@OchonAgusOchonOh Do you have products grouped into type in the bathroom/wherever your products are? I only keep cleansers in the bathroom and the rest is on my dressing table. I think I could do with little pots or trays to separate things out but I'm not sure how to sort it.

There could well be a spreadsheet in my future...

Absolutely not as then my dh would know the extent of my problem😀

I have them grouped in boxes in my wardrobe but the boxes hold multiple types. So moisturiser, serum and masks in one, etc. There's no logic to the groupings. It was just what would fit in each box. I include the box detail in the spreadsheet.

Couple of empties:

ByTerry hyaluronic pressed powder - this smashed whilst in my bag and wasn’t salvageable :( I really loved this but already have another powder (cheapie) on the go so won’t be rp. I have the loose powder by ByTerry also which I really rate but prefer the application of compacts so rarely reach for it unfortunately
Tatcha luminous dewy skin mist - I used this whenever I needed to redo my makeup during the day but felt dry so would mist this over the top. It’s too fragranced for my liking and overpriced. Lots of better mists out there. Will keep the bottle to reuse though as the packaging is so nice
Liberty liquid eye patch - this was popular over on the Liberty thread when it was given to us part of the beauty drop (which they then never released in general sale) but in all honestly I never reached for it much and I just realised it’s gone bad so am chucking
Byredo gypsy water sample 2ml - I’m on a mission to use up some frag samples as I’ve just ordered the liberty scent kit which comes with a gwp which has some samples in there too. I didn’t like this at first but trying it again it is absolutely lovely. The longevity isn’t great so not sure I’d rp actually but I’d happily use it if it came in an edit

Had a really good sort through my skincare bits today. I’ve put together all the items I want to use up into my daily skincare box in the bathroom. This has helped me see that I actually don’t need to buy a new serum (sadly!) or a day moisturiser as I have one or two of each to use up first. So my stylevana basket has been emptied. The only thing I’m buying in store is a second cleanser that the lovely @Fraaahncesrecommended. I also replenished my gym/travel bag with minis that I need to use up. And I’ve sorted through the things that I don’t really like or work for me and have put them aside to gift to visiting relatives. Whenever they come they go back with a bag full of goodies and never reject anything!

paristotokyo · 05/11/2025 03:50

Oh and I also finished another
Clinique black honey - a hg for me and I love it but admit it doesn’t last long. Was going to rp but I realised my Lisa Eldridge lipstick in the shade painterly gives me a very close shade match so I’m being sensible and will use this instead of rp. It’s a really nice formula and if you use only one swipe it is more of a balm

Fraaahnces · 05/11/2025 09:19

Nothing to report, but came on to say Happy Birthday to @DidILeaveTheGasOn !

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 05/11/2025 09:22

Thank you @Fraaahnces !

Cassavaflower · 06/11/2025 08:05

Thank you for the warm welcome @Experiment627
Since I joined you lot I have been diligently using my skincare and make up products every day.
I have a terrible habit of picking up dupes in Home Bargains and then putting them away and forgetting I even have them
So today I have nearly used up a Lush face wash, a Home Bargains moisturiser, a Vitamin C serum I bought off iHerb that smells revolting and a niacinamide serum from the Inkey List.
Also started using a foot balm at night.
I think I need some shelves in my bedroom so I can clearly see the products
Out of sight out of mind and all that
Also too many face masks

CorneliaStreet · 06/11/2025 10:01

Empties:

APLB Glutathione Niacinamide Cleansing Balm - 80ml. Liked this, nice smooth texture and washed off cleanly.

Manyo Bifida Biome Ampoule Toner - 30ml. This was a really lovely hydrating toner. The serum from this line is great too.

Numbuzin Super Glowing Essence Toner - 100ml. Much too fragranced and I found the texture a bit heavy.

Biossance Squalane & Lactic Acid Serum - 4ml. Not as good as Good Genes lactic acid.

Iunik Propolis Vitamin Synergy Serum - 50ml. Loved this, felt really hydrating and soothing without being at all heavy.

Rovectin Lotus Sun Cream - 50ml. Had to be very careful applying this or I got stinging, watering eyes. It’s a shame because it was a good sunscreen other than that.

7 Virtues Cherry Ambition perfume sample. Liked this one, reminded me of Angel’s Share.

Lush Chocolate Orange Shower Gel - 285g. From the Easter subscription box, so it’s taken a while to get through. Smelled exactly like Terry’s chocolate orange, which is a lovely smell but not necessarily something I want to wash myself with.

