Penhaligons Luna today. Sharp and bright for spring weather.

Luna is love for me for this time of the year

Unlike chanel chance eau splendide. Disappointing

Tried 2 at the MM Replica counter in John Lewis today. Bubble Bath and When the Rain Stops. Bubble Bath was flowery, creamy and coconutty (sorry - new to this) and has faded to a soft skin scent after about 5hrs. Love it.
When the Rain Stops smells like harsh aftershave and I shall wash it off when I get home.

I’m off to a flower festival today so thought I’d wear something floral - Maison Crivelli Rose SaltifOlia. It’s a slightly salty / beachy fresh rose. Quite clean too. The only rose fragrance I get along with.

@MiaN agree that Luna is a lovely spring scent.

SOTD is Dries van Noten Soie Malaquais - it’s silky and rosy, with base notes of chestnut and cacao. Different to anything else I own, and really lovely. Sort of gourmand scent, but not particularly sweet or vanilla based. I like it a lot; one of the stand outs for me from the 2023 Selfridges Advent calendar.

Having seen all your comments about Luna, I decided to crack open my Penhaligon's Discovery Set today. Really liking it so far.

L'ateliere exquise tentation from the liberty drop today. Sweet and almondy but not too heavy.

Still liking the Luna - smells like sherbet lemons now with a bit of Rose mixed in.

My MMM autumn/winter set from Just My Look arrived and I now know why it was so cheap. The more expensive ones contain Autumn Vibes but this one has Coffee Break instead. Just sprayed it on my elbow and it does smell like a creamy coffee but that's not what I want to smell like. I'm really annoyed with myself for not noticing before I ordered.

Funny story about how I found Luna - I was sniffing my way around the table in Penhaligons with a very good friend, when she suddenly exclaimed "Yuck!", and immediately handed me the smelling strip for Luna, saying "I don't like it at all, but it's very you!". She was absolutely right, but her instinctive first reaction still makes me laugh.

I was lucky enough to try a sample of Aerin, Mediterranean Honeysuckle. It is beautiful. Very tempted but I still have a cellophane wrapped bottle of Dior - L'or so not sure I can justify another treat 💙

Le labo another 13 for me today. Sigh, I love this a lot. Someone mentioned it smells like when you turn the pages of a fashion magazine and they’re not wrong. I’ve come to the end of mine and I’m sad that it’s so expensive to repurchase

Molton brown coastal cypress & sea fennel sample today. I used the shower gel in this scent whilst on a holiday and I have really happy memories attached to this scent! So I picked up a sample of the fragrance to try and it’s lovely, definitely takes me back to happy times

That's so weird. I liked When the Rain Stops and disliked Bubble Bath! With the latter, I didn't get the clean, soapy small it's supposed to have, I just got lots of fruity sweetness then lots of coconut. I wasn't so keen on When the Rain Stops on first spray but enjoyed the dry down.

SOTD is Penhaligon's Empressa. It smells very "grown up" to me and nice for spring.

@HolidayHattie Have just looked back and seen your post. How funny that we picked the same scents to try!

SOTD is MM Replica Afternoon Delight. It really does smell like cake, but there’s a plastic note that I’m not keen on, so that’s a no from me. Am working my way through one of the Cult Beauty boxes.

no, we didn't. The forecast was rain all day and it's the type of outlet you are constantly in and out. I did send them message asking if they have any good offers on, and advent availability. No advent stock, the offer was if you spend x you get free scarf and two 5ml minis

Penhaligon's Empressa is supposed to be nearly identical to Coco Mademoiselle Chanel. I don't like either but i can't comment if they are really that similar or not

Faces of frances by vilhelm today. Not 100% sure on this one liked it at first but I don't think I'll mourn the travel size running out. Strange, as I've had the opposite, not liking a scent initially and then it grows on me. This one's a degrower!

I can't make my mind up on afternoon delight. It's pretty yummy, but a bit too simplistic for me. I enjoyed the samples from the cult kits
