We still have a few weeks to go but we are up to thread 6.

Will we get any good Black Friday discounts?

I received an email about 3 Cult Beauty Stocking Filler edits. Make up, Skincare, Haircare.

They are nice for £25 each. Would make a nice gift and the bag is cute.

The bag is gorgeous , I bought the make up one as not sure I need any more skin or hair care.

Growlybear83 · 08/11/2024 10:45

I'd got to my sixties before I'd ever used anything on my face apart from Neals Yard beauty balm but then I discovered beauty advent calendars and got hooked. I've tried loads of things since then but the overnight cream that I love more than any other is Whind Kasbah Moonlight which I got in a BBC mystery bag earlier this year. It really suits my skin and feels lovely. It's cheap compared with many of the more popular brands and I've picked up a couple more pots of it on Vinted for a tenner. But I'm really enjoying trying loads of new things 😆

QueefofSheena · 08/11/2024 10:55

I’ve just had a sort through of my stash and got rid of things that are getting a bit elderly. I seem to have lots of blushers and individual eye shadows that I’ve used a couple of times but can’t remember when. I’m also actively using ‘good’ stuff. I’ve just used all the Dr BS small sizes and I’ve moved on to Votary during the day and Luna serum at night. By next advent season I should be ready to replenish my stores.

MidnightMeltdown · 08/11/2024 10:57

@bizzey I try to store stuff in the order that I got it, so advent 2023 item will be together for example. I like to try to use the oldest stuff first and if I stored it together then I would soon forget!

Oh boots have beauty baubles instock, a bit like the crackers full of products. They have a prep and prime, glam and glowing, and all hours luxury baubles with 6-8 beauty items in for £20.00 each.

I got a set of stacking drawers from Amazon recently that are really good - brand is vtopmart.

(sadly I filled them with all the products I have and immediately put myself on a beauty advent calendar buying ban! 😥)

Doubleraspberry · 08/11/2024 11:39

Hmm. Less happy with Bridal Beauty now as I've had notifications to say the package, that I cancelled, is being delivered today. They have also charged me and not refunded the money this week. I've emailed them twice to ask if I can refuse delivery or whether I need to go through the refund process but had no reply. So this is going to cause me inconvenience and they've had my money.

I had a cancellation confirmation and no notification of anything being despatched so I'm hoping it's a combination of a slow refund back to my card and a mixed up Royal Mail, but without them replying to my emails I just have to wait for this box to be delivered now.

JudgeBurrito · 08/11/2024 11:58

I think the Boots baubles are actually better than the CB stocking fillers. I'm not buying anything, I really do have enough.

Doubleraspberry · 08/11/2024 12:18

I've refused delivery - I have to say it looked a lot smaller than the box I'd ordered would have done so I'm wondering if it was a total mix up. Hopefully they can refund me now.

IlovePond · 08/11/2024 12:20

Very disappointing @Doubleraspberry - I really hope you can get it sorted 🤞

Waffles21 · 08/11/2024 12:44

My Bridal beauty mystery box arrived today, it’s quite different to pps with some great full sizes including Murad vit c glycolic serum, Qms epicentre pollution rescue overnight mask, Kate Somerville goat milk moisturising cleanser, Medik8 crystal retinol 6, Hair gain scalp foam, Charlotte tilbury glowgasm,
Qms advanced collagen serum in oil, Murad cellular hydration repair serum and a few other bits oh and the penhaligons portrait set.
I’ve not used any of these brands ( other than CT before) and have totted it up to be worth around £700 so pretty chuffed! I may look to sell the scalp foam but look forward to trying the others. Def less hair care ( a frizz oil will which will be sold on and the scalp foam is it)

Can you do a charge back via your bank seeing as they took money/ didn't refund after confirming cancelation of the sale? Worth a try.
They sound dodgy af glad I wasn't tempted by the mystery box. Reckon they would have tempted me had it been cheaper.

Doubleraspberry · 08/11/2024 12:55

TBF the boxes that people are getting sound great. But this is all a bit stressy. Hopefully refusing delivery and sending it back will prompt the money to be refunded finally but if not I'll raise a bank dispute. I've got the cancellation confirmation.

Unrulyrabbit · 08/11/2024 13:01

Uncanny how every time a poster articulates doubts or a problem with the BB boxes, another poster immediately jumps on with post about how absolutely amazing their box is.. it's almost as though they have a team of marketers religiously monitoring the thread 🤔

TokyoSushi · 08/11/2024 13:01

This is THE WORST THREAD I HAVE EVER KNOWN for pointing out so, so many beautiful things, gah, I love them alllllllllll!!!!! Grin

Waffles21 · 08/11/2024 13:05

Hi @Unrulyrabbit bad timing on my part, I hadn’t read the earlier posts but I assure you I don’t work for any beauty suppliers! @Doubleraspberry im so sorry to hear the problems you’ve had, that’s really rubbish, I hope you get them sorted out and so sorry, I hadn’t read your post before writing mine 🥴

Doubleraspberry · 08/11/2024 13:15

That’s OK, @Waffles21! Your box does sound very good. 😁

RosaMoline · 08/11/2024 13:32

I got my Harvey Nicks one today & absolutely thrilled with it. What a great service from the Edinburgh store (it was sold out online)
I open all the windows straightaway, always have done 🤫

What fabulous service and fast delivery from Harvey Nicks!

IlovePond · 08/11/2024 15:10

Hi, I went to see the M&S calendar irl today. It actually looks ok - nice bag - but not worth £50 plus a £35 spend imo. (I am still struggling to get past that leg spray!)

However, I am very weak, so I tried on a Xmas jumper anyway as I have a decent Sparks offer atm for 15% off knitwear and also off underwear! I really liked it, but as I already have at least 15 Xmas jumpers - most of which are also quite nice - I left it.

Feeling quite virtuous but don’t expect my resolve will last beyond BF.

I've been good this week and haven't succumbed to anything. A brief wobble this morning over the Cult Beauty bags as I have a voucher which would make them £20 but I have such a stash to now work through there isn't really a product in existence I don't have some equivalent of, or at least it feels that way!

Not sure how my resolve will hold during BF but I've decided it has to be something spectacular if I go for anything else.

narniabusiness · 08/11/2024 16:06

Can anyone remember if there’s a good (ie pricey) eye cream in any of the calendars that are still available? It’s the only thing I’ve run out of and I desperately want the excuse for buying one 🤣

IlovePond · 08/11/2024 16:12

Those Cult bags are nice @OvaHere - not sure I could have resisted with a discount!
