DD says this isn’t fashionable for me

Verbena17 · 02/01/2025 22:32

I keep going back to the Passenger website and really loving this warm cosy fleece.
However, DD (20+) says it’s camouflage and not fashionable at all.
I get Alaska/fat face outdoors dog walking type vibes from it and think it would be so lovely and warm instead of my old boring waterproof.

Now this isn’t waterproof clearly but on rainy days I’d wear my waterproof. But on fine days, I’d just wear this with my jeans.

Even my mum says she doesn’t like it.

Any other ideas for cosy fleece for dog walking if not this?
I thought it was really cool but I’m clearly past knowing what ‘really cool’ is anymore ….im under 48 and over 45 😂 and would probably need a 16 or 18, although reviews say it’s relaxed fit.

Can fleeces ever be fashionable?

Monvelo · 02/01/2025 22:53

I love my chunky passenger fleece. It's navy but I wanted the patterned purple one really 😆

Hayley1256 · 02/01/2025 22:55

I like that one, I'm into fleeces at the minute. Here are the ones on my asos list

I'm with your DD to be honest. It's not fashionable, but I don't think anything fleece ever could be called fashionable anyway. I don't like the camo either, or the orange trim.

However, having said all that it looks perfect for dog walking purposes - cosy, warm, plenty of pockets. So if you like it, buy it.

Treacletoots · 02/01/2025 22:56

I just bought some olive green cord dungarees from there and I bloody love them. They fit like a dream and I'm very similar age/size to you OP

If you like the fleece then give 0 fucks what anyone else thinks.

That aside. I recently picked up a lovely fleece from Superdry which is very similar but just without the camo. Just a thought.

Randomontheinternet25 · 02/01/2025 22:57

I own an outdoor oodie, Its the warmest thing, I look like a walking immersion tank

Waystation · 02/01/2025 22:58

It depends - if you go to some sort of outdoor event for mountain climbers/hikers they (the passenger brand) will be everywhere and are much loved by the more “trendy” outdoors type - if you like it buy it - I can tell you they are warm and very good quality and it will still look as new 12 months from now.

Fleeces are massively on trend just now

lifeistrick · 02/01/2025 23:01

I don't like that particular colouration, but they have lots of other nicer ones on their website and in the sale

Twoboysanddog · 02/01/2025 23:01

I like it..there are quite a few patterned/camo fleeces on Next/M&S but bet they are not as warm

RatRatPig · 02/01/2025 23:03

It's not my style but I can actually imagine some of the hipster mum crowd around here rocking that fleece.

LouisvilleSlugger · 02/01/2025 23:04

It’s absolutely hideous. But it won’t draw attention, so if you like to not be noticed it’s fine in that regard.

chalkyc2 · 02/01/2025 23:05

I like it.

I also love passenger.

I might add it to my list along with the cord dungarees I like too.

Honestly it's not an offensive item at all!! I saw plenty of passenger type wearing people around clerkenwell/old street today on my walk to work, never mind dog walking.

Now dry robes - that's where I draw the line. Unless on a beach.

Hayley1256 · 02/01/2025 23:05

I like these ones from next too

I love big fleeces! I would wear that.
Harper & Lewis, Columbia, 4th Arq are also brands I like.

Aha yes! I was in there the other week and thought how similar their fleeces were. Might have another look.
I just wanted one that wasn’t your average black Mountain Warehouse type thing.

Stop listening to other people. Who cares what they think. If you like it, buy it and wear it. I'm sure you don't always like what DD wears, but she still wears it and I bet you don't dress like your mother either.

tellmesomethingtrue · 02/01/2025 23:12

I prefer it in blue

Randomontheinternet25 · 02/01/2025 23:15

It's an outdoor brand so should be good quality , Next will be crappy because it's a fashion brand & M&S miss the mark with their fleece stuff.

Verbena17 · 02/01/2025 23:15

Ah Yes. Just not so sure about the life jacket type look of that top section (for me).

Not quite sure how it can be both hideous yet not draw attention 😂
