I've used up a few things that have been hanging about half used in my travel bag for I don't know how long

170) Polaar Ice Pure Micellar Water - don't know where this came from but it worked well enough

171-172) Penhaligons Halfeti shower gel and body lotion - nice scent, lasted well. DP loved.

173-174) Noble Isle shower gel and body lotion - nice enough but wouldn't go out of my way to RP

175) Kora Active Algae Moisturiser - like this. Nice and light and non greasy for the warmer months

176) Sol de Janeiro Hair Treatment - this was good, but not particularly better than any other hair mask in this price range. Smelt like the cream if you like the scent.

177) Elizabeth Arden tinted lip protectant - have bought this for years

178) Hourglass Mascara - good, but not a favourite.

179) Caudalie Serum - ok, nothing special

Total 179/200

@paristotokyo Black Honey is the best, I find so many lip products have a texture I can’t tolerate, but BH goes on just like a balm and I love it. Have you tried the Pink Honey one? I got the Ilia balmy tint last week and liking it so far, heartbeats is a sheer red, very wearable.

paristotokyo · 14/11/2024 19:56

@MotherWol yep I love it 😍 I just wish they'd make a longer lasting lip tint version of it. I do have the pink honey but I think it's too cool toned or light for me, I find I don't teach for it often unless I wear it with a lip pencil underneath. I love ilia as a brand and have a few bits from them but not that! I'll put it on the list. I'm easily influenced 😂

Experiment627 · 15/11/2024 16:46

How is it possible to fall off a thread you start?????

I have one empty to report:

  • Colgate Max White Ultimate toothpaste: nah. Give me Kingfisher any day.

I have fallen off wagon completely but in the process found a deluge of hamazing hair care products - still giving them a good go but HALLELUJAH!

91/100

Elnett hairspray - this one left my hair dry and crunchy, I think in need to explore another brand.

Rodial vit c cleanser - effective but nothing to distinguish it. Lasted months and months.

Sleep spray - I like these but love Neom right now

Zelens D mask- leaves skin looking good, gentle and plumping

Korres body wash - scent of fresh Muscat grapes, lovely, gentle.

Glad you're back @Experiment627 this thread has been my motivation!

BeFluentNavyBee · 16/11/2024 09:12

@Experiment627 Please tell us more about these hair products!

CorneliaStreet · 16/11/2024 09:54

I’m also interested to hear about the hair products @Experiment627! I’m still searching for the perfect shampoo that actually gets my roots clean but doesn’t dry out the ends.

Some more empties:

Lush Angels on Bare skin cleanser - 50g. This has ground almonds in so it’s a physical exfoliator. It did leave my skin feeling soft, but I much prefer the Murad exfoliating cleanser.

Thank You Farmer rice toner - 30ml. This was really thick for a toner, more like a runnny serum consistency. Really moisturising and soothing, liked it.

Lush Celestial moisturiser - 10ml. A bit too heavy for my skin type but it felt incredibly soothing when applied, so I think it would be great for anyone with dry, irritated skin.

Beauty of Joseon Refief Sun sunscreen - 10ml. Love this, great product.

Lush Squeak shampoo - 125g. Part shampoo, part scalp scrub. Did get my hair nice and clean but I think it would irritate my scalp if I used it more than once a week. I think it must have a load of SLS in it as you only need to use a tiny amount for it to foam up like crazy.

Tree Hut body scrub in Cotton Candy - 510g. Not my favourite scent but I really like the formula of the Tree Hut scrubs.

Organic Shop body soufflé in Lemon Macaron - 250ml. Good lotion formula and smelled amazing.

More!
E45 body lotion- love E45
Benefit primer - I don't really use primer and this hasn't converted me
Garnier micellar water - fine
LRP sunscreen - this actually went off before it used it so can't comment
Simple moisturiser - basic and good.

I've also received my £5 Cult Beauty reward for recycling five products via the app I mentioned unthread so can recommend that

Ok here goes on the haircare:
Oaui detox shampoo: did not want to love it but what can I say? Definitely great for my oily roots.
Tresemme Lamellar Shine leave in cream serum: O M G - applied to wet hair it tames the frizz and leaves my hair CURLY!!!!
And then yesterday I tried the L'Oreal Elvive Glycolic Gloss range for the first time, all four products, and just WOW! I am not keen on smell or how my eyes watered but my hair is sleek and smooth and just hamazing!

I need to use all of these some more to really form an opinion but for now I am so so so happy with my finds!

I've been good this year and not bought a Christmas beauty advent...still have stuff from last year

I've just finished a cerave spf 50 daily moisturiser, and later on, I'll finish a whipped soap in the shower

I've got a murad vit c moisturiser to use up now, but I think I'll get the cerave one again once it's finished as the murad is ££££

I've just had to get some inkey list scalp treatments as my peri menopausal scalp seems to have developed acne 😡

I have asked for perfume for Christmas, but I wear it every day, usually daytime and nighttime 😃

I have some this works stuff that I'm not super keen on, but I am plugging away

I have 3 x cleansers on the go 😬 - a murad exfoliating one, lacura, and m&s rose balms (dupe of elemis, I think?)

