It certainly is @faustina 😹😹😹 - full on elf mode for me on Thursday at work - just need to decide on legwear as I haven’t gone as far as green/red/whited striped tights - yet!

For me it’s not Xmas without multiple ridiculous jumpers. (I also have a sideline in gingerbread men, Santa, snowmen, snowflake and reindeer earrings!)

That reminds me, it‘s nippy here atm, I must dig out my Toast woolly blanket for the bed!

Now I really want a Christmas jumper

IlovePond · 17/12/2024 22:15

Once you have succumbed @Netcam it’s a slippery slope! I started off a few years ago with a rather expensive woolly one with a bear on the front and it was all downhill from there 😹

I don't know how I've made it to almost 55 having never had a Christmas jumper. But I might as well do it while I can.

IlovePond · 17/12/2024 22:50

Go for it @Netcam - you’ll never look back 😹

mizu · 18/12/2024 07:12

I've been wearing this to work this week which is kind of Christmassy, it's not particularly fitted but a bit more fitted than the looser dresses I usually wear. Long sleeved top and tights and boots.

IlovePond · 18/12/2024 07:15

Oh I like that dress @mizu - it’s lovely!

Stravaig · 18/12/2024 07:22

That's perfect @mizu - it evokes a forest full of conifers, or a single tree shimmering with lights and baubles, dependent on scale/mood.

I decided I didn't want to spend a fortune on one, but wanted wool. I just ordered this: www.houseofbruar.com/lds-christmas-swtr-red/?sessionid=f0f53252208831e5880702fd5c407123a475a829

Netcam · 18/12/2024 08:29

I really liked the look of this one, but if I was going to spend that much on a jumper I could find nicer ones at that price, so decided against it: www.campbellsofbeauly.com/shop/snowflake-crew-jumper/#reviews

IlovePond · 18/12/2024 08:46

They are both nice @Netcam

Thanks, for £34.99 it doesn't need to be amazing, but for 100% wool with a nice Christmassy pattern it seemed like the best option. It might not arrive in time for Christmas this year, but at least I'll be prepared for next year's work Christmas party. And I'm going for my usual 'buy jumpers in the sale for next winter'.

OrangeyLemon · 18/12/2024 09:39

Lovely dress @mizu - it does look Christmassy now that we're near Christmas, but not so Christmassy that you couldn't wear it at any time of year. Great jumper too @Netcam 🌲
The email from Toast about the last posting date has got my hopes up for a sale a bit earlier than we were thinking, but that is probably foolish!

Netcam · 18/12/2024 10:34

@OrangeyLemon, agree going for Christmas colours is a nice, subtle way of celebrating the season. In fact I realise I've been wearing these 2 jumpers the past couple of weeks, maybe an unconscious Christmas choice.

Over the Christmas period I'm going to wear my new as yet unworn Celtic and Co purchases, a teal wool jumper dress and a raspberry alpaca/wool silk cardigan. DS20 will be back from uni today but he will probably just say I dress like an old person despite what I think are lovely clothes!

Nice knitwear @Netcam

triggers34 · 18/12/2024 16:15

De lurking to ask is Toast ever faked ?
The only reason I ask is that I've just received a red corduroy Franca dress from eBay It's lovely but it did cost £90 the fabric label looks different not cottony like the normal ones - admittedly I've only got 4 Toast items . If anyone has this dress I'd be grateful to compare labels .

Countmeout · 18/12/2024 17:26

Some shifting round of items on website. Sale prep????

OP posts:
Stoic123 · 18/12/2024 17:31

@triggers34 - might be worth sharing picture of label anyway. Folks might recognise similar style from other items.

The red cord Franca was gorgeous (AW 2018) 😍

IlovePond · 18/12/2024 17:32

@triggers34 - I am not aware of any fake Toast out there, but I guess it’s possible. It’s also possible that it’s a sample, (although, one, those tend to be good quality as the makers are ‘selling themselves’)

Hopefully someone can help!

Stravaig · 18/12/2024 17:38

Oh! The Thanks button has evolved into a React button, with clap, thumbs up, heart and let me show you my tonsils options. (Not sure about that last one :)

Two recent red Franca sales via eBay Advanced Search do show very different labels on the listings, but no idea if that means one is inauthentic. Odds are good that someone here has a Franca collection though, it's such a gorgeous style!

IlovePond · 18/12/2024 17:43

That startled me too @Stravaig 😹

Stravaig · 18/12/2024 17:47

IlovePond · 18/12/2024 17:43

That startled me too @Stravaig 😹

I don't know what to use for acknowledgement/thanks now! Clap feels sarcastic for general use, thumbs up more of an okay than appreciation, and the open-mouth guy, is that a big grin? Help!!! 🤣

Stravaig · 18/12/2024 17:53

Oh, they have labels, once you've chosen one!

Clap is Thanks.
Thumbs Up is Agree.
Heart is Love.
Tonsils is Funny.

Sorry to @IlovePond for the flurry of notifications as I tried them all in turn :D

Stravaig · 18/12/2024 18:02

No laughing youngsters, I wrote my first code as a kid in the 80's, I'm emoticons first and always =:p

IlovePond · 18/12/2024 18:13

Thanks for the explanation @Stravaig . What was wrong with the Thanks button??? I hate the clap 👏 emoji - just seems sarcastic to me🙀
