Maybe @faustina, and yes, British brands are popular- but pricey!

I suppose if Toast open a proper branch soon, we can assume they have been successful!

Snowyowl78 · 21/11/2024 16:45

That’s interesting @mizu ! Sounds very inflated on price. Be interested if anyone cares about their pop up as assume it’s a relatively unknown brand.

Stravaig · 21/11/2024 18:55

Gosh, there's nothing in this week's selection that I'd choose for me. A few things my mother might possibly find appealing. Given a couple of nights in the Cotswolds is also included, which I'm unlikely to get to, I think I'm best sitting this one out.

Good luck to everyone who is tempted!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 21/11/2024 19:09

@Stravaig Too much wool for me, I’m allergic, I chose the trainers and everything else was potential Christmas presents.

My reworn Mary Jane’s have been dispatched already, yet the full price mules I ordered on Monday were nearly 48 hours before they were dispatched.

PyreneanAubrie · 21/11/2024 20:07

I lost the thread, sorry. Need to catch up.

I've just received a Toast discount code, which rather took me by surprise because I've only ever made 4 orders...

IlovePond · 21/11/2024 20:11

Good grief @PyreneanAubrie - you are honoured indeed!

PyreneanAubrie · 21/11/2024 20:13

Aren't I just, @IlovePond 😆I needed a lie down after opening my email.

IlovePond · 21/11/2024 20:28

😹😹😹@PyreneanAubrie Can I ask how much of a discount they are offering you?

IlovePond · 21/11/2024 20:29

So, it’s Thursday again and that made me think of a possible upcoming sale. Are we thinking next Thursday, (or maybe early access Wednesday)?

Edited

Ah, you see, knowing my luck, I'll use the discount code for an item which will then immediately appear in the sale. That happens every single time I order anything from Jackson's Art Supplies....🙄

faustina · 21/11/2024 20:42

Do tell us what you're going to buy @PyreneanAubrie ! maybe your expiration date means a sale will start on Wednesday?

I've just ordered the little Bleu de Chauffe black bag. I ummed and ahhed so long about which colour to pick that the other one sold out online. Apparently it's still in stock in some shops so I could call them to send but I think I'm going to wait til the black one arrives. I don't suppose anyone has the other colour (a reddish/brown)? If you could take a pic for me I'd be so grateful. Toast have deleted all details from their website

IlovePond · 21/11/2024 21:01

Thanks @PyreneanAubrie

Mmm, could be early access to a sale Wednesday pm…

PyreneanAubrie · 21/11/2024 21:14

Probably just another Freya dress @faustina It's a useful layering garment for me. I do love the Kantha pinafore but it's a little out of my reach.

Snowyowl78 · 22/11/2024 04:29

I think th sale may be next week, last year was the 27th Nov. Looking back at my orders though, I ordered 5 things and sent them all back! It was late summer sort of stuff. That ecru tie waist jacket, the indigo jumpsuit that was like a pinafore with wide legs, a summer coral print dress.

Bailiwitch · 22/11/2024 07:06

The last time I bought anything beyond soap and Christmas decorations full price at Toast must have been around 2012. They seem to have so many sales … I had to unsubscribe from the mailing list - and it would have been unthinkable to waste money on something that would inevitably be massively reduced in three weeks’ time.

But with my recent purchases - I wanted to wear the coat now, and after a staggeringly stressful year didn’t want the worry of whether it might sell out in my size. (There were around a dozen left online at that point.) And now I’m just a brisk walk away from the store I’ll either have to ban myself from entering it, or resign myself to impulse buys every time I set foot inside it. Anyway, those paper stars are going to look magnificent at my windows come December …

Snowyowl78 · 22/11/2024 07:59

This is sensible @Bailiwitch for most seasonal things. I would say though that not everything goes into the sale. Eg some of my most worn things are permanently full price and it would seem will never go into the sale- eg. The Gabis, the v neck jersey black dress, slate neat linen jacket etc. but I would say seasonal things usually go into sale, eg. Coats, also pyjamas, but when you don’t want them but like you say they could easily be sold out by the time you are able to buy in the sale.

mizu · 22/11/2024 08:18

Oh that v neck black jersey dress is such a staple. I have worn and worn.

Snowyowl78 · 22/11/2024 08:37

@mizu I have a spare one waiting in the wings! I have redyed the original one as it got a bit ‘washed’. Has yours retained its colour?

mizu · 22/11/2024 08:53

@Snowyowl78 tbh I've tried not to wash it too much! It has faded for sure. I've just put it away until spring so will take another look then.

It is such a good in between seasons dress. I wore to work most of this term with a cardigan or little jumper and bare legs with trainers. And so, so comfortable.

Snowyowl78 · 22/11/2024 08:57

@mizu im going to be more careful now to wash it properly cold. It dyed well though, you have to take the buttons off and then sew them back on. I usually wear a tshirt under so shouldn’t have to wash it much.

mizu · 22/11/2024 08:58

@Snowyowl78 oh yes I've only ever washed on a 30 degree wash for fear of it shrinking!

IlovePond · 22/11/2024 10:13

Also, Celtic&Co have another one of their codes with no minimum spend, (you may remember I posted the £15 one last year and some of us got sheepskin insoles!)

This one is for £20, but it doesn’t work on everything, (and not on sale stuff). The cheapest thing I have managed to redeem it against is a rather nice pair of Welsh knitted socks. Normal price is £28 plus £4.95. With the discount they come to £12.95 incl postage.

I think it’s a multi use code:

KXMAS24

Might be handy for a stocking filler.

Stravaig · 22/11/2024 10:34

I think they may have noticed us last year! I just tried a pair of insoles £15 + P&P but it can't apply a £20 discount to a £19.95 basket :D