I quite like all of them but will get a cerave one once they are done

I'm determined to streamline my face products

BeFluentNavyBee · 16/11/2024 18:23

@Experiment627 Thank you! I've got some of the detox shampoo in my stash which I've not tried yet and the gloss products were already on my wish list, but trying not to buy more hair products! 😂

Experiment627 · 16/11/2024 18:26

@destiel00 that sounds painful. Hope you can sort the acne out xxx

@BeFluentNavyBee sorry if I have given you reason to splurge. I did find the Gloss range half price - hence why I went full throttle.

Thank you
It's very irritating, and the inkey treatments are £££ :(

BeFluentNavyBee · 16/11/2024 20:09

@Experiment627 It doesn't take much to tempt me to splurge on hair products! 😂 Just need to use up some of the many hair products I have only used once 😳

Experiment627 · 18/11/2024 09:07

I have some empties to report:

  • Le petit Marseillais organic sweet almond shower gel: bought this in France - whilst there on holiday in August. Was very inexpensive and smells divine. Lovely and soft on the skin. You can actually buy this one on Amazon so at least I can RP.
  • Kingfisher fennel fluoride toothpaste: HG for me (and my son!)
  • Dove body lotion essential care (glycerin one): this is very rich and also very fragranced. Not actually an empty but I will be paying forward as I have moved on to another body lotion.
  • Nomad blemish patches "feeling lucky": these were great (smiley faces this time). I wish Nomad existed in the UK - a but like Flying Tiger but with may more beauty and household cleaning products: HEAVEN.

Empties here too:

Dove bath salts peony and rose. They smell like a classic old fashioned rose. I liked it but was expecting something different with the addition of peony. I didn’t feel it made a difference regarding my aching muscles but it felt luxurious to add to the bath.

Funk double fx leave in hair treatment. I used it to detangle my dds hair. It didn’t work very well. The smell was okeish nothing marvellous.

Sanex advanced body lotion. I thank the stars I finished this. Horrible smell, liquid texture, not moisturising at all. Even though I couldn’t put it in the bin.

Herbal essences rose scent conditioner. This is a superb jammy rose scent. I loved it. Leaves hair silky smooth and a little goes a long way.

Dove hydrate body wash. I really like this. Feels nice on skin and the scent is fantastic. I prefer this over the one with a quarter of cream.

YR infusion d epices hand cream. Really lovely wintery scent. Absorbs well even though is a bit thin. Was a limited edition.

TheChosenTwo · 18/11/2024 15:15

Empties to share.
notable mentions are the honey farmacy moisturiser, really lovely and light (but do smell strongly of honey so avoid if you hate it!), hourglass lip phantom glossy balm -
very nice but so sheer and too expensive considering I went though it in a month. Similar with the rare beauty lip tint but more affordable so will maybe repurchase in future when I’m running low in that category.
Love the JM perfume, it’s one of my 2 staples so always have one on backup.
Davines hair milk thing was fantastic when I’d gone too long between hair cuts, felt like it had really (temporarily) restored some good condition back to my hair.

ITookYourJoob · 19/11/2024 07:18

@TheChosenTwo I really like the Honey moisturiser too. My nostrils must be burnt from all the products I use, because I can barely smell it on my face 😁 How is the Byoma range? I’m always curious, but have not bought any yet. Some compare it to Drunk Elephant🤔

Fraaahnces · 19/11/2024 07:31

@TheChosenTwo Which JM perfume was it? I seem to get overwhelmed every time I go to the counter now. Too many choices I think.

ChaosCoordinator3 · 19/11/2024 09:15

This is both inspiring and dangerous—I came here for 'support,' but now I just want to shop smarter, not less. Can we just agree skincare minis are the gateway drug?

wheresmyshoe · 19/11/2024 10:43

I'm so tempted by the hourglass phantom @TheChosenTwo does it have a moisturising effect?

Buster27 · 19/11/2024 16:22

Recent empties:

The Body Shop camomile eye make up remover - I really like this but prefer the cleansing butter version (which I do have in my stash somewhere!).

Mitchum deodorant - liked this and would RP

Cien instant moisture conditioner - not great, won't rebuy.

Hotel mini shampoo - terrible as always, God knows why I used to take these home!

Sisley black rose skin cream - fine but not wow (thankfully as above my budget!). I have another as I got 2 of the Libery boxes this came in as my first was missing a couple of items.

Ouai Body cleanser - also fine but nothing special. This was actually one of the items missing from my first box!
