DD says this isn’t fashionable for me

Verbena17 · 02/01/2025 22:32

I keep going back to the Passenger website and really loving this warm cosy fleece.
However, DD (20+) says it’s camouflage and not fashionable at all.
I get Alaska/fat face outdoors dog walking type vibes from it and think it would be so lovely and warm instead of my old boring waterproof.

Now this isn’t waterproof clearly but on rainy days I’d wear my waterproof. But on fine days, I’d just wear this with my jeans.

Even my mum says she doesn’t like it.

Any other ideas for cosy fleece for dog walking if not this?
I thought it was really cool but I’m clearly past knowing what ‘really cool’ is anymore ….im under 48 and over 45 😂 and would probably need a 16 or 18, although reviews say it’s relaxed fit.

Can't you buy it and try it? Is it hugely expensive? The blue one looks nice.

I carry my weight on my tummy and mostly thighs and bum.
My mum always says chunky clothes make me look bigger (rude lady!) but perhaps she’s right.

Your DM is not very nice. Actually I wish I carried my weight like you do, I'm top heavy. I honestly think bulky clothing look better on someone that is smaller on top. I look like the Hulk in anything bulky as I have wide shoulders and am thick around the middle and on my back. So go for it, and honestly who cares what anyone says, wear what you want. I don't stick with trends, and I even wear bulky tops, even tho I know I look like a beast in them but I dont care 😂

@RoamingGnome , depending on where you live, you might find a more authentic one at the market.

Here I am finally, fashion stylist to the stars. Smile

Wasn't the wolf fleece jokingly suggested pages back? I once saw a family wearing matching designs if wolf and moon fleeces but in different colours.

But does anyone else like it?
It’s in the sale so maybe not 😂

I’m a total introvert and I like to not be noticed.
Ive never had a patterned fleece before. And DD mentioned it was akin to someone wearing a wolf fleece! 😬

Well I would rock a wolf fleece! I might get one. Wear what you like!

Pigtailsandall · 03/01/2025 19:47

I have a sherpa fleece from Passenger and it's really toasty. Bulky, but toasty. I use it to sit around the fire in the garden in the winter.

They have a million fleeces so just find another you like. The 3-toned quarter zip ones are very popular amongst East London hipsters. Or get something more plain like this:

I'm an apple shape so it probably wouldn't be ideal on me, but I would totally wear it and sod how it looks to other people. I wear clothes for comfort these days.

I like that one.

Weirdly after reading this thread yesterday I saw someone wearing that today
(I live in a v quiet town in the middle of nowhere)
They were about size 16 (like me) and about 5ft 5 ish, and it just looked very short in the body.

Just completely boxy but in a fleecey uncomfortable way that really didn't look particularly flattering in any way.

I guess you'll know when you try it.

I’ve gone off the camo green (fir trees supposedly) one now.
Havent got a clue what fleece to get but I’m sure I’ll find something.

I did find one called North Coast 2.0 on the passenger site but think it only goes up to a 14 and I’m not sure the cream one would suit me or wash me out.

Kuddly outdoor hoody..... On offer and very warm but let's just say your mum might not like it @Verbena17 😁

FartingAgainstThunder · 03/01/2025 22:30

We owe precisely no-one flattering or fashionable clothing.

There's nothing wrong with that fleece, get it and be cosy.

Verbena17 · 03/01/2025 23:47

Well, not sure what came over me but I’ve just seen a fleece lined coat on Tog24 and ordered it 😬
No idea if I’ll like it but at least it stops my fleece dilema for a while.

@Verbena17 it's quite boxy/short, the colours nice though (Imo)

OP I have something similar but it reaches my ankles. I call it my walking sleeping bag. I'd rather be warm than 'cool'!
Enjoy your warm coat!

Good choice OP! Much better than all the fluffy things.
