@BlueHeat agree on the k beauty sunscreens. My fave is Numbuzin No1 as it has a green tint which tones down my pinky skin but I also love the BoJ. None that I've tried have stung my eyes which is great as so many do - I couldn't get on with UV for that reason. I also like La Roche Posay sunscreen too so if I couldn't get hold of korean ones I would be happy enough with that.

Thanks for the recommendation, have noted that one too.

i have used LRP in the past and it is really good, I just get bored and seek out shiny new things…

Caggie09 · 24/08/2025 20:22

Couple more empties from tonight-

Patchology eye gels - Freebie from SpaceNk online order. Nice enough, every Sunday i always whack a pair on. Do slip down my face though, but refreshing. Just repurchased Pixi ones to open next.

Lacura Body Scrub - SDJ dupe. I quite like an Aldi knock off😆Lovely scent and my skin was nice after using. Not too harsh, enough to get the job done. Would repurchase.

@Caggie09 I've got the Patchology eye patches on this morning. Also a freebie from SNK. They just won't stay put which is annoying. I've never tried Pixi ones but I can recommend Heimish Bulgarian Rose eye patches, big tub, lasts for ages and are very refreshing. They don't slip down either.

Experiment627 · 25/08/2025 12:37

I have another empty:

  • L'Oreal Brow Colour: this must be the messiest brow colour I have used yet - the colour keeps wanting to escape from the tube. It also stains quite a bit and the instructions are hard to follow. Colour result is fine though.

@OvaHere Oh thanks, i will take a look and keep note for when i run out of my Pixi ones!

ememem84 · 26/08/2025 20:49

Finished a dove bar this morning. nothing exciting.

and used up the l’occitane hand cream I had on my desk.

almost finished a perfume too.

BlueHeat · 26/08/2025 21:26

A couple more empties from me -

Benton fermented mask - This was nice, my skin’s lovely and glowy. May buy again.

Augstinus Bader Rich Cream sample - Gorgeous cream, very rich. A bit expensive for me to buy a full size right now, as much as I’d love to, but maybe one day!

Buster27 · 26/08/2025 22:24

wild source cleansing melt - handy size for travelling and did the job. I do like a bit more scent though.

cien manuka honey night moisturiser - wasn't keen on the texture, wouldn't RP.

The Body Shop mango lip butter - not a big fan of TBS lip butters, won't buy.

Joules bergamot and clementine body wash - lovely scent, enjoyed using this.

Beauty Pie Youthbomb serum - my friend passed this onto me as she didn't get on with it, mainly due to scent (it does have a slightly yeast like smell but only momentarily). I've actually tried this before and blamed it for breakouts, so not sure why I decided to try again, but it didn't cause breakouts this time. I don't think it did anything though so I wouldn't buy again, which is helpful as Im not a BP member anymore!

Beauty Pie Shinkai electrolyte drench moisturiser - really liked this and it reminded me that I love a gel moisturiser in the day. Probably would have bought again if I still had my membership, but I'm sure other gel moisturisers will do the trick so I'll look out for one (once I finish my moisturiser stash, hopefully there's a gel one or two lurking in there).

I have an empty to report:

  • Sanex skin therapy anti-itchiness & anti-irritation body wash: I think this is my second bottle. I would probably RP again if I saw it on offer. I think I prefer the Sanex calming one - the smell is lovely. But probably not a good idea to have fragrance going on to my very unhappy skin.

Hi everyone.... I've NC'ed but was here for a loooong time. I've been ill and just coming back to the universe. I will report when I have interesting bits and bobs. Thanks to the flood in our bathroom over the weekend, an enforced chuck out is happening. (Amazing how quickly damp lipsticks go mouldy here.)

Caggie09 · 27/08/2025 15:36

Two empties today

Dove body wash pomegranate & hibiscus. Always enjoy using a dove body wash, not my favourite scent. Cant beat the original scent imo.

Chantecaille lip sheer- shade swallowtail. I did enjoy using it, a better alternative for a lipstick for me. As i do like a small pop of colour. The shade was pretty, and it was hydrating. But not that stand out that i would rush out to buy again! I did start digging the product out that would no longer reach the top, but its too much faff so time to go.

ITookYourJoob · 28/08/2025 13:10

1 Litre of body scrub - amazing value, but didn’t scrub much.

Fresh Black tea face cream - really rich and brightening, but I think I prefer Farmacy for very thick creams. Probably will buy again though, because it felt nice on.

Inde Wild vitamin c serum - used it as a face mask before shower. I just can’t stand the smell- turmeric and something else.

Ukhair growth serum - didn’t notice any difference. I actually prefer the Grow Gorgeous version, it did seem to make my hair thicker.

@Fraaahncesim so happy you are back! I am a long time lurker (im never going to have empties worth talking about) but your words of wisdom on skincare products are the reason I follow this thread and have started to dabble with Korean and Japanese brands.
Glad you are well enough to appear again Flowers

Seconded @Fraaahnces . I would never have discovered the joys of K-Beauty otherwise.

Glad to hear you're well again.

CorneliaStreet · 28/08/2025 18:07

Welcome back @Fraaahnces, glad to hear you’re on the mend.

Some more empties:

Elf Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm - 56.5g. Really liked this, effective and easy to use texture.

Lush Lemon Aid Facial Cleanser - 120g. The Lush cleansers all seem to be a paste that you mix with water and they all seem to contain ground almonds and other random bits of food (in this case, lemon peel). It wasn’t awful but I didn’t want to use it anywhere near my eyes because of the bits. Also only had a three month expiry date.

