@ITookYourJoob the Bioma face mist I used was really pretty rubbish, mainly because the smell was very plasticky and unpleasant - I did use it up but it wasn’t very enjoyable. The Tatcha face mist though, way more expensive but I didn’t like the fragrance of that at all either!

@Fraaahnces it’s lime basil and mandarin for me every time, really fresh, light and zesty, absolutely love it and never found a JM one I like anywhere near as much.

@wheresmyshoe yes very moisturising, actually super lovely and when the tint wore away the balm effect lasted a long time. It’s VERY sheer though and I got what I thought was the darkest colour. I loved using it but honestly I question whether or not it was worth it for the amount of product in there.

Fraaahnces · 21/11/2024 01:26

@TheChosenTwo -my favourite Guerlain frag is Aqua Allegoria Mandarine Basilicum. Omg…. To die for.

That sounds right up my street!

96/100

Kayla vanilla perfume - this grew on me, I liked its warmth and softness for cold blustery days.

Diptyque feu de bois and rose candles. We have a new favourite in the house! Feu de bois is the most gorgeous smoke scent.

Sisley cream - brutally expensive but beautiful on my skin. Plumping, moisturising velvety.

Not pictured - Granado soap, love this, not drying and beautiful scent.

Fino Hair Mask (Shiseido). Best one I have ever used. It’s a gel-creme texture so it’s weighty enough without being remotely heavy or greasy. I shampoo, blot my hair dry, massage this in and leave on for as long as I want… (can be 2 mins or an hour depending…) Rinse out, follow with conditioner and my hair is silky and feels stronger. I’m even seeing growth!!! (I always use a leave-in conditioner and a heat protectant these days… pretty sure that this helps too).

I have an empty to report:

  • CeraVe hydrating cream to foam cleanser: I am not a big fan of Cervave but think this is the cleanser I have liked the most of all the ones I have tried - not at all drying on the skin. That said the L'Oreal Age Perfect cleansing milk is just as nice, if not more so, and way cheaper...

Bath and Body works cherry blossom shower gel. Lovely.
Sephora cotton flower show gel. It was very drying.
Kat Burki vitamin c face cream - I liked it but wasn’t wowed.

87/80.

Empties:

Murad Oat & Peptide cleanser - 200ml. All round good quality product, no complaints about this at all (other than the price).

Kate Somerville Exfolikate - 7.5ml. I was a bit scared of this because it says it is intensive, but it didn’t cause any problems and seemed to do a pretty good job.

Beauty of Joseon ginseng essence water - 40ml. Often seem to get this as a freebie. It’s fine, but don’t think it does very much.

Jorjobe peptide serum - 30ml. Loved this, felt lovely to use and left my skin feeling really nice.

Lush Lip Service - a nice lip balm but it went a bit grainy in the pot towards the end (probably because it’s now really cold in my bathroom).

Burts Bees honey lip balm - favourite stick lip balm.

Lush Sticky Dates shower gel - 125g. Smelled amazing.

LushSnow Fairy shower gel - 100g. Wasn’t so keen on this one, smelled of bubblegum. Not my thing.

Mon Guerlain body lotion - 75ml. One of my favourite perfumes. The lotion itself was the normal crappy stuff you get in perfume gifts sets.

Shay & Blue Atropa Belladonna perfume - 10ml. Too powdery.

I have two empties to report (plus a Space NK haul 🙈):

  • B By Superdrug GLOW enzyme facial scrub: this is mixture of a "physical" scrub plus some pumpkin enzymes. I do actually like this - not too rough.
  • L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss medium brown: not sure if my bad cos I had root spray on when I applied or I got the colour wrong or this is just pants but my roots are still visible!

