I can get through hand cream pretty fast as I have stupidly dry hands. Also get through lip balm as I’m an addict. After that, the easiest things are probably body lotion, shampoo & conditioner and face moisturiser as I use that on my neck and upper chest too.

Shower gel takes longer than I think and it’s my favourite thing to buy so I end up with loads. Ditto face cleansers.

The things that seem to take forever are serums. Also random face stuff like masks and exfoliating toners etc, mainly because I hardly ever actually bother to use them.

Worst of all is make up. I bought a replacement for my favourite concealer literally months ago but decided to finish the old one properly and dig the remaining product out of the component with a brush. It’s still going strong, probably got at least two or three months worth left, so will be a total of about a year since I bought the replacement!

Yes! I have 3 unopened full size face masks, 5 minis and 6 single use ones. I also have 12 eye masks. I need to get into a routine where I am using a face mask at least one a week. I'm very bad at remembering to put on hand cream, even though I am old and my hands look 20 years older than my face! I'm quite good at putting on lip balm. Trying to put on hand cream every time I put on lip balm :)

Yayyyy!!
I have lots to add! Just wanted to make sure I marked myself here! ☺️☺️

I think I joined this thread about 4 years ago- i had almost 200 unopened products. I find a spreadsheet really helps, use up your minis, gift whatever you don’t like.

i try to use things up so I can get the Christmas offers and sets.
At the moment I’ve 30 unopened products- huge improvement for me. I also find the thread encourages me to use thing up.

@Tarragon123 you are extremely diligent! Well done!

I saw a billboard for Loreal Professional Absolut Repair claiming to repair damaged hair with ONE use! Anyone tried this?

I started a spreadsheet for the calendars I bought but I've repurposed a lot to make DIY calendars for DD, DS and DSis so I've lost track of what I've got to use up.

I might do a stock take in January. I need to be more mindful next year as DS is off to Uni and that will be bye bye to a lot of my fun stuff budget.

It’s really useful to have an idea of stock. O had loads of face oils, down to 2 now.
Children are so expensive, hope you manage some fun stuff 😊

I have been slacking on the posting!
I love reading all the empties.
It's so hard not to try all the ones you rave about!!

Soooo..
Dove - Body Wash - My all time favourite clean smell and moisturising. Cheap(ish) and cheerful.

Champneys - Calm Body Butter - Smells delightful and makes me feel like I have been to a spa (if I shut my eyes!)

Body Shop - CBD Cleanser - I actually really liked this. You have to spend time warming it up. But once it's warmed up it works wonders and feels nice on the skin.

Soap & Glory - Original Pink Body Mist - whenever I wear this I get a comment to say how nice it smells. I wear this to work/ spritz throughout the day for a freshen up. I like the smell!

Garnier - Fresh Eye Make Up Remover - I will never understand how this/ micellar water works. But this definitely gets the majority of your mascara off.

This Works - Stress Check Gentle Wash - I like this stuff because it's more like an oil that foams up. Smells nice too.

OGX - Argon Oil Shampoo - This doesn't later as much as I would like, but it makes my hair smell lovely, shiny and doesn't dry it out.

OGX - Coconut Milk Conditioner - I really like this. Smells lovely and makes my hair feel soft.

Colgate - Bog standard. But I'm realising, I might be a boring toothpaste buyer after this thread!!

Scentsy - Luna Body Lotion - Didn't like this. Smelt off and didn't moisturise.

Lush - Rub rub rub - Brilliant and nice smelling exfoliator. I'm a sucker for lush products!

Bio Oil - Being 7.5 months pregnant, I try to use this. I like it, but obviously, oily skin transfers to clothes/ bedding easily which can be a pain!

Leende - Lavender Bath Salts - This smelt nice, but I wouldn't go out my way to get this again. Cute packaging though!!

I feel so purged I have finally done this!

I noticed @Experiment627 that people reference your videos, do you have a link?

X

@LilyJessie I really like that Body Shop CBD cleanser too but I am not so keen on using BS stuff after learning more about their business practices 😬

I will DM you - I try not to use this thread as an ad cos I want it ain't all about me 🤣

@Tarragon123 my low-tech solution for working out how long stuff takes to use up is I write the date I opened it on a bit of washi tape/masking tape and stick it to the product. That way I've worked out roughly how fast I go through different types of things, and I can avoid building up too much of a stash of things I use slowly!

Fraaahnces · 25/10/2024 11:35

I finished the TirTir Ceramic Skin Ampoule. Bloody Marvellous. I think I have waxed lyrical about this before, but this is what I wanted from Glossier Futuredew. It’s beautifully hydrating/ moisturising and makeup sits perfectly on top. It is smoothing and provides the most beautiful glow. In the wintertime my skin becomes very sensitive and peely. This put the end to that entirely. It seems very healing. I have a Futuredew to use up but I find it sticky in comparison, and the glow comes from mica, not from the skin. It’s still nice, but I will try and go through it pretty quickly. I have one in my stash but it will remain unopened until Futuredew is done.
Btw, I received the TirTir setting spray as a GWP. I have never used one before. Wow! Talk about making sure you have zero texture! I thought it lasted for ages already. It was perfect when I returned from work! I’m going to keep it for special events.
The Natasha Denona I need a Nude Palette that I ordered on the 16th still hasn’t arrived. Bloody Australia Post. They are getting worse and worse. Minimum two week turn around now. Absolutely bonkers.

