I don’t think it’s that clear, is it @Countmeout? I must confess I am all in favour of personal sets of cutlery!

I chose the cutlery, (however many pieces), the plates, the candlesticks, the candles and the dress.

Countmeout · 07/11/2024 19:53

I went for the cutlery, plates, jug and dress.

Cutlery, plates, jug, cushions and candles. 🙏🏽

Stravaig · 07/11/2024 19:55

Maybe it is a set of each available option? Though a bit unusual to offer cake knife and serving set with a small knife/fork but only one place setting! Luxurious though, and would be fabulous with my modified stoneware choice :)

TosstTastic · 07/11/2024 20:10

I was at Ross Vegas Bailey's beautiful store https://baileyshome.com/pages/find-us

And the woman In front bought the most crazy impractical multiple set of knives & forks on the basis they'd be fun for Christmas.
I bought a singular set for a cheese board situation but I hear her voice every time I spot them.
Trust me, if you enjoy toast, you'll adore a mooch around Bailey's

That looks nice @TosstTastic ! Nowhere near me unfortunately though. I have made my choice but really and truly I just like the pitcher and the velvet seat cushions. No need for either but they are things of beauty!

mizu · 07/11/2024 20:43

@TosstTastic my sis has just moved to a village a couple of miles away from Ross so a great excuse for me to visit ☺️

Stravaig · 07/11/2024 20:57

If anyone is swithering over buying the cutlery (if you don't win it :) — I bought some from Toast a very long time ago, albeit in a different style. Very rustic, hand-forged feel, with round handles which I adore.

It's indestructible, I still love it, and it's currently in use, while the fancypants very different but also lovely Welch Honeybourne is bundled up at the bottom of a box.

If I add up all the small moments of everyday pleasure over so many years, it's easily my best Toast purchase.

IlovePond · 07/11/2024 20:57

Looks lovely @TosstTastic

IlovePond · 07/11/2024 20:58

They had some at KC @Stravaig - I wish I had looked at it propnoe🙀

TosstTastic · 07/11/2024 21:01

@mizu you absolutely have to call it 'Ross Vegas'
with a little hint of Elvis at all times and I absolutely recommend Warehouse 701 towards Hereford, just really nice people.
(I live in Cornwall so not local to Hereford or Toast! )

IlovePond · 07/11/2024 21:04

I hate autocorrect- I swear my phone is getting worse - ‘properly’ !🙈

Stravaig · 07/11/2024 21:18

@IlovePond Try a single setting now, so you can be ready to swoop in during a sale? That's how I ended up with mine - saw, loved, tried, returned, waited hopefully, gave up. Then suddenly reduced, generously, which meant settings for all, instead of just one or two.

IlovePond · 07/11/2024 21:28

I will watch out for them @Stravaig - it’s good to get a personal recommendation!

mizu · 07/11/2024 21:33

@TosstTastic thank you! I'm going to do some research as I have a friend in Hereford too but have only ever driven there and back to her place and not explored at all!

Netcam · 07/11/2024 21:42

Hello from me

ToastCosILoveIt · 07/11/2024 21:49

@TosstTastic , I went to Baileys a good few years ago when we were staying nearby for a weekend. What a treasuretrove it was. I bought a few bits, including a huge basket with handles which I keep my Toast blankets in by the sofa.

oddandelsewhere · 08/11/2024 06:52

How lovely to see Bailey's mentioned @TosstTastic ! It's my favourite shop near here . If I see someone else prowling and laden with baskets and other lovely things dressed in Toast I'll wonder if it's you. My children are huge fans too, it's right on the road back to London from here and they always stuff their tiny cars with seemingly impossibly large coffee tables etc on their way back.
I'm trying to have Christmas completely organised in the next two weeks so I think I need to have a little out ing there this weekend.

MsDastardley · 08/11/2024 07:11

@Poplinskirt I bought the black denim skirt when it came out. Was pleased with it when I tried on, very flattering. Wore it for first time last week, omg it was so uncomfortable after a few hours on. It’s heavy, and the double layer of denim around waist dug in and I had red welts above my hips by end of day. Hopefully it will soften up after a couple more wears, but I’m put off wearing it for now.

I bought the denim patch pocket skirt at same time, and that’s really comfortable to wear. Had several compliments too.

Oh crikey!
Some of the reviews did say it was neat on the waist
compared to the hips?
What size did you get in relation to your real life size?
Thanks for the feedback @MsDastardley

DieDreiHexen · 08/11/2024 09:50

Good morning. I'm new to Toast, and to this thread. Joined because I bought the best pair of wide leg cropped jeans (the Annie denim crops) last month. Have barely been out of them since.

What other items would Toast aficionados suggest might work for me? I'm 5'4', size 12 with a bit of a tum. I like classic styles, rich colours, lovely soft fabrics. Apart from Toast, I shop at Poetry, Jigsaw and The White Company for knitwear, Seasalt for trousers, and struggle to find dresses anywhere as I like a shorter style with a fitted waist. I'm getting quite into shirts, especially silk.

Any suggestions for Toast styles I could try would be great.

IlovePond · 08/11/2024 10:28

Morning,@DieDreiHexen Toast are currently in a mostly ‘long dresses’ phase except for their loungewear dresses and their Xmas dresses, which are usually shorter.

I think you might get on with their loungewear dresses - ignore the name - they can be worn outside imo.

Lots of shirts on the site atm, including this one:

and this:

Here’s an example of a ‘shorter’ Xmas dress:

Here’s an example of shorter loungewear:

faustina · 08/11/2024 13:09

@DieDreiHexen - if you love the Annie style so much, maybe you could buy another pair in a different fabric? They usually do a corduroy version as well as denim. Hope you find something lovely!

Countmeout · 08/11/2024 16:24

Is that the full length cords you bought @OftenOrange ? They seem terribly long for my height but look lovely.

@DieDreiHexen I am 5’4” too. I like the Alix trousers. I have also had recent success with a Toast pyjama style shirt in cotton /silk from eBay.

OP posts:
OftenOrange · 08/11/2024 16:52

@Countmeout Yes the full length Annie cords are long . I’m 5 ‘ 5 ‘’ and they could do with an inch off , but I’m reserving judgement as I have my eye on some boots with a block heel ….
@DieDreiHexen I love the Annie denim crops too ,and as above can recommend the same style in full length cord.
I haven’t had much success with the other shapes recently because they just don’t look as good, but in Summer Iike wearing what were called ballon trousers in linen because they drape nicely .
