We still have a few weeks to go but we are up to thread 6.

Will we get any good Black Friday discounts?

Does anyone remember from previous years if Liberty might have another GWP this year? It looks like their last one was last month so I'm guessing not but I want to get the giant Diptyque Sapin candle and am hoping there might be a better freebie than the small candle the brand itself is offering.

I'd wager not this close to Christmas, maybr more likely in the new year when sales are down?

This was my £50 BBC mystery box. Pretty happy with the contents! Don't need another mascara or elasticiser, and the Trinny London lip&cheek duo is too diddy to be of much use however thanks to the facial oil and repair serum in particular I am definitely encouraged to try a bigger box in future.

Hi I was wondering what people thought of the Flannels Beauty Cracker - do you think its good value/good mix of products? Is it worth waiting to next week see if there are any BF deals? Or should I get it now? Thanks

LunaDeBallona · 14/11/2024 14:44

Does anyone remember a fabulous box boots did last year - I think it was their bestsellers box. I must have spent hours trying to get one but it was my daughter’s favourite present so worth the effort. Does anyone know if they are going to do one this year?

SmashingGemini · 14/11/2024 14:59

TokyoSushi · 14/11/2024 12:51

If anybody has a young teen looking for a calendar, Boots 17 is now down to £20.10, DD(12) has it, the box is very pretty and big, so gas a wow factor for a bargain price!

Thanks, just bought this for my niece. I’ve bought six beauty advent calendars now!! Not all for me!

I think it looks good but I don't want to pay full price. I think it's worth waiting to see if it gets discounted.

@ChildrenOfTheQuorn My mystery box arrived today and looks exactly the same. I'm quite pleased with it but some things will go straight on eBay or Vinted - yet more of the hair capsules and the lip duo. The perfume is lovely and I really like murad products.

LunaDeBallona · 14/11/2024 15:15

Just wanted to say I’m sorry if I should have posted about the Boots favourite box on the @restie Christmas thread. I know I followed both this and those threads avidly last year and with my menopausal brain I can’t remember which one it was on..

IDontHateRainbows · 14/11/2024 15:21

Unboxed Sephora. Quite decent for 200 quid. Top pics for me : commodity perfume, byoma milky serum, dermalogica daily microfoliant. They have padded it a little with some random stuff but there's so much in there easily more than 24 items that they neednt have. Eg the sephora collection makeup .. will make stocking fillers for DD or she can give to her friends. There's also a massive random shower gel for hard water, not sure what they are thinking there as it seems more utilitarian than glam or special but I suppose it may come in handy!

MrsBnow12 · 14/11/2024 15:23

My BBC also arrived today, looks like my contents are slightly different but also have the mascara, hair gummies, elasticiser and Trinny.

I'm reminded that I always think Charlotte Tilbury's mascara packaging looks like something you'd buy on a market stall. No idea why they have it - the rest of their stuff looks a lot better!

They released it last week, it's changed its name this year according to the write up but just as good value. It went oos really fast though

@LunaDeBallona it's literally just come back in stock if you are after it... go, go, go!

IDontHateRainbows · 14/11/2024 15:54

I got the Boots Best of Beauty Box - i'm a bit meh about it maybe I've been spoiled by better boxes. Quite a few tiny size fillers in there. There is at least a decent size Elemis cleansing balm and the medium size bum bum cream. Also the huda beauty eye palette and a byoma serum. Overall it's not one of the best though

psuedocream3 · 14/11/2024 16:05

Was that the £88 one @IDontHateRainbows? I was put off by the minis but I think for trying out lots of brands if you haven't tried them it may be a good offer. I prefered the £55 box, and still have my eye on the 12 days advent on harrods.

Just seen that the M&S beauty calendar has sold out online. I’m quite surprised actually - it is in a nice bag, but the contents - for me - were quite disappointing.

Of course, now it’s gone, I sort of want it 🙈

The contents are 'useable' for most, though, including me. So at £2 per day for a treat, roughly, it's great!

LivinInYourBigGlassHouseWithAView · 14/11/2024 16:44

It's clear everyone is different. TBH, I would have been quite disappointed if I'd paid £50 for the BBC mystery boxes looking at the contents people have posted. Felt I got a lot more for the LIB £20 mystery box a couple of weeks ago.

TreesinthePark · 14/11/2024 16:48

I'm rushing and haven't read all the new posts but I saw the BB mystery photo and thought I'd quickly share mine which looks different...

I’ve also ordered this. I used the Rakuten £25 cashback deal plus a couple of offers on my Boots account, so felt that made it worth it. That said, I can’t see it’s tracked on Rakuten so it could end up being a costly mistake 😅

Yes, I will probably just about recoup my outlay as the Huda palette is going for a fair price on Ebay - and there are a couple of eye creams in there that i will try as I'm in the market for a new one. I honestly think I have got a bit spoiled by space nk/selfridges/liberty etc and also the Sephora AC was a hit. So it would be difficult now for anything to come along and impress me - not for under £100 anyway!n The other one I got from Boots - the limited edition AC - was much better and cheaper too.

virgocatlover · 14/11/2024 17:49

What do we think of the latest CB edit?

www.cultbeauty.co.uk/p/the-buyers-edit/15732818/

Apparently the Elemis oil is worth £54 alone.

@IDontHateRainbows Oh you did do very well this year! Are you going to use them all throughout December like an advent or are you just adding to your stash as you go?

@virgocatlover It looks good if you are after the oil or the SDJ and the rest was is worth £20 to you. I probably would be tempted, it's not a bad price, but I seem to be drowning in SDJ from GWPs/boxes/calendar and I wouldn't use the oil.

I've managed to build up a decent stash for personal use, plus sell a lot. I have a big stash of 'to be sold' items which I will probably release into my ebay store over time to give myself a bit of cash when it's needed. Its like rather than store my money in savings, I've stored it in beauty products! Anything that doesn't sell or I'd have to reduce the price to pennies to sell, I'll either give to friends/family, use myself or give to charity.

I'm not going to be using one per day in December - I think as I've done this as a hobby-business since September it would be a bit of a 'busman's holiday' doing that - I have a winevent calendar from Laithwaites for advent .

@IDontHateRainbows What was the Fenty voucher mentioned in the contents of the Boots Box? Thanks
