I've finished a Boots future renew spf50. Really like this, its not greasy and doesn't break me out. Also impressed how long it lasted as its quite expensive. I did stock up on 3 more of these in the boots 3for2 deal. My fav sunscreen!

olivelime · 28/06/2025 21:17

I'm hoping the same
@OvaHere 😆

I still need to get caught up, but for now here are my latest empties:

  • Amazon extra strong denture cleaning tablets: really good value for money
  • The Ordinary multi-peptide & HA serum: this used to be called "Buffet". This is a nice serum to use.
  • QV moisturising cream: have absolutely loved this. But what with all my skin issues at the minute 100g lasted all of 3 days.
  • Kingfisher fennel fluoride toothpaste: HG
  • Lanolips lip balm: not my fave
  • Roger & Gallet soap: not actually sure what smell this was but I love their soaps
  • Superdrug deep action blemish stickers: transparent! Great for occasional spots.
  • L'Oreal casting creme gloss conditioner with honey: so annoying as loads left in bottle but so hard to get out.
  • Oribe hair alchemy heatless styling balm: smells absolutely divine - reminds me of a Chopard scent that hotels sometimes have. BUT did nada for my hair.

@MidnightMeltdown I adore the Tresemme Replenish & Cleanse shampoo! Great on my oily roots! Also adore the Tresemme lamellar shine range. It is so interesting how product results vary so much from one person to the next but I guess variety is the spice of life.

Welcome to the thread @olivelime !

I wasn't doing quite as well as I'd hoped then I had my birthday and people bought me toiletries so I'm doing even worse now! Hopefully I'll be able to catch up in July but it's beauty drop month so that might make it challenging.

Finally got round to taking a photo of my empties. Apologies for the rubbish photo with a shadow.

Numbuzin NAD BIO mask - have a couple of boxes of these. Really like them. I think I've done a review before in other posts.

BoJ Centella Asiatica Calming Mask - have a box of these but this was the first one I tried. Liked it a lot.

Numbuzin No1 Dewy Glow mask - Just had a single one of these which is a good job because I didn't like it. Very slimy, wasn't fond of the scent and felt like the gel on the mask just sat on my skin rather than being absorbed. Took it off after 10 minutes and washed my face.

3 x single use VT Reedle Shot sachets - these are three different types Cica, Vita and PDRN. I like the Cica and the Vita as they have a serum texture but the PDRN is more like a cream. They are supposed to be a first step so I don't find the cream texture works for that.

Pureology Strength Cure Shampoo - Really like this. I finished the conditioner ages ago so the remainder of this sat there a while whilst I tried other products. I've got quite a stash of S&C to use up but would repurchase this.

Full size and travel size Glow Recipe Avocado Cleanser - a favourite. I already have another of these.

Philip Kingsley Elastcizer - Like everyone else on the planet I seem to have accumulated a few of these so decided to start using them. It's okay. Don't think I would buy it but I'll probably never have to as long I keep buying beauty boxes and advent calendars.

SDJ Shower Creme - Think this was in an advent calendar. I don't love this particular scent but it's a nice shower cream.

Geek & Gorgeous A Game retinal - Liked this. It's inexpensive and nice to use. I've got a MediK8 one to use next but I would repurchase, probably in a higher strength.

Aestura Atobarrier Cream - Lovely hydrating cream. Great for irritated skin. Would RP.

D'Alba White Truffle facial spray - Like this and purchased a larger size. I like to use it after cleansing or after a shower.

Elf Cleansing Balm - Just a mini size but I was impressed with this. Not my favourite as I like a bit of scent but if I wanted a low cost balm (about £10 full size) I'd buy this.

SK-11 Treatment Essence - My skin adores this so I already repurchased as it was running out. Wish it was cheaper but it lasts a decent amount of time.

Lacura Watermelon Lip balm - It was fine. Got a bit fed up of it in the end as I thought it was never going to be finished. Probably won't RP because it's Aldi middle aisle so doubt I'll see it again.

Rahua Shampoo and Conditioner - These were in a GWP. Didn't think much of them so not for me.

2 x Sisley Velvet Sleeping Mask minis - Absolutely fell in love with these as an overnight mask. It really does seem to give a plumped effect in the morning. Despite the v high price I did buy a full size and use it sparingly alternating with cheaper overnight masks.

Banilla Clean it Zero cleansing balm - Just a mini I took away with me. I think this is the fragrance free one. The Banilla balms are my favourites but I prefer the pink one.

Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream - Tiny 7ml size but it did last a while. I already use this so know I enjoy it.

Augustinus Bader The Retinol Serum - Another tiny sample from a GWP. I liked this, felt nice and didn't irritate. I suspect it's not particularly high strength. I wouldn't spend this much on a retinol due to good affordable products being available. It doesn't look and feel much different to the Geek and Gorgeous one.

Have empties to repot:
Biossance squalene and hyaluronic mist - love this and have a full size and mini to use up next. Mini will go in my gym bag. This is a staple of mine and I use it like a toner as a first step
Purito centella serum - really liked this for my sensitive skin as it feels soothing. I’d probably purchase but going back to skin1004 centella ampoule in its place for now. These two I alternate between

Realised I missed reporting on a tiny Gisou Hair oil sample from the photo. Wasn't keen on this, I found it a bit sticky so wouldn't buy it.

ITookYourJoob · 01/07/2025 10:10

Boots shower gel - cheap and feels it.

Elizabeth Arden deodorant - only use this one now. Would like to get other scents too.

Other Stories body cream - very disappointing. Feels cheap and plasticky. Sadly have another tub. Not worth the money at all.

Lancome eye cream - I think I’ve never actually bought it. I always get it within a set or as Gwp. Have used about a litre of it by now - nice enough, but nothing outstanding.

Sunday Riley c.e.o - very nice, but again, there are better creams out there for the price.

Sun bum lip balm - tried it once. Taste awful. Bin.

Sunday Riley autocorrect eye cream - has shimmer in it, so gives visual improvement quickly. I think Nivea Rose gold cream is similar.

Glow recipe lip mask - started great but after a while really irritated my lips. Similar thing with Laniege. Can’t use these long term it seems.

Nuxe hand cream - nice lemon scient. A bit thin.

Ouai detox shampoo - really liked it and bought bigger size. Keeps hair clean for a long time.

Clinique sample - have had this cream before, quite sticky.

Elemis marine cream - classic beauty box item.

valentino dolce viva sample - way too sweet.

Holika Holika pimple patches- did absolutely nothing. There are better ones out there.

Ouai anti frizz cream - smells nice but I prefer Olaplex no6.

Valquer leave in hair treatment - I think it improved my hair a bit, hard to tell. To be fair it is designed to be used as a part of a system.

Starskin masks x3 - read amazing reviews but really doesn’t do much.

Philip Kingsley elasticised - we all know where these come from 😁

66/100

rituals shower foam - I like this a lot, a friend usually buys me rituals treats as presents so I hope some more will appear.
rituals overnight hand cream - its lovely and smells soothing before bed
sisley black rose cream - if I could afford it I’d buy it, always a welcome sight in beauty boxes and calendars
espa body serum - super light body oil, works beautifully

Have finished a make up item, for once!
ByTerry CC liquid blush - this is a lovely blendable illuminating blush. Shade rosy flash. It’s a clicky pen type thing that you apply on with a brush. I’m not a fan of the packaging despite liking the product as it’s very pretty on and buildable

Some more empties:

Mario Badescu glycolic acid toner - 236ml. Didn’t want to use this on my face because it’s glycolic acid and Mario Badescu, so used on the backs of my arms. Did a very good job at keeping the KP bumps at bay.

Sunday Riley Good Genes lactic acid - 8ml. This was great, didn’t irritate my skin at all and my skin always looked good the day after using it.

Murad retinol eye serum - 15ml. Didn’t like this as an eye cream - it was too runny so moved around and then really stung if it got in my eyes. Gave up after a few weeks and used it up as a general face serum.

Lip balms - the Laneige lip sleeping mask is a staple and the Neutrogena was surprisingly good. Didn’t disappear after a couple of minutes like a lot of stick lip balms.

Travel size perfumes - Commodity Juice (liked it, but already have something similar) and Tocca Lucia (have bought a full size).

Beauty Bay Strengthen & Hydrate shampoo and conditioner- 250ml each. Shampoo was ok but nothing special, conditioner was awful. Had a weird body lotion like consistency and didn’t even detangle my hair.

OGX biotin & collagen conditioner - 385ml. Conditioner itself was fine but I’m not buying anything else from OGX because of the packaging. It’s always hard to get the product out and the curved top means you can’t stand the bottle upside down.

Lush Turkish Delight body wash - 100g. A bit drying on the skin (unusual for Lush) but nice rosy scent.

Tree Hut Tropic Glow body scrub - 510g. Love Tree Hut scrubs.

