We still have a few weeks to go but we are up to thread 6.

Will we get any good Black Friday discounts?

Space NK have launched their BF offers - 25% of a variety of products. Nothing is jumping out as amazing but for some brands it might be cheaper than elsewhere.

Tatcha for example are only offering 20% on their own website deals so it would be cheaper to buy from Space NK.

Cult Beauty's Black Friday deals are much better. Space NK is disappointing this year as they often have the same deals.

I agree, I have ordered the Cult Beauty Bag of Tricks as thought for £86 it was great value and the little pouches are great gifts for under £20.

Hi, do people think that’s ‘it’ for CB reductions or is there likely to be a 3 4 2 offer or 30% off on BF itself?

I am contemplating an eyeshadow order and wondering whether to hold my nerve and hope it doesn’t sell out, or go for it.

Thanks

Thelifeofawife · 26/11/2024 21:43

Meh. I was going to treat myself to an Hourglass palette after originally not even considering it due to the cost. But since trying it IRL at the weekend I was swayed, and with the discount and my account credit it would have come down to approx £50. Alas the shade I want is out of stock

All I know is I wasn't queuing to get in 😂

I don't think I would queue outside any shops now after the fisticuffs at Harrods the day the advent calendars went on sale this year! 😆😆

IlovePond · 27/11/2024 00:21

I do like that CB beauty edit, but I have so much stuff already. If I am not careful, stuff will go off before I get chance to use it.

With hindsight, I think I’d rather have bought that edit for £86 and got my DH to put it into a refilled a/c for me, rather than all the other stuff I’ve bought. Maybe I’ll do something like that next year instead of an a/c.

On a related note: I’ve just remembered that I seem to have ordered a GBox one month subscription last night. It was £8.50 with a discount. There’s a Gurum offer available with it too, but I object to having to order it separately and pay postage!

MonkeyTennis34 · 27/11/2024 07:39

I did a pre-AC clear out of my beauty products yesterday. Felt so good!

I now have 2 half full (rather than overflowing) beauty baskets in my bathroom cupboard.

Opened products I didn't want were given to DD.
Unopened ones will be donated to the women's' refuge.

Feeling very worthy and ready for 1st December 🎄

LF has some offers which look good.

And I saw a Cult Beauty offer on Tik Tok which is Play for Thrills for £23. Seems a good deal...

I think Play for Thrills is down to £18.75 via Cult Beauty directly, I bought it when it launched and at £25 was happy so think £18.75 is a really good price.
Actually if you are looking at Chic Thrills that is also really good at £22.50

OvaHere · 27/11/2024 09:16

Shiseido website 55% off strengthening trio which includes full size Ultimate Serum Concentrate. Was £89 now £40

Code CYBERVIP

I saw those yesterday. The skincare one seems to have sold out but the make up and the hair ones are great for under £20 with the cute bag. I was tempted as I thought about getting the make up one when it came out.

Problem is I'm at the point where I have at least one or more versions of every product to use up. I fancied the Westman Atelier blush but really it's remarkably similar in style and colour to a Milk cream blush I got in another calendar or edit so I'm dangerously close to owning things for the sake of owning them. I've probably actually crossed that line if I'm being totally truthful with myself.

@OvaHere I am pretty sure I didn’t need either of them but somehow managed to buy both. Personally I think the edits are a great way to try new brands and different things without paying full price for an item and then discovering you actually don’t like it after using it for a while.
Edited to add I do sell things I know 100% not for me… that lip liner being one that went straight onto Vinted.

OvaHere · 27/11/2024 09:57

Anyone have experience with Boots customer service and refunds/replacements?

The other week I bought 2 Lumene products and a xmas gift set on £10 Tuesday. It was sent in 2 packages. I got the first package with one Lumene item but the other with the further 2 items never arrived.

I logged on yesterday to check and followed the Royal Mail tracking - it's showing as delivered last week but the proof of delivery photo is not me or my house.

I've contacted Boots by email and am waiting to hear back. Are they likely to replace? From their POV they could argue it was delivered and it's difficult for me to prove otherwise.

Now you're just enabling me! 😂

You're right, that's exactly the purpose of them. I end up feeling guilty about finding something I like better and abandoning an item half used. That's probably a me issue.

psuedocream3 · 27/11/2024 10:33

Feeling a bit gutted that the Harrods 12 days of hair and body has sold out. I had asked my husband to purchase for my birthday or for Christmas, and I know he hasn't got around to buying anything yet. I knew I should have bought it myself.

If it helps, I have both that Westman Atelier blusher and a Milk one. The Milk one is much creamier and easier to blend. I was slightly disappointed by the WA one - it is drier than my WA highlighters. Very pretty packaging though.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 27/11/2024 12:30

Update from HN. There isn't another calendar anywhere so she is sending me the stash from the ordinary calendar. She will ask them to post today. I must say, thus far I am really impressed with the customer service. It makes such a difference. I'll be sending an email to the store manager to let them know how good she was.

I ordered the Lumene oil on the £10 Tuesday promotion & it’s not even been dispatched 😕

I would contact them. I got the oil - that was the item that did arrive.

Good news though. Boots have replied to my email and dispatched me replacement products no quibbling. Can't fault that for customer service really.

Edit - I think it was serum and not oil I ordered.

That's what I need - solid bit of de-influencing! 😁

@OchonAgusOchonOh good outcomes. The beauty advent has Xerjoff, MFK Le Labo goodies in it.

IlovePond · 27/11/2024 15:08

That sounds promising @OchonAgusOchonOh !

OchonAgusOchonOh · 27/11/2024 15:39

Yes, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm not sure if I'm getting all the perfumes from the advent but she listed a load of stuff so definitely a good proportion.