Empties:
Biossance hyalauronic mist 30ml - love this and have repurchased many times. Use it like a first step toner. Feels lovely and hydrating and mists nicely. I like this brand
Molton brown bath/shower gel in gingerlilly 10ml - nice enough but won't be purchasing the full size. I bought a massively discounted sample set and none of them have been anything special. I love the sea fennel one and would only repurchase that one

I went a bit mad with the BF deals so have bought quite a few new things. But justifying it as I didn't get an advent calendar even though I have fomo now watching all those advent threads!

paristotokyo · 01/12/2024 16:33

@Fraaahnces interesting to read your review on that hair mask as I was going to purchase that but got the Shiseido Tsubaki premium one (gold tub) instead. It's lovely on my fine dry hair and smells wonderful. Might get the fino to try next.

Fraaahnces · 01/12/2024 18:39

I’ve wondered about the Tsubaki one! Does it smell nice? The Fino is rather strongly fragranced, but the scent doesn’t linger or irritate.

paristotokyo · 01/12/2024 18:48

@Fraaahnces yes I like it. It's a really sweet fruity scent which is also quite strong but doesn't last long. I don't even keep it on that long, use it like a conditioner really, but feels nourishing

Fraaahnces · 02/12/2024 01:37

The Fino is definitely Floral with a capital F.

MotherWol · 03/12/2024 11:20

November empties report!

Geek & Gorgeous C Glow: mixed feelings about this, it's a decent effective vitamin c, but the texture is so watery, it's more like a toner than a serum, which makes application a bit tricky. Don't know if I'd repurchase, my skin seems to like it but I think I prefer a different texture.

Geek & Gorgeous Happier Barrier: love this moisturiser, I think this is my third tube? Only wish I didn't get through it so quickly (50ml lasts about 2-3 months)

Elvive extraordinary oils mask: lovely smell, a lot like Lush Honey I Washed the Kids, this tub lasted for ages. Nice enough, decent value.

Anyah body wash: I think these were hotel freebies, annoying non-resealable packaging so decanted into a handwash bottle.

Nivea pearl beauty roll-on: really handy travel size, wish it was refillable.

Norfolk alchemist bar soap: gorgeous spicy scent, love a good bar soap. Have repurchased.

M&S Apothecary fragrance trial set: Loved having tiny samples of each of the fragrances, really handy for travel. Warmth is the nicest, the one I'd repurchase, reminiscent of Aesop, but most of them don't have much staying power.

Johnson's baby powder: absolute staple, repurchased.

I've been fairly restrained in black friday, stocked up on a few of the products I use regularly but the stash is diminishing a fair bit so unless I get beauty stuff for Christmas there are very few products in the drawer that aren't tried & tested favourites.

More empties:

180) Ultra Violette SPF - Good sunscreen. Lasted a while even in small size.

181) Medik8 Eye Serum - nice enough but nothing special. Wouldn't pay the ridiculous retail price. It also annoys me that they put 15ml cream in such large packaging. Note that it's almost as big as the 100ml body moisturiser! Makes me feel like they are trying to cheat people.

182) Deep Sleep Body Cocoon - I really like this. I often shower before bed and this is nice and relaxing.

183) Bubble T hand cream - ok, not the most moisturising hand cream that I've ever tried. It smells like My Little Ponies.

184) Benefit Dallas - this is ancient. It used to be my 'go to' years ago. Not even sure whether or not they still make it!

185) Vitaskin Cleansing Balm - this was actually surprising good. It lasted ages, was effective, and is budget friendly. Would definitely RP.

Total 185/200

Great progress here! Not so much on my front. Some empties though:

Ted Baker violet and bergamot body wash. Smells like Parma violets. I like it. The gel is not great though, too runny and very little bubbles.

Garnier ultimate blends coconut oil. Lasted a lifetime. 8 years. I liked it but have plenty others to use up, and no, in case you are wondering my hair hasn’t fallen off.

Herbal essences coconut milk shampoo. It’s ok. Too greasy for my roots but my DD loves it.

Aveeno cream. Staple, we like it.

