DD says this isn’t fashionable for me

Verbena17 · 02/01/2025 22:32

I keep going back to the Passenger website and really loving this warm cosy fleece.
However, DD (20+) says it’s camouflage and not fashionable at all.
I get Alaska/fat face outdoors dog walking type vibes from it and think it would be so lovely and warm instead of my old boring waterproof.

Now this isn’t waterproof clearly but on rainy days I’d wear my waterproof. But on fine days, I’d just wear this with my jeans.

Even my mum says she doesn’t like it.

Any other ideas for cosy fleece for dog walking if not this?
I thought it was really cool but I’m clearly past knowing what ‘really cool’ is anymore ….im under 48 and over 45 😂 and would probably need a 16 or 18, although reviews say it’s relaxed fit.

I like both 😅

Mossstitch · 02/01/2025 23:20

This introvert loves it and would wear it (I've never been fashionable though if that makes any difference😂)

This is it in the blue

Prefer the green tbh

healthybychristmas · 02/01/2025 23:27

It's really really ugly. It looks as though it has only been bought for comfort and not for any kind of style. That's fine if that's how you want to look.

Onemorepenny · 02/01/2025 23:29

@Verbena17 just bought two fleeces from them! Love mine, super cosy inside and perfect for a brisk walk outside.

I got this one - a pop of colour. I feel like I could wear it for a walk, down to the park, for a coffee or even a casual daytime outing into town. Will also be worn at home for those pesky zoom calls.

Get it. All fleeces are hideous but that shouldn't stop us being cosy.

MarieKlepto · 02/01/2025 23:33

I like it (and I wear nothing, absolutely nothing with the slightest hint of pattern). I wouldn't even notice if a fellow dog walker was wearing a fashionable jacket or not - we're all in our beyond civvy street, old clothes that we don't mind getting fox shit or other dog's slobber on.

Verbena17 · 02/01/2025 23:38

I think I’m going to order it (and maybe a more plain one too) and just see what it’s like.
I might try it on and think it’s awful but I think it’ll regret not seeing it.
im gonna go for the green one too - as that what first drew my attention.

It’s a very fine fleece. I tend to wear what makes me happy and give zero fucks what others make of me; I find this attitude brings peace of mind and I highly recommend it. Fashionable now seems to cover some bewildering bases these days. The sort of fleeces I see the young ones wearing tend to be multicoloured things from Lucy and Yak, very retina challenging.

Verbena17 · 02/01/2025 23:42

Guess what?
The XL and XXL (16 & 18) have all gone!

Maybe it’s fate!
Might see if anywhere else stocks their stuff or just buy a plain one from them in similar material.

This is it in the blue

Wasn't keen on the camo but love the blue! I'm early 30s and see lots of friends wearing similar

I love passenger fleeces but prefer the block colours.
Did you actually ask your daughter if it was fashionable?? For outdoor stuff, unless you were gorpcore, fashion isn't an issue surely?
Personally I enjoy looking at other people's walking/outdoor gear and enjoy outdoor clothing outlets more than such as Selfridges because it's becoming all I wear day to day

Enough4me · 02/01/2025 23:53

I prefer it in blue, but blue is my favourite colour to wear in most things. If you like green then look around for green ones and go for it.

ClairDeLaLune · 02/01/2025 23:54

Who cares if clothes are fashionable or not? Who cares if other people like what you wear or not? These things are constructs and opinions, and we don’t all have to think the same way, that would be so boring! If you like it, buy it, and wear it. Don’t listen to the negative voices around you. Be your own person!

I love blue too but wondered if that one was a bit bright

DressOrSkirt · 02/01/2025 23:58

I think it's fine in blue because it looks more like waves, but I don't like the camo green.

qazxc · 02/01/2025 23:58

The only important thing is whether you like it. Who cares whether it's fashionable, the world would be boring if we all dressed as clones. Personally I am a 46yr old and fat, nothing will make me look sylph like or out of a fashion magazine, so I just wear what I want because it makes me happy.

Verbena17 · 03/01/2025 00:04

How would you feel about any of these @Verbena17 ?

Lots to pick from there.

I’d say probably the double layer Debenhams one i quite like but not sure as I always thought quilted coats make me look larger.

@Verbena17 Honestly! Just look at Goodmove on M&S. Everything there is better. There’s thermal t shirts, fleece tops and everything inbeteeen. Some in the sale. Everything will be cosy if you layer properly. Lots of people like decent fleeces when out with the dog.

You’ve dodged a bullet OP. DD will be relieved.

Just get a plain olive green one

You're looking for a cosy fleece for dog walking.

Where does fashion come into it?