Tree Hut Passionfruit Sol Body Scrub - 510g. Love Tree Hut scrubs.

Future Primitive Campfire Marshmallow Body Cream - 50g. Smelled like a toned down version of Margiela By the Fireplace. A pretty thick cream and better for me as a hand cream than a body lotion.

I was going to start my list of 100 products to finish in 2026 but had to de-clog my sink instead. (It’s all glamour round here.) 7 products and a sample arrived today. I will load them onto the list today to be accountable. (Plus a sample, but will use that tonight.)

  1. Leave-in Hair Bonding Treatment by Kundal. (Am almost finished my first tube. Obvs I love this.)
  2. Nymph Aura Primer by Etude. Just tried it and wowed. I am very, very glossy. Not advised for ppl with oily skin.
  3. Mini BOJ eye cream. Love this. (Great for my two very long car trips in Dec.)
  4. Numbuzin No 5 NAD+ Essence. This rocks.
  5. Matching No 5 Toner. Will report, but feels lovely on my paws.
  6. Genabelle PDRN Hyper Boost Ample:- I will use this with dermastamp. I expect I will loom 12 by Christmas.
  7. Carenology Cream Mist. It’s for the car trips and it’s a very pretty baby blue. It must be good.
  • Purito Wonder Relief Centella Serum (Sample.) TBA.

@FraaahncesOoh nice! I’ve got the Numbuzin essence on my list but I need to finish another that I have first (being sensible is no fun..)

Fraaahnces · 07/11/2025 12:41

@paristotokyo I will report!

Caggie09 · 07/11/2025 15:10

Lush dream cream. Akways have in for eczema flares. Always works wonders.

Boots sheet mask. These dont seem to be sold in my store for some reason, which is annoying! For the the price i think its works well, you get that extra hydration and doesnt leave you feeling sticky like some.

Benefit mascara. It was good, but not so much to make me RP. Now using Too Faced Ribbon Lash which i much prefer.

MZ Skin Vit C serum. Smelt a little funky, thought it was off, but the colour and texture was fine. I really liked it, my skin was glowing all day and despite the smell i enjoyed using it. Until i seen the cost, £265. No vitamin c is worth that amount of money!

Sure Cotton Dry anti-perspirant - fine, wouldn happily use again (but prefer my usual mitchum)

AB The Rich Cream - I love this but think it's overpriced, so always happy to see this in an advent! Wouldn't buy.

Vita Liberata 10 minute tan - Didn't do much and smelt a bit funny, but who knows how long this has been lurking in the back of the bathroom cupboard.

Beauty Pie Mineral SPF30 - really liked this and preferred it to the other BP spf. Would have bought again but I cancelled my membership ages ago so I need to find a new spf.

Votary night star serum - Used this on my non tret nights. I enjoyed the scent and feeling, though not sure it did much. Too expensive to buy again, I need results for that price!

Few empties. Mostly samples. Apologies for the rubbish shadowy photo.

AimX Renew Me face mask - from a beauty box, was nice actually and did leave my skin feeling soft and hydrated.

Heimish Bulgarian Rose eye patches - liked these a lot. Currently using a tub of Thank You Farmer Rice eye patches but not enjoying those as much. Probably will buy some more of the Rose ones when I'm out of everything else.

Naturium cleansing balm - is fragrance free but smells a bit vinegary. I did get used to the smell and it works pretty well. It's the sort of texture I like in a balm. Not a fave though.

2 x DDG peel pads - have now bought my own box of these after a MNetter introduced them to me on the Chat thread. Plan to use them once or twice a week.

Travel size Tatcha Dewy Mist - I do like these. I think the couple I've had have been gwp so I'm not sure I would buy one as you can get other nice mists cheaper. Would be happy to get another as a gwp.

Elemis body lotion sample - their new Rose and Mimosa scent. It's nice, sweet smelling but not very strong.

Rhode glazing milk sample - I've got 2 of these samples which I was quite excited by because I like this type of product and people seem to rave about this one. Only tried the one sample so far but I do like it. Trying to decide if it's radically different enough to the Haruharu wonder black rice probiotics essence which I already have. They seem very similar. I can see me buying this at some point though as the Rhode range is arriving at Sephora UK next week.

Gisou Honey Gloss Ceramide Therapy Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner and Hair Mask samples - Used all these today and thought they were pretty good. My hair feels soft but also has some lift and bounce. One for the wish list I think. Have only previously tried a small sample of the hair oil from the range which I didn't love but these are better.

