We still have a few weeks to go but we are up to thread 6.

Will we get any good Black Friday discounts?

Or they sent it too early. Wonder if it was meant to go live tomorrow or friday?

Glossybox were bad for sending out codes that didn't work. It one of the reasons I cancelled after trying a few boxes. It starts to feel like a ploy to get you on the site with a basket ready to go - a proportion of people in that scenario will probably end up buying even without the code.

Hopefully this is a rare error on the part of SpaceNK.

I wasn't planning to. I've gone for Space NK this year.

I had a black Friday deal on the river island website, put stuff in my basket all ready to go went back to the home page to get the code and it had gone, seems a few retailers are messing us about

Space NK codes weren't working, so I went and checked the Glossier site which was the makeup brand items I was ordering for my daughter. Delighted to discover that the Glossier site BF deals had bigger discounts on the same items on their own site. Win, win!

Am feeling a bit grumpy: I got one Hourglass eyeshadow to try but could only find a three palette case in JL. Never mind, I thought, I’ll get another couple of shades later.

Today I wore the single eyeshadow for the first time and a few hours later it was all over my cheeks and looked awful.

I am not impressed😼

Plus, having two empty spaces is annoying me!

I know @OchonAgusOchonOh - I have never had that problem before with an eyeshadow and it’s supposed to be such a good brand 🙀

I originally bought a single case online but it never turned up, so I stupidly bought the bigger case in store as I wanted to try the eyeshadow.

Has anyone else experienced this with Hourglass eyeshadow?

I've only tried the hourglass blusher and I loved it. I bought one last week too replace it.

@IlovePond I wear hourglass eyeshadows (both the pan and pots) and have never had that happen. I’ve used them for long days, events and on humid holidays. I don’t do anything special either like prime or set.

That’s really strange and disappointing as they’re not cheap. I hope if you try again it does a better job.

I have a travel-sized ambient lighting one to try @OchonAgusOchonOh - hope it’s nice.

Will try the eyeshadow again tomorrow and see what happens…

When do advent calendars go on sale? Surely after 1st Dec? I know there won't be many, if any, beauty calendars but perhaps it coukd tempt me into a extra chocolate one too 🐽👀

I don't think there is specific day they go on sale but for sure there will be some in early December. Many of the popular including chocolate are sold out

We had good few of the perfume advent calendars but I am afraid they are all open, divided by 3 of us at home, sold those that I won't be using. I will read what others think of their goodies.

I have Space NK that will be my main advent, and I will open form 1st. I also have Harvey Nichols but I have not decided to open it now or after SpaceNK so may give this discussion a miss.

Of course if there is one main one that is mixed - I will read that too.

I don't get the before 7am spoilers at all. If you don't want to read spoilers, don't read the discussion before 7 am? It's not that hard. If the post is as 6:45 for example, it's safe to assume it's about that day. Why read, log on when you are ready. I will be opening my Space NK in the evening, if I want to avoid spoilers I just won't open the specific discussion until the evening. And if it happens that I accidently read about it on mixed discussion, well it's not life and death situation - it's advent calendar.

@MiaN I agree with you about the 7am thing. Obviously nobody should post the entire contents of the calendar on day 1 but so long as it's on the day, it doesn't really matter whether it's 1am or 11pm.

The posts that drive me mad are the ones that don't even say what the day's item is because they are cautious of putting in a spoiler. If I'm reading the thread, particularly if it's a calendar I don't have, I want to know what was in the drawer and preferably see a photo.
