My 4711 with orange blossom again.

CorneliaStreet · 01/04/2025 12:13

Commodity Juice today (from the Cult Beauty floral edit). I mainly get rhubarb and also a bit of rose from this. The longevity isn’t great, sprayed it this morning and now can’t smell anything at all on my wrist.

IDontHateRainbows · 01/04/2025 12:36

Decided to keep the Nostos, I can't sell everything! Good to try new notes, and this has just enough rose to pique my interest without being overpoweringly rose.

In the car on my lunch break having a cheeky spritz, I'm such an addict!

Tauer Reverie au Jardin today, for spring. The lavender in this packs a glorious green punch, and then dries down to smoky balsamic goodness. I love it. I stalked this on ebay for way too long and paid way too much, but it's one of my faves.

Discontinued, of course, like all really interesting and beautiful scents.

Poets of Berlin sounds interesting. Never got into vilhelm, wish they did a discovery box. Smoke show sounds interesting too.

I tried several of the Vilhelm fragrances in Liberty last year and out of all the ones I tried, Smoke Show was my favourite. I was underwhelmed by Poets of Berlin and nothing else really stood out apart from Smoke Show

potplantsinparadise · 01/04/2025 19:03

Bought the Aesop fragrance set today - trying out Tacit, very nice green scent, almost tea-like (thought not getting any of the vetiver sadly). Another one that feels like it'll really come into its own in very hot weather - now wondering if perfume houses are starting to make scents for climate change...? (slightly bleak, sorry)

OvaHere · 01/04/2025 19:13

I wore one of the Mark Jacobs Daisy scents today. I can't remember which one.

I've got a vanity bag full of the 1-2 mil freebie sample cards I've received with various purchases or in boxes so I'm trying to work my way through them just to use them up and in case there's a hidden gem in there.

The scent is okay - sweet/floral and inoffensive for work. Longevity is so-so, I can still smell it if I sniff my wrists but whether anyone else could I'm not sure.

paristotokyo · 01/04/2025 21:04

EA green tea for the lovely sunny day we had today. Wanted to test it out as I’m trying to put together my cosmetics and fragrances that’ll work for tropical weather and this makes the cut. Really inoffensive, fresh and smells ‘clean’. Doesn’t last long though which I was fine with. Might get another as it was so cheap. This evening was nest indigo which is the one I’ve been reaching for the most since I received it in the edit. I’m really loving tea scents lately

I need to try Smoke Show. I like a lot of the Vilhelm scents I've tried so far. Darling Nikki is a fave, and I really like 125th & Bloom. I tnink they do florals really well but would be interested to try some of the more unusual ones.

Zoetrope1 · 01/04/2025 23:54

I’m a big fan of Vilhelm, my favourites are Poets of Berlin (green vanilla), Morning Chess (Aventus DNA) and Dear Polly (black tea with some citrus and apple). Moon Carnival is also beautiful - it’s a tuberose reminiscent of Narcotic Venus but less animatic.

Gris charnel today - warm and spicy perfect for Autumn here

IDontHateRainbows · 02/04/2025 09:57

Frederic malle musc ravageur today. Starts off quite citrussy but dries down more vanilla.

Miami shake today as it’s grown on me

potplantsinparadise · 02/04/2025 12:09

Aesop 'Hwyl' - gorgeous, like being in a sauna in the woods.

PickledPup · 02/04/2025 13:21

Hello! Mind if I join?
I love perfume but where I live you tend to get the usual suspects and not much more so looking for inspiration :)
Was hoping some samples would arrive today but alas no luck. So SOTD is 'Still' by JLo - it's the only celeb fragrance I've ever really gotten on with. It's been reformulated so a harsh initial spray that needs a light hand but the dry down is lovely and works well with my chemistry (although a little thick). It's a very linear tea scent with white flowers and a musky base.
Bonus it's cheap, good longevity and not really around anymore so unlikely to run into loads of others wearing it!

fromthevault · 02/04/2025 13:38

Diptyque Orpheon today. I'd forgotten about this so it was a bit of a random swipe from the samples box this morning. I really, really like it and am now weighing up whether I can justify a full bottle.

It's a delicate, warm, powdery wood, very wearable and would be a brilliant everyday perfume for people who want something unobtrusive but a bit more interesting than just a 'skin scent'.

But I absolutely don't need more perfume...aaargh.

I have aesop and they all feel very expensive spa!

I find Miami Nectar much stronger now, after having it for a year and I like it a lot. I may consider full size at some point.

Today I am wearing Ella Ella Cacharel. Another one I said no, I don't like and used a sample in the bathroom. Then on the next day, I smelled it form the bathroom and decided I need 30ml bottle. Fruity, flowery, summary sweet - it's nothing groundbreaking yet so enjoyable

Magpiecomplex · 02/04/2025 17:44

4160Ts Burnt Cedar Rainbow Doves today, my go-to unobtrusive perfume for a day spent in the company of lots of people. Woody and slightly sugared almond.

IDontHateRainbows · 02/04/2025 19:23

Afternoon delight by maison margiela. It's quite a sweet one supposed to resemble a cake, but a sophisticated sweet rather than generic teenage mall style. Grown on me. Avoiding sugar IRL so maybe this is how I get my fix.

Do you pick up on the musky / animatic notes at all?

Zoetrope1 · 02/04/2025 21:50

Another Aesop fan here, a shame they don’t do fragrance discovery sets. their body and band lotions are also divine.

Maison Crivelli Iris Malikhan today. A green iris vanilla. The opening is a little different (intriguing, border line off putting) but the dry down is beautiful and I find this such an addictive fragrance - I can’t stop sniffing my arm.

I'm not sure, I don't think I quite know what to look ( smell) out for, but it must be muscy from the name.

Evening scent is mugler alien extraintense. Its a tuberose take on the OG. Not too sweet
I found alien goddess sickly sweet.

Liberty is doing 10% off perfume, my fellow perfumistas. I got the ex nihilo temptation selection box / large discovery set for pretty much half price, with discount vouchers and bd credit. I'm a sucker for a good selection box. Never tried ex nihilo before.

Pomelo Paradis Atelier Cologne for me today.

IDontHateRainbows · 03/04/2025 07:16

Jpg la belle today. Love this one. Into the city for a conference but will have the afternoon off. Selfridges perfume hall may get a look in. I don't tend to get too tempted to buy in the perfume halls as I'm not into full bottles and they rarely have the minis. Can't promise not to be inspired tho!