OvaHere · 25/10/2024 12:37

@Fraaahnces that's good to know about the TirTir Ampoule. I ordered some in the YesStyle sale and I have the same issue with winter skin. It won't arrive for a couple of weeks yet but nice to know it probably wasn't a dud purchase.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/10/2024 14:32

I cannot find that online and I see the Camomile Balm is tagged catch me while you can so is that being discontinued ? Surely not !

What's the business practice that's concerning @Experiment627 .

Experiment627 · 25/10/2024 18:38

@70isaLimitNotaTarget James Welsh did a great in depth video into their history- basically never really the top ethical brand I thought they were! BUT more recently it is them being a MLM - a typr of pyramid scheme. It is a shame as I have a few HGs from them.

They went into administration earlier this year. I would not be surprised if shops started to close. Some of their stuff is available on Amazon.

OP posts:
Fraaahnces · 26/10/2024 02:10

@OvaHere - I really rate it. I found that I didn’t always need a layer of moisturiser over it in winter. Patted over a good hydrating serum in the morning, it was lovely. It’s sort of a hybrid serum/moisturiser I guess, but leaning towards the moisturiser side.

Fraaahnces · 26/10/2024 02:14

@Experiment627 I stopped buying TBS products when I spoke to a couple of people who were trying to escape their jobs there. They were being constantly monitored by camera, their bosses didn’t accept that they were better able to “read the room” and Aussies don’t respond well at all to pushy sales tactics. (They were frequently being told to “F-Off” when doing as required by management and bouncing into a shopper’s personal space, grabbing their hand/wrist and attempting to lead them away from what they were looking at towards the flavour of the month product and felt like they were constantly under attack, frequently going out back to cry.)

Experiment627 · 26/10/2024 07:35

@Fraaahnces well that does not sound good! Actually sounds a lot like James Welsh's experience with Lush!

Thank you @Experiment627 😊 and please DM me a link too

@BlueLimeRun – you made me check my unopeneds. Oh dear. Not including the things that I have set to one side for gifting. I have 156, which doesn’t include all my travel sizes. I need to play around a bit with my spreadsheet and pop all my travel sizes together. I have an overnight with work at the end of November and a few nights away in December. I want to be super organised.

@LilyJessie – I think your Scentsy body lotion must have been off. And you’ve just reminded me that I’ve ordered an AC that my rep makes up herself. Its mostly melts and cleaning products, but hopefully there will be some hand wash as I love the smells. I got a luna body scrub once and it was gorgeous.

@MotherWol – yes! I have used a black pen to mark on stuff in the bathroom, so I do have a double check, however, it rubbed off the oil base products as I am very messy lol.

I’ve also managed to discover that I am missing two vital travel products, so I need to have a good search. @OvaHere a stocktake sounds good. I always get stuff for Christmas that I don’t need/want/use and that gets used for tombolas etc throughout the year. Does that sound really ungrateful? I don’t mean it to be, but I like what I like and I can hardly ask folk to fork out on Temple Spa, Aurelia etc for me. Plus, given my confession of 156 unopened products, I don’t need anything. Any thoughts on how to tackle?

One more finished, Temple Spa Lets Concentrate Skin Glowing Serum, 30ml. I haven’t come across a Temple Spa product that I don’t like. Definitely one of my favourite brands. This particular serum is lovely on my skin, it really drinks it up. I’ve also had to bin Lacura La Soie Facial Moisturiser. I think I opened it for a snift and a test when I bought it around a year ago. It now smells bad and doesn’t absorb well. I tried it on my legs, but no good.

Experiment627 · 28/10/2024 06:51

@Tarragon123 where do you get Temple Spa stuff from? I believe they have a hand wash that I loved the smell of when used at the RAF Club (of all places!) about 10 years ago!

I treated my nephew to a spa visit yesterday- the whole place smelled DIVINE. I asked if they sold products but alas they do not 😭😭😭 anyhoo their website said it was neroli and that neroli is orange blossom - who knew?!

OP posts:
BlueLimeRun · 29/10/2024 10:12

@Tarragon123 im sure you can work through 😊

Few more from me:

Body shop cleansing butter, was good, quite greasy though.
Fresh overnight cream. Was ok, didn’t sink in that well.
Tatcha Dewy cream. I love this. Great for my dry skin, I’ve had a larger pot before, definite repurchase.
Clarins rose radiance cream. Left a weird residue, didn’t feel moisturising.
Biossance vit c rose oil. Liked a lot but have other oils to try.
m&s hand balm- just ok.
Makin+Goetz grapefruit cleanser. Was nice for a morning cleanse.
Votary serum. It’s good, not sure if better than Clarins.

82/80 - made my target !

and 2 mini showers gets.
Bamford and ouai liked both a lot and will purchase when I’ve used up my others.

AguaLavanda · 29/10/2024 19:28

@Tarragon123 I had a similar experience with the Lacura La soie cream. It just seemed to pill on my skin. Didn't like it at all.

I've started my spreadsheet. So far, (and bear in mind that I've just started), I've counted 126 items. I'm absolutely horrified - I haven't even gone near my 'product shelf'. That's just what I had in my desk drawer. God knows what the final number will be...

Oh noooooo! I didn't even know this about TBS!! I have been loyal to them for years!!

@Tarragon123 -
That's really handy to know as I am a big Scentsy lover. I'll have a chat with my rep and give it another go!!

82/100

Ouai leave in conditioner - effective but not stand out, I have another to use up. Not a buy but didn't weigh my fine hair down.

Living proof conditioner - I couldn't pick this out of a line up. It's a reasonable conditioner, not a buy.

Ouai Melrose place body cleanser - I like this, it has that classic clean soapy fresh scent that lasts. Non drying and gentle, good product.
