We still have a few weeks to go but we are up to thread 6.

Will we get any good Black Friday discounts?

They definitely have a lot more in them than mine.

They shouldn't be selling floor models that were accessible to open & test at all. I will check mine tonight

Yes it is the Black Friday mystery box. They also have 25% some of their other edits.
I use Tarte Shape Tape concealer, I bought a mini first to make sure it worked before committing to a full size one.

They were displayed on a table with one calendar open and the contents on display. But as the calendars aren't sealed, the contents can be accessed by anyone. Not great really. They should seal them in some way.

I spoke to a very nice woman in customer service but unfortunately, while it is a Dublin number, it goes through to UK CS so nobody could check if the ones on display were full. She told me to email CS and include photos, which I have done. Fingers crossed they can sort it out.

Customer service in Harvey Nicks got back to me and asked for my phone number for the Dublin store to call me and sort out the issue. Fingers crossed.

The way I see it is, problems/mistakes happen. It's how they're dealt with that affects my attitude to the company.

Update on the calendar.

They phoned me from Dublin. She offered me a refund but that's no good as I don't live in Dublin so can't return it. She also said she would try other stores to see did anyone have any left. She sold the one that was on display yesterday so she can't send me any bits from that.

I did mention that on the UK website, they do a 10ml of the Veronique Gabai oud elexir so she will try to get that one in for me. I said I'd be happy to get sample sizes of the BDK to make up the volume I should have, so she said she will get organise some travel size bits for me. So we'll see what she comes up with but so far, I'm satisfied with the way they are dealing with it and hopefully I will have a full calendar by the time I open it.

I'm really sorry that this has happened - how disappointing for you. But it sounds as though HN are doing everything they can to put things as right as they can be. Hopefully you might get a couple of little extras for your inconvenience.

Thanks. But yes, they are responding quickly and certainly seem to be doing their best to resolve it.

The woman I spoke to on the phone was the woman who sold me the calendar and she remembered me, which was helpful as she know the calendars were behind the one on display and that I hadn't been at them.

And yes, here's to an extra or two😀

@OchonAgusOchonOh CS have the power to turn an unpleasant experience into a positive for any company. I wish they would all realise this and act accordingly .

For example, if I was HN now, I would send you lots of samples and a free full size bottle of your choice from the ones that have been messed with - they’re a multi million pound company - good PR is priceless!

Re: HN - some of you may remember the unsealed and clearly used/squeezed Le Labo lip cream I received. I did get a full refund, but you think they’d have noticed at the packing stage, (unless that was who did it🙀)

Absolutely. I completely agree. It's amazing how many companies don't seem to realise the impact good/bad CS makes. I'm still boycotting LF 4 years later but if HN continue the way the have started, I will be ordering from them whenever possible.

I had another phone call. They have a calendar on hold in Leeds so she is going to see can she get that transferred. If not, she has pulled what sounded like all the perfumes from the regular calendar and will send them to me instead. To be honest, I'd be happy with either.

Sounds like she is going out of her way to make it right. Glad they are sorting it out for you. The LF order and attitude few years ago was dreadful

Yes, LF incorrectly deducted £5 of reward points off me earlier this year and CS refused to reinstate them. I wasn’t impressed.

More recently, I had to message five or six times about a missing mystery box before it was resolved.

I don’t think I would trust LF with a big order anymore.

Not ACs, but selfridges are currently doing a few different beauty boxes with 20% off. I just got the bridal one and the relaxation one, both about 10 decent items in, £120 in total with the discount.