I have two empties to report:
-Amazon own brand denture cleaning tablets which I use on my night guard and one tooth denture - ok but no stain removal happening on night guard
-Sanex pro hydrate shower cream: fine - did not seem to make skin worse

I just realised that I have recently finished a shed load of products and almost wish I had started my 100 products list before new year!
I have some rules for myself… (obviously you get to make up your own!)
Empty - tick off list
Expired - bin it
Unsure - give it another week
Hate it or react badly - Bin or give away
Honestly, I have just realised that this list is going to be F, Marry or Kill, but with skincare & hair care.
I am going to collate my stats and see if I have staple products, brands or ingredients I don’t get along with and patterns associated with waste/overspending.

OvaHere · 08/11/2025 08:39

@Fraaahnces I've stopped pushing through with products I truly hate. There's not many that get binned but I decided it kills too much joy to keep going. I'm fine with using up things that are just okay but if I actively hate it then it's going.

Agreed re it killing joy. I need to start binning instead of soldiering on. Although some I repurpose. I'm currently using a serum that was a bit too greasy for for face as a body serum. I have a moisturiser that is too rich for my face in my body lotion box.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 08/11/2025 10:34

I've had a clear out of makeup bits which I tried to give away on local free site but they person hasn't turned up so I may just bin.

3.No liquid lipsticks I was given, they just don't last on the lips
Benefit Fan fest mascara - I wear glasses and this doesn't hold a curl like the roller lash so my lashes push against my glasses.
Glossier skin tint - this stuff doesn't really do much, I prefer my other BB creams and foundations.

suburburban · 08/11/2025 10:39

Grotty old perfumes make good air fresheners in bathroom

I’m doing quite well and trying to use up all the little tubes I have accumulated before buying any more big pots

using Emma Hardy shower oil, it’s ok but nothing spectacular

Fraaahnces · 08/11/2025 11:56

@paristotokyo I have just gone in hard with PDRN products. Happy to share my first reaction thoughts… (Preview?) The Numbuzin Toner is lovely. (And very pretty.) It has a nice and hydrating and a manageable, viscous formula that is neither watery or milky. I’m not crazy about watery toners, as I find it annoying trying to slap it onto my face while it runs up into my armpits. I suspect this one's very lightly fragranced, but it’s barely noticeable. The Genabelle PDRN booster has annoying packaging. It’s one of those unnecessary, pseudo-medical ampoule bottles with a plastic plug that is covered by a difficult to remove, very sharp metal cover. It all has to come off and then all of that is replaced by a clear, rubbery nozzle that you “milk” to get the product out. The tip has a screw top lid and it’s all very fiddly. The juice seems nice though. I am not sure I would trust this packaging when travelling. Doesn’t smell like an overly-excited male salmon so that’s good news. The NAD+ Bio essence is not one you could use under makeup. It’s a gel-cream texture but leaves a stickyish, occlusive layer. I am pleased I used a headband as hair would stick to this like cat fur on a velvet soda. It’s great for my aged face but I will only use this in the evening. I actually really like how it feels around my eyes. It’s very soothing and has no discernible scent. Five minutes after the first application I can guarantee I still wouldn’t be asked for ID If I wanted to buy alcohol. (Yet.)

paristotokyo · 08/11/2025 12:16

@FraaahncesI’m the same with watery toners. I do like it as a first step but hate slapping it on with my hands. So I’ve had a revelation recently where I realised I can just decant them into mist bottles and use them that way. I love a good mist. The only PDRN product I’ve used is the medicube 99% one day serum thingies that come in a single use plastic tube thing. It was in an edit I bought, otherwise I don’t really like the plastic waste so won’t be a rp. There’s only 5 in there so not enough to know if I like it any way. But good to know there’s no whiff of overly excited salmon 😂 whatever that would smell like.. fishy? The NAD+ essence was in my basket and I had intended it to go in my night time routine so that’s good to know, thanks!

OvaHere · 08/11/2025 12:24

I like using watery toners and essences with my hands but agree with @Fraaahnces I like them to have some viscosity to them otherwise I feel like I waste a lot of it. I also like a mist and have saved a couple of empty bottles so I can repurpose anything too watery into them.

BlueHeat · 08/11/2025 22:45

A couple of minis I’ve used up:

Drunk Elephant Jelly Cleanser - It’s nice but I find it a bit drying on me, especially now it’s getting colder.

Drunk Elephant Protini moisturiser - My go to moisturiser, really like it and always have several in my stash.

Interesting to read about how you’re all organising your products. I seem to be building my stash up as quickly as I use it up. I did a Stylevana order earlier, oops, having stumbled into their half price section.
