Leggings - and what to wear with them

Following on from an earlier post from another OP about leggings - I have ordered some 😀

When I used to wear them I used to wear oversized t shirts and felt frumpy.

How do you style your leggings? quite like the idea of maybe an oversized shirt over a vest? But I have no clue?

Would you wear with boots or trainers? A long cardigan. I want to be able to go out in them, maybe to supermarket, maybe for coffee or a cheeky glass of wine, so maybe smart casual?

At the moment I’m wearing mine with these hoodies (Abercrombie hoodies and trainers

I live in my leggings for most of the year.
Depending on the weather I go for a mix of:
Autumn/Winter: Chunky knit jumper or fine knit jumper with DMs or chunky Chelsea boots. Long wool coat and scarf.
Spring: t shirt and trainers. Then wear a denim shirt as a jacket.

I would so long as the leggings aren't see through, you can wear anything with them

For work I wear long polo and t-shirts but I don't think there is need to cover the bum if you don't want too

T- shirts that are higher up look better than bum covering ones. I also wear hoodies or sweatshirts or for smarter patterned shirts

Oh and wear with boots or trainers

I wear them under dresses instead of tights. Much warmer!

In the house I'll wear them with jumpers but rarely outside the house.

I live in leggings!
With socks so they look like tights, under sweater dresses and regular dresses (or in summer, capri leggings)
With long baggy sweatshirts, jumpers, shackets
With sandals, trainers, ballet flats, short boots

I'm not a big leggings fan. Mostly wear mine to exercise and for walking the dog either an oversized tee or sweatshirt.
Currently though I'm wearing them as tights under skirts and dresses. I've noticed I will go alot shorter if I have the safety net of leggings to protect me!😁

As long as what you are wearing covers your arse, anything. They are not a trouser substitute.

I've not worn them for ages but I used to have some Velvet ones and I would wear knee high flat boots and long jumper or an oversized shirt/blouse

Just don't be that women who wears skin toned ones 4 sizes too small and has clearly never seen herself from behind!😂

Well, leggings arrived from Amazon and I am well impressed, 3 pairs for £21.99, they are not see through. I am a size 12 and ordered L-XL and they fit perfect and they are lovely material. Definitely going to be ordering in a different colour. Just need to go shopping for some tops to go with them

Im a big leggings fan these days! Outside of the gym/WFH, I wear them with longer jumpers. Our office is pretty casual these days so I’ve worn them with shorter tops but I do feel it’s more appropriate to cover the crotch area ideally 😆
Smarter style, cashmere tunics are a good option

I bought these leggings too. I like the way they are not too compression-y. I will wear for gym/lounge wear only though.

I rediscovered my love of leggings in my 30's! Much warmer and less faff than tights! If I'm not using them for sports, I'll pair them up with hoodies or dresses (anything that covers my bum area really). I bought a pair of fleece lined leggings for the winter and they're wonderful.

In the summer, I'll wear the shorter length leggings with summer dresses/longer summery tops.

Shoes: anything from flip flops and sandals in the summer, to trainers, chelsea boots or DM style boots.

They're so 2013. Especially capri leggings under dresses

A floor-length skirt, ideally.

As a general rule, you can wear anything as long as it covers your bum! Nothing worse than seeing the contours of your backside and if the material isn't thick, more. So tunic tops, longer line jumpers, long line shirts, thigh length dresses. The only exception in my opinion is thicker gym leggings worn for exercise, cropped tops, running vests etc are fine for exercising

I wear them under tunic-style tops and dresses. I like Joe Brown's - Women’s Tunics & Tops | Shop Stylish Tunic Tops | Joe Browns. They cover a multitude of sins.

I wear with Lulu lemon scuba. I think it's fine not to cover your bum with that look personally.

Exactly, I wear Llama leggings and they are quite substantial, no see though showing off ya bum

Though I am still traumatized by DS's teacher who used to wear see through leggings with short tops