Clarins Total Eye Hydrate - 7ml. Fine, did the job. This is the last eye cream in the stash other than a couple of retinol ones, but not really bothered if I use an eye cream or not.

Rodial Glass Primer - 30ml. Got this is the JL advent and didn’t think I’d use it, but loved it when I tried it. Gave a nice glow without being too shiny.

Tocca Belle perfume mini - ok, but a bit sharp for me. Too much petitgrain.

Rituals Ayurveda Recovery Hand Balm - 70ml. Also from the JL advent. I like this scent and it’s a nice hand cream formula. Might not be moisturising enough in winter though.

Lush Rub Rub Rub body scrub - 130g. Not very scrubby and left my skin feeling a bit oily. Smelled amazing though.

Le Petit Olivier Verbena Lemon shower cream - 500ml. Good dupe scent wise for the L’Occitane verbena shower gel.

Lush Serpentine shower gel - 280g. Another amazing Lush scent (weird that I don’t like patchouli in perfume but I seem to like all the Lush products with patchouli). Shower gel was a very dark green colour, which did interesting things to the walls of my shower.

Bath & Body Works Perfect in Pink body lotion - 236ml. Cherry and almond scented 🙂

Korres Basil Lemon Body Smoothing Milk - 200ml. Misleading name as more of a thick body cream texture than a milk and no more smoothing than any other body lotion. Possibly my favourite ever summer scent though, love anything herby or lemony and even better mixed together.

You lot are so lovely! Thanks for the welcome back. I am sure I have a few newer KBeauty bits and bobs to rave about soon. (Had to cheer myself up while unwell, after all.)

Caggie09 · 29/08/2025 17:55

Byoma Face mist- enjoyed this, a nice mist, sinks into the skin well. Dont think ive used a Byoma product i didnt like using tbh. Already RP.

Laniege Bouncy Firm serum- Texture isnt my favourite. I think its okay, not worth the price. You can get cheaper thats better.

Briogeo hair oil- A rose scent, which is one of my favourite smells for hair/body. Scent didnt carry through all day, but does make your hair nice and soft. Id RP a full size in the future.

OvaHere · 29/08/2025 18:41

Been meaning to post these all week.

Skin Rocks Cream Cleanser - Liked using this. I'd definitely use it again if it came in a beauty box or AC but don't think I'd rush out to buy it. If anyone is looking for a decent and slightly cheaper dupe I find the Boots No7 Future Renew Peptide cleanser to feel very similar. The Boots range is always on offer so you'd never have to pay the full RRP for it.

Elemis Cherry Cleansing Balm - I didn't like the texture of this the first time I tried it but I persevered and actually I've grown to quite like it. I find the cherry scent too strong though so need to try the others. It always seems to be in an edit or gwp so not sure I would ever buy it as a single item.

L'occitane hand cream - Like the smell but found it a bit greasy unless I used a very tiny amount. I would use it again but wouldn't purposefully buy it.

Sisley eye contour mask - tiny sample but it did last about a week using it in the PM. Feels lovely. I would purchase but it's expensive, may look for an offer.

Sisley Black Rose mask - Nice. Will always use these minis up when they come my way but I prefer the Velvet Flowers mask much more.

Sunday Riley Auto Correct x 2 - These have to be my most featured item. I've ended up with a load of them this year. I think (but not totally sure) that these are my last two minis. Not really complaining as it's my fave AM eye cream but I might actually get round to using the full size one I bought now.

I have some empties to report:

  • Steradent active plus daily cleaner: I feel so resentful that I have to buy these cleaners... have any of you tried an ultrasonic cleaner for mouthguards? Maybe that is the way to go - more sustainable and in the long run cheaper?
  • Vagisil daily soothe & protect cream: my unexplained itching took up residence recently in my Lady Garden. This has been a GOD SEND. I am now using every day just to keep on top of things.

EMPTIES: I have used up some Tsubaki Volume & Repair shampoo & conditioner. Love. For some reason, this makes my superfine (cat) hair feel stronger and it’s so shiny. I have repurchased already. I also love the matching hair mask. It’s better than my old fave Fino. Also smells nicer, IMO.
Unove Deep Damage Treatment. Smells great but is a smidge too heavy for my locks. I use it as a mask on ends, but not convinced it’s reparative. Some By Mi Propolis B5 oil to foam cleanser. It’s okaaaay, but not a love. It doesn’t work as an oil cleanser and it’s not a real foam either. Aveeno Oat Cleanser was equally meh. Okay for morning wash but doesn’t actually clean skin properly. Using a Biore foaming cleanser and a separate cleansing oil and they’re lovely. The OG and the best Isehan Kissme Speedy Mascara Remover. Love it. Decided to try a couple of others and they just didn’t cut the mustard. I have re-ordered. The others will be binned as soon as they arrive.
I have binned some lipsticks that I loved, but were discontinued years ago. Pity….I really loved them. Also some Fenty lip glosses from holidays past. Everything ancient, manky or mouldy is going….
Finished a Fenty Body Sauce in Pearl. I use this as foundation. Devastated that it was discontinued.
I am waiting for a YESSTYLE order to be processed atm. I have purchased some blushes and a highlighter for Summer. (Rumored to be a very decent dupe for Chanel One.)!Shall report.