Organic Shop Sweet Raspberry body lotion - 250ml. Too thick and hard to apply. Had to force myself to use this one up.

Lush Quishion hand cream - 100g. Not particularly keen on the scent but otherwise fine.

Oh wow people seem to be doing great with their empties. My two boring ones:

Nicea soft cream. Great mini. Does not disappoint. Cheap and cheerful with a lovely fragrance.

Huggies wipes. A staple

I've got another 3. Sorry no photo because it's late and I'm lazy.

Farmacy Green Clean cleansing balm mini - Didn't really like this, found it a bit difficult to emulsify and was slightly lumpy. The apple scent was very synthetic. Wouldn't buy this.

Lancome Génifique Eye Cream mini - It was okay, more of a gel/serum texture than a cream. I prefer the Estee Lauder ANR one.

Mary & May Blackberry Cream Essence Toner travel size- This is a Bi-Phase type toner that you need to shake before use. I like it a lot, very hydrating. I have a large size in my stash I found at TKMaxx.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 04/07/2025 09:21

Hada Labo Rohto Memtholatum Vit C essence - love it. Have a few more in the stash.

No 7 day cream and night cream. Handy for weekends away.

111skin mask. No idea what it was meant to do but I didn't notice any difference.

Bare minerals concealer (not in the photo). Mainly used by dd who obviously didn't close it properly so it dried out and had to bin.

I'm at 37 items finished so far this year. I'm really going to have to increase the rate I'm using stuff if I'm going to get anywhere near 100 in the year. I do have a load of sheet masks so I could start using them. Not a fan of sheet masks though.

Just finished a 4ml pot of Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng eye cream.

I really like this. The full size seems really difficult to track down even on k beauty sites and I don't want to buy another set just for the eye cream. Does anyone know where it can be purchased as a single item?

ememem84 · 05/07/2025 10:09

Boring use ups here

a dettol bar soap

ememem84 · 05/07/2025 11:17

Ooh finished a benefit they’re real mascara. Didn’t love it.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 05/07/2025 12:12

My makeup usage has absolutely tanked with hayfever season.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 07/07/2025 22:14

Empties:

Aveeno body wash. A staple, does not dry skin. We have plenty.

Trial sample for an oat shower gel. Was nice, smelt coconutty. Unfortunately, the brand is a mistery.

gel de baño 960 bought in Spain in conjunction with the body spray. Nice fragrance, but as a shower gel it’s terrible. Too drying.

Bonding shampoo by Aldi. Bought this in the hopes that it was a fantastic replacement for Olaplex. Well, it is not. It’s terrible. Too drying and does not lather.
I am using the rest of the range as I self inflict these things on me. Would not rp.

Garnier apricot shampoo. Love this, brings back memories for me. Would rp.

Frudia citrus brightening foam. Very stripping, used mainly in the shower as a face wash. Smells ok but probably there are better alternatives.

3 random children nail polishes that are dried. No Rp at any cost.

4 bath bombs not pictured.

2 oil balls, not pictured. The ones you add to the bath and release a fragrant oil. The ones I have are vanilla and I am using them up at the moment. Purchased more than a decade ago. I have not seen them since.

I tried the Clairol Colourstrong permanent hair dye - which has "AHA bonding" - you apply a "primer" to mids to tips before applying colour and then there is a conditioner with the AHAs in it too. It was ok but to be honest I got better results with the Revlon Colorstay longwear colour cream.

Empty to report which wasn’t really an empty:
Summer Fridays lipbalm in brown sugar - my kid has been spending a curious amount of time in bathroom where I forgetfully left my make up bag, went to use my balm this morning and it was filled with water 😳 I’m sure I’ll find some lipsticks that have been turned all the way up with their lids still on, too 🤦🏻‍♀️ so I’ve chucked this anyway but I’m kind of glad as I didn’t really love it and have millions of balms to get through

LivingDeadGirlUK · 10/07/2025 16:39

I've finished a Boots No7 radiance day cream, its got vitamin C and SPF in. I found it really light and it sunk in lovely. Would repurchase. I'm not onto a little pot from elements I got in the M&S beauty calander, not impressed so far.

ememem84 · 12/07/2025 08:26

Charlitte tilbury magic cream done. Still not sure about this one. I mean it feels lovely and rich. But is it worth the price?

it was a gift to me so in that sense yes. But would I re buy? Probs not.

My DD swears by this especially as primer for base make up. I usually buy her one at xmas. I keep thinking I should try it but I also never think it looks worth the price. I'm not sure why because I've paid more for other creams.
