss today. Sunset hour is sweet and girly, it’s supposed to be reminiscent of cocktails at the beach at sunset but it reminds me more of a childhood lolly (maybe raspberry drops?). Pacific rock moss is really lovely, an aromatic beachy skin scent similar to wood sage and sea salt. It
doesn't last very long on its own though.

My husband is wearing tuberose astral and the entire house smells incredible. The sillage on this is so good. Quickly turning into a favourite.

I haven’t tried this scent but the reviews on fragrantica (notes / seasons) are all over the place too. Intriguing!

If I have to choose one to have backup of is Orange Sanguine. Today trying Cedre Atlas - reminds me of D&G Blue Intense. Not dupe but if you have one (my son took mine form me!) you don't need the other.

I was just debating whether to keep that one from the extraits set.... you have convinced me that I should!

Right. I get nothing like the description. To my nose is intense honey & fruit but as there isn't any complexity (like in lost cherry or devotion/lira) it does reminds me more of intense version of Fame, and summer evening night. Maybe early fall. Not winter. I get no rose at all.

IDontHateRainbows · 24/04/2025 07:57

In the mood for light vanilla today so I have sana jardin vanilla nomad on my left hand (slightly herby, salty) and on the right hand the delectable babylon by penhaligons.

I could drown in a vat of babylon and not mind

vanilla nomad is one of those 'do I like it or not' perfumes but I must like it somewhat to have kept it.

On order I have the Next fragrance beauty box - with paradoxe, ysl libre le parfum, alien extraintense, donna born in roma and la vie est belle. I will probably keep the extra intense and born in roma.

Has anyone tried Paradoxe and liked it? Its a full size so I'm not sure whether to keep or sell it.

Also have gris charnel extrait sample coming and alien goddess!

@IDontHateRainbows I got the 30ml intense version of Paradoxe at Xmas after smelling it in HN last year. It's nice enough but having got into more interesting perfumes since them I now find it a bit meh and tbh don't reach for it because I find I have better options.

HolidayHattie · 24/04/2025 08:33

Portrait of a Lady. Expected to like it, but I'm not keen. There's a note in it that I find unpleasant; I wish I knew what it is so I could rule out others with this ingredient.

Caldey Island Gorse today, having remembered where it was lurking!
