I can report my refund is through and the BB people are happy that I declined delivery. So all is well.

just got the M&S one too.

My BB festive box arrived today- I’m very happy. Will tot up the value whilst I have my after work cuppa.

I crashed and burned over the cult beauty bags today , I had a £25 voucher from buying another set from them recently .. so I basically was going to get one free .. I chose the makeup one as I have too much skincare and I think my skin might be getting sensitive/ triggering my peri oral dermatitis by using too many different creams !

So. When I added it to the bag , ANOTHER edit appeared saying I could get it for £30. You can guess the rest!!

So that's 3 cult beauty edits in the last fortnight !

Re: M&S calendar. They had lots on the shop floor in the small local store near me. I am wondering if M&S might drop the required spend if they don’t sell out soon, (as they did near me a couple of years ago).

I might be tempted to get it in a couple of weeks without a minimum spend and if I don’t succumb to anything else in the meantime, (unlikely, tbh 🙀)

Value to buy, taking into account available discounts is coming in at about £614. Without applying discounts, about £720. Im happy. I love QMS and for these two products alone I am over the moon.

I'm disappointed one of the CB edits has removed the candle in favour of a tiny perfume oil. I would have purchased with the candle.

Despite my haul I am still looking at the OK deal, what is wrong with me 😆

I do agree with a pp that this is the best time to get bargains and stock up . I am making a list for Black Friday proper , but that is boring repurchase things . All the edits are so exciting though! Like toys for grown ups !

Bit controversial maybe but...When I am trying to lose a few pounds ( I tend to yo-yo a bit ) I allow myself a lucky dip out of an edit / gwp box I keep in my wardrobe , every morning I lose a pound !!
Kind of like the people who put a pebble in a jar but MUCH more exciting

I solemnly swear that I'm not a bridal beauty marketer, but my box has arrived and I am delighted with it. I had a vogue AC last year and nothing was speaking to me this year! The plan is to reuse my box and DH will fill the drawers. This is exactly what I wanted, not a nail varnish in sight!!

Yes I had a box last year. I wrote a reasonable but not glowing review giving three stars.
Just had a look and my review is not on their website but five star reviews from the year before are still there.

@Fairyliz That’s interesting. I said in a post up thread that I distrust companies who don’t post negative or middling reviews - it’s impossible that every customer who writes a review for whichever company is equally ecstatic about the contents/service, etc.

That said, people’s boxes from the place in question do seem good. I am desperate to try some Penhaligon’s perfumes!

@IlovePond I wrote one of the recent reviews and was asked to verify it, I know that doesn’t hold much weight as it is just an email to you from a third party.
I dread to mention them due to all the issues but they are launching a Christmas Edit tomorrow and from the sneak peak on Instagram it looks like the Penhaligons is in it…worst case people will be selling them on Vinted/Ebay.

@IlovePond it's worth a trip into a department store. I went to Fenwick's recently and tried some Le Labo, Byredo and Penhaligons scents that are always praised on here. I didn't particularly like any of them! Penhaligons Halfeti was particularly bad, just not a scent I like. Maybe I'm a basic bitch but I'll stick to Diptyque and Jo Malone 😂

I've just seen that l'artisan parfumeur have released an advent calendar. It's a similar price to Jo Malone and the other fragrance calendars. I'm wishing now that I hadn't got my 2023 Penhaligons and my Jarrolds calendars - I can't possibly buy another one!

I agree with you about Halfeti @JudgeBurrito - I really don't like it. I do like some of the other Penhaligons fragrances especially Solaris, but I generally prefer Jo Loves, Jo Malone, and Diptique.

@MrsBnow12 - thanks for the input; of course I believe you! I believe the good reviews on the site too, I just suspect that some companies have a policy of suppressing those reviews that are not as glowing as they could be.

I myself have left middling to poor reviews for items from a particular clothing company that have mysteriously never been published, whereas my favourable ones appear almost instantly, so I know it happens. I suspect the computer system, (or however it works 🤷‍♀️), of some places is set to weed out all but 4/5 star reviews.

I am very interested in the BBC’s boxes myself; I just couldn’t ever spend £150 on a mystery box as I would want to know what I was getting at that price point.
