Just broken out a bottle of Monotheme's Il Libro Degli Agrumi Zahara...light citrus blossoms for a spring.

IDontHateRainbows · 08/04/2025 19:06

Vilhelm faces of francis again. So strange, I can smell orange, not a zesty orange more like in a cake, but there's no fruit in there at all!

I wore Sana Jardin today. Not sure which one it is (the one from the Liberty BD a few boxes ago if anyone can remember).

I think it's only the 3rd time I've worn it but it's growing on me. I didn't love it instantly when I got it. Probably not one I'm ever going to buy but it's a decent sample size so can't go to waste.

Elizabeth Arden green tea nectarine blossom. A nice easy wear. Not groundbreaking but subtle enough and very cheap so works well as a gym fragrance. I prefer the OG green tea though. Tested MM spring time in the park on one hand earlier as it’s a big departure from what I usually go for (usually hate white florals) but this one really surprised me and I found it to be very pretty and wearable. Think the pear note really helps round it out. Will enjoy the sample but won’t rp

EA Green tea is my gym scent too! I haven’t tried any of the flankers yet

paristotokyo · 08/04/2025 21:43

@Zoetrope1I’ve tried the coconut breeze one too but I really didn’t like it. It was so chemical smelling to me but on paper thought I’d love it. I’m intrigued by the lychee one but I really don’t need it…

Zoetrope1 · 08/04/2025 23:31

@paristotokyo i like the idea of the fig one but would want to try before buying

Lorenzo Villoresi Uomo today - a free sample I picked up a while ago and didn’t think much of at the time. Absolutely loving it - it’s fresh, citrusy, spicy, woody.

From Fragrantica: Uomo by Lorenzo Villoresi is a Aromatic Fougere fragrance for women and men. Uomo was launched in 1993. The nose behind this fragrance is Lorenzo Villoresi. Top notes are Amalfi Lemon, Bay Leaf, Bergamot, Lavender, Orange, Coriander, Petitgrain and elemi; middle notes are Sage, Clove, Pepper, Thyme, Juniper and Neroli; base notes are Vetiver, Rosemary, Oakmoss, Sandalwood, Cedar, Patchouli, Musk and Brazilian Rosewood.

Zoetrope1 · 08/04/2025 23:54

On reflection it’s a very old school gentleman scent 😂

Zoetrope1 · 09/04/2025 08:26

I blind bought a travel size of Maison Crivelli Tubereuse Astrale, it’s just arrived so giving it a try this evening. It’s tuberose and cinnamon with a hint of something animalic. As with a few of their creations I find the opening to be a bit jarring and I teeter between like and dislike but the dry down is becoming quite lovely. It’s also really potent, one spray is more than enough

MiaN · 09/04/2025 14:07

Sunflower Pop floral street. Smells like Fanta

paristotokyo · 09/04/2025 16:32

Under the lemon tree today by mm. From the sample
set but I already knew I liked this as have tested it in store before. I’d consider purchasing a larger size for summer. There is no lemon in this though as the main note is lime..

IDontHateRainbows · 09/04/2025 22:41

Bedtime scent D and G devotion, last little bit of sample. It's lovely but I won't RP.

Also tried original Alien earlier as I'd had a freebie of alien extraintense, however this is not as nice. Vert synthetic and too floral for me. Extraintense has tuberose which gives a different vibe which I much prefer

I had this one and thought it was one of his better ones... crivelli has a strange DNA and I too veer between not liking and liking then. They aren't easy scents at first, but some grow on you quite addictively!

@IDontHateRainbows i thought you might like this one as you enjoy musc ravageur - they both have cinnamon and musc / are slightly animalic

Zoetrope1 · 10/04/2025 05:58

Tuberose astrale again today - its growing on me a lot and it leaves a beautiful scent trail

IDontHateRainbows · 10/04/2025 06:37

In a day long workshop today and don't want to be 'perfume lady' so something light I think.
Maybe this is the ideal time to resurrection mojave ghost!

Vilhelm Dear Polly today for the office.

I had a bit of a sniffathon yesterday, and nearly bought a small bottle of MMM On A Date, but decided on reflection it was too similar to Diptyque L'ombre dans l'eau which I already own. Also almost splurged on the divine Vol de Nuit, which I've loved forever, but chickened out. I'm trying to stick to a budget 😁

A very sweet, young assistant also tried desperately to get me interested in Delina and all her sugary flankers. Not for me, thanks!

Millymollymine · 10/04/2025 10:48

Spent an hour yesterday in a deserted Harvey Nics on a mammoth sniff-a-thon 😂. I got to sniff all the Xerjoff I have been wanting to try, and am going to buy a sample of El Capital, La Tosca and Italia. They had a big selection of the Memo range and I may have given myself a 30ml payday treat 🙈 of Memo Ithaque - it just grabbed me - so summery- fruity, citrus, fresh, berries - loved it. Also loved Memo Marfa and Lalibela and have just bought a 5ml of each of those from Vinted. I then went to Selfridges to try the Amouage range - unfortunately (for my bank balance) I loved Guidance and Guidance 46 😖😖😖 the price though - £425 for 100ml!!!?????? I also tested all the PDM in Selfridges - loved Valaya and Oriana. So am going to buy a 10ml decant of guidance 46 and see how much I really love it before considering a full bottle.

Millymollymine · 10/04/2025 10:48

So not surprisingly SOTD is Memo Paris Ithaque.

Magpiecomplex · 10/04/2025 10:57

Sticking with the Sana Jardin discovery set, today is Venus of Verbena. All I have to say is "meh".

Isabelle70 · 10/04/2025 17:40

@Millymollymine if you are going away you can get Amouage in Duty free. I am hoping to get Guidance for £237 I think it was with an extra discount.

ijustneedaminute24 · 10/04/2025 17:47

I’m wearing a dupe of D&G By (leopard) today. I missed it so much after it was discontinued and am so happy that the dupe is the same - my memory of it at least.

I bought My Muse from B&M this weekend on a whim as it was reduced to £3.99. It’s a total dupe for Si which I’m thrilled about as I’m out of that and can’t spend £80+ at the minute.

I'm pretty much totally using dupes nowadays which I’m not sad about as I get to build my collection back up for hardly any money

AprilLady · 10/04/2025 18:00

@Millymollymine if you do want Amouage (and it is ££££!) definitely don’t pay full RP. Escentual and Notino (both very reputable) stock Amouage and fairly frequently do substantial discounts - worth checking regularly and picking up when they have a deal. While it’s been some time since the last one, Escentual have for instance occasionally done 25% off everything in stock.

For duty free, also make sure you are signed up to what is now called Club Avolta, to get 5% to 10% off duty free prices. The last time I bought something in duty free, I also got a voucher for 20% off a further purchase on the day. Worth bearing in mind if you want more than one thing, and then making the purchases as two separate transactions, cheaper one first.

AprilLady · 10/04/2025 18:05

Forgot to add: SOTD is Chanel 31 Rue Cambon, a previous purchase from duty free and beautiful, especially if you like the Chanel dna that surfaces in quite a few of the Les Exclusif range, as I do.

IDontHateRainbows · 10/04/2025 19:31

Tried Kayali Bougie Marshmallow. It's very sweet! I can see it appealing to a teenager. I don't dislike it, but it's quite a simple scent. Comforting, easy...but not an 'olfactory experience' put it that way

@Millymollymine

They have some Amouage perfumes here much cheaper including Guidance.

Also Memo Marfa and Lalibela

I've bought some perfume from this site before and it was fine. It was taken over by The Hut Group in 2023 so it's legit.
