Tried Kayali Bougie Marshmallow. It's very sweet! I can see it appealing to a teenager. I don't dislike it, but it's quite a simple scent. Comforting, easy...but not an 'olfactory experience' put it that way

I have 10ml of this. It really grew on me. I've worn it quite a lot and I didn't expect to really.

Zoetrope1 · 10/04/2025 23:04

Le Labo Thé Noir today, it’s woody, aromatic and a little spicy. I’m going for a hike today and this fragrance always feels perfect for a day in nature

IDontHateRainbows · 11/04/2025 08:07

Crivelli ambre chromatique - this is getting me interested in amber which I didn't like before. It's strong, a bit smoky - I like it. I would get another sample, but not fb.

What a lovely day for a hike!

SOTD is Le Labo The Noir - thanks @Zoetrope1 saw your post and realised I hadn’t worn it for a while. Easily still my favourite Le Labo.

Magpiecomplex · 11/04/2025 12:55

L'Occitane Verveine today. A much nicer interpretation of verbena than the Sana Jardin version. This one is fizzy and bright. Doesn't last terribly long but can be resprayed.

paristotokyo · 11/04/2025 13:55

Also le labo the noir today 😍

IDontHateRainbows · 11/04/2025 14:23

Mugler alien extraintense today. It's nothing like original alien which I found sickly and too floral. This is much softer, yet intense as the name suggests. Just goes to show how supposedly similar scents can be different.

I’m glad thé noir is getting some love! One of my favourite scents 😊

Iris Malikhan today, a green iris vanilla.

IDontHateRainbows · 12/04/2025 09:06

MFK grand soir. Going through an amber phase I think. This is nice but I prefer the crivelli.

4160T Dancing With Strangers today in honour of a very swishy dress. Younger offspring doesn't like it because it smells of Parma Violets, but I've always been fond of a violet scent. Reminds me of my grandmother, who always wore Yardley's April Violets.

OvaHere · 12/04/2025 11:29

Fugazzi Sugardaddy from one of the CB Edits. It's okay, reminds me a bit of one of the hippy type shops I used to frequent in my youth - incense mixed with sugar is how I'd describe it. Don't think I'd buy it but it's pleasant enough.

OvaHere · 12/04/2025 11:30

Yesterday I wore Matiere Premiere Vanilla Powder again. That one I do think I need to buy in a larger size. Love it and it lasts pretty well.

fromthevault · 12/04/2025 12:53

Diptyque L'ombre dans l'eau today for another glorious Spring morning.

I keep meaning to try Thé Noir. I don't have any Le Labo scents, apart from Santal 33 which I'm not actually overly keen on, but the notes for Thé Noir have always appealed. Anything with tea, fig or tobacco notes is usually ok by me.

paristotokyo · 12/04/2025 17:31

Today was green tea again, really easy wear and I tend to reach for it a lot. Shame it doesn’t last long. I tested replica bubble bath but it’s not for me. Don’t enjoy that soapy type of scent profile

Have you tried dear polly by Vilhelm parfumerie? Lovely lemony black tea scent

Aldebaran by Marc- Antoine Barrios. It's a tuberose/osmanthus monster. One cautious spray on my skin and I can still smell it a day later even after a shower. It's a bit like Synthetic Jungle/Nature but not as sickly on the dry down. I'm in two minds about it's full bottle worthiness. It's certainly different.

Lurkingshark · 12/04/2025 22:40

enjoying the tea chat!

@AprilLady apologies if not you but did you recommend an Elie Saab rose perfume a while back?

AprilLady · 12/04/2025 23:03

@Lurkingshark yes, it’s a now discontinued one from Ellie Saab called Rose No. 1. Available from some of the discounters at a really good price.

Zoetrope1 · 13/04/2025 00:55

Bal d’Afrique today - citrusy, fruity, aromatic and woody. It’s a happy, uplifting easy reach scent.

IDontHateRainbows · 13/04/2025 06:43

I'm wearing the very similar to bal d'afrique rare beauty find comfort. Made by the same perfumer. I think I prefer it to bda, it's a but softer. Never quite got on with bda.

Dune by Dior. An old favourite.

AprilLady · 13/04/2025 12:08

SOTD Trying a sample of Jo Malone English Pear and Sweet Pea. Light and pretty, but I don’t expect it will have much longevity.

IDontHateRainbows · 13/04/2025 12:34

Wearing Dear Polly by Vilhelm today.
Caved and bought the crivelli large extrait discovery set which has ambre chromatique and the tuberose one. Also some others like oud Stallion which I'll sell. Luckily I only love those two so not tempted to keep the whole thing.

I’m tempted to try this, especially as SpaceNK has 20% off right now. However Fragrantica lists violets as a middle note and that’s making me hesitate. How strong is the violet in this?