Planet spa Dead Sea minerals face mist from Avon. An oldie but a goldie. I liked it, a God send in hot days. Plenty others to use up before I rebuy.

Colgate total toothpaste. Okeish. Not too minty. I prefer kingfisher.

My photo looks like a bit like a Beauty Pie ad, but I've actually recently cancelled/not renewed my membership so it's not 😅 I really like some products, but not finding it good value anymore and haven't ordered anything for months (in fact, my renewal date was 3 months ago but they gave me a free 3 month extension, and I still didn't buy anything so decided to pull the plug). Looking forward to trying some newness once I use up my stash.

Era shampoo - think this was possibly from a hotel? I think it's my last hotel shampoo, thankfully, as it was possibly the worst shampoo I've ever used. Why I can't just chuck things I don't know.

Beauty Pie Flash Face Lift serum - my frown lines improved in the time I was using this, but I feel like it was probably really the tret which I started a few months ago. Hopefully the tret as I've obviously cancelled my BP membership and it's either OOS or discontinued anyway (another reason for cancelling, things are often OOS or discontinued!).

Beauty Pie plantastic apricot butter cleansing balm - this was a GWP and turned out to be my favourite cleanser. I debated stocking up before cancelling as I love this, but have decided to just find another I like as much. Bonus if cheaper!

Beauty Pie featherlight spf 50 - really liked this and found it effective even when on holiday in sunnier climes. Would be happy to use again.

Now off to peruse other brands! 👀

I have an empty to report:

  • Boots Everyday moisturising cleansing wipes: I am not a massive fan of face wipes but I LOVED these - smell divine and work well. They are biodegradable

MotherWol · 05/12/2024 14:42

@Buster27 I felt similarly about Beauty Pie, I really liked a couple of the fragrances but didn't buy regularly enough to make having a membership worthwhile so even when they extended my free trial I wasn't bothered about keeping it. I'm tempted by the new tinted/sheer lip balm/lipsticks, which are my particular kryptonite, but there are lots of K-beauty ranges doing those now so lots of alternative options.

Tarragon123 · 05/12/2024 22:28

Hello, I have loads of empties to report, but I need to take a photo.

In the meantime, I have had a really good clear out as I'm going to a Womens Aid event tomorrow and taking stuff that I'll never use with me. At the moment, I've got 47 items, looking to round up to 50, so I'm going to check my make up and another cupboard 🙀

wheresmyshoe · 06/12/2024 19:44

100/100 hooray!

Mercier caviar eyeshadow sample set - I'm amazed at how bad these looked on me, wrong colour/tone I guess, aged me by 10 years.

Single moisturiser sachet - the absolute- fine, effective and non greasy

Kew hand cream - it turns out that I hate peach/apricot creams, this was repurposed for my feet and was effective.

Seated Queen - I have one more of these and will be sorry when it runs out. Great product.

I’ve used up a lip balm, possibly for the first time ever. The brand is Aloe Lanzarote and I buy quite a few things from them when I am over there. I’d happily repurchase this.

Freezeframe Wrinkle Block. I’ve been using this for about a year but not really seen much improvement. Its not finished, but I’m finished with it.

thisworks Deep Sleep Body Cocoon. Not a fan. Liked a smell, but it was very thin.

Ageless Overnight Retinol Powerbalm. I have another 2 in my stash. I like this and it feels good on my skin.

Gatineau Defi-Lift Firming Neck & Decollete Gel. I do love Gatineau. Again, I have another one in the stash, but moving on first to Age Benefit Intensive Neck and Decollete.

Ferne Cotton Happy Place Sleep Relaxing Pillow Mist – this was fine, nothing special. I have other brands, Temple Spa and Feather and Down that I prefer.

thisworks perfect cleavage and neck serum – I liked this, but I I do prefer other brands eg Gatineau

Alpha-H Liquid Gold with Glycolic Acid – too nippy for my skin.

Aurelia the Probiotic Concentrate – like this and have two other bottles in the stash
