62/100 miscount

paristotokyo · 08/06/2025 15:37

Empty from me finally as I’m going through things very slowly currently as self care just isn’t high on the list at the moment!
Erborian red correct cc cream travel size - I really liked this and bought a full size when it was only half way through. It’s really good, love it as it’s so light and doesn’t feel like I’m wearing anything but just removes the redness. Travel size lasted a long time.
I’ve moved to SE Asia and I’m in skincare heaven but I really have to resist the shops as I have a large stash to work though.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 08/06/2025 15:55

Is ALL of REN being discontinued @wheresmyshoe ?! That's a bit of a shock if so.

wheresmyshoe · 08/06/2025 16:32

Sadly so @LivingDeadGirlUKUnilever have decided not to continue with it, it’s expected to be all over for REN by the end of the year. Such a shame.

Choux · 08/06/2025 18:22

What??? I thought it was a typo and REN were discontinuing the Evercalm cream only.

i am shocked as 1 I had no idea it was owned by Unilever - I though it was still a small independent brand. And 2 I am shocked they have decided to wind it up. Although as I was wandering through a huge Boots with a massive beauty section and the toiletries section of TK Maxx today I was thinking there were just sooo many brands each having a huge number of products. The market must be so competitive.

ITookYourJoob · 09/06/2025 10:06

Boots everyday shower gel - not a fan, very slippery. Sadly have more, so will have to keep using them.

Sebastian No Breaker - does make a difference. Hair seems less dry. Very easy to use as well. Not dramatic enough to replace though.

Nivea shower gel - lovely!

Sunday Rain scrub - mint without being cooling! Really enjoyed using it, would buy again.

Nuxe shower gel - nothing special, scent is typical Nuxe scent as well.

Cowshed body lotion - far too much lavender. Not for me.

Lancome Renergie cream - hmm, something has upset my face, not sure if it’s this cream or all the other minis I’ve been using up.

Sunday Riley afterglow - not keen on the smell, otherwise ok. Would not buy again, I think there are better creams for mature face.

Estée Lauder eye cream - too thick and didn’t seem to soak up well.

Boots cleaning wipes - quite good actually. Great for travelling.

Dove bar used up.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 13/06/2025 07:49

I've finished a Q+A salicylic acid body wash that was left over from when we got scabies a few years ago, i've still got lots of spots on my back so not sure about this one and wouldn't repurchase.

MidnightMeltdown · 13/06/2025 11:41

Empties update:

  1. Tresemme Replenish and Cleanse Shampoo - Awful stuff. Like washing your hair with washing up liquid. I thought that it was more environmentally friendly to buy a giant 900ml bottle, but I haven’t yet met a Tresemme product that I like, so giving up!

  2. Calm Shower Cream - meh, nothing special

  3. Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturiser - liked this. It was a good consistency for my skin

  4. All Clean Balm - not as good as Elemis but not bad and a lot cheaper! Lasted ages.

  5. Lancome Hypnose Mascara - since using tubing mascaras I don’t have time for these ones that smudge down your face.

  6. Susanne Kaufmann Herbal Bath Whey - not bad but prefer Epsom salts

Total: 24/110

Progress has been slow but I still haven’t bought any beauty products yet this year so feeling virtuous!

I'm impressed @MidnightMeltdown I wish I could say the same. Despite my new year promises I've been terrible. Suppose there's always next year! 😂

paristotokyo · 13/06/2025 14:55

So I indulged in little bit retail therapy as I needed shampoo and conditioner. Bought the Tsubaki premium for hair fall & repair (Japanese brand, purple bottle). I already had the hair mask which is lovely so excited to try these out. So far my hair feels really smooth and shiny and it smells great. Will be interested to see if there is a reduction in hair fall… now to continue to resist all the amazing k/j-beauty stores, ahhhh!

MidnightMeltdown · 13/06/2025 18:01

Thank you@OvaHere🙂. I feel that making it through almost half a year without any purchases has been an achievement for me. However, I do have a RIDICULOUS amount of stuff and no space to store anything new, so it’s at the point where I really do have to stop buying! DP came out of the bathroom the other day and commented that I seem to have ‘rather a lot’ of beauty products. He has no idea that I have about 10 times that amount stashed in the spare room… 😳

Minnie123456 · 15/06/2025 09:27

A few more empties to report, although it doesn't seem like my stash is going anywhere 🤦‍♀️
Elemis pro collagen cleansing balm- I wasn't sure about this at 1st, it felt like I was putting lemon curd jam on my face lol. By the time I finished it I quite liked it, I do have another in my stash.

Cerave moisturising cream- this belonged to DH but he didn't like it. I used this everywhere especially after getting my eyebrows waxed as it was gentle. Will rp at some stage.

Satin care shave gel- nothing special although I usually buy this one. Excuse the messy tin, it started rusting after a while🤷‍♀️ I might try something different after I finish the current one.

AB The rich cream- I do like this but don't think I can justify the price for a full size

Baylis&harding candy apple body wash- meh, wouldn't rp.

John Freida protein infused shampoo- I have had this for years. It used to make my hair feel nice but lately it felt like my hair had a coating on it.

Daisee body spray- cheak body spray dupe, it was ok, although I prefer body mists now.

Charlotte's magic serum crystal elixir- this was ok, it was a tiny sample. The dropper stopped working after abit. Not sure if I would rp.

S&G hand food original- this was a big tube that I had to cut to get the rest out. Would rp.

Britney Spears Fantasy- another perfume finished 🥳 I do like like this but I was glad when it was finished as it took forever to get through. I think I have 2 smaller ones in my stash🤦‍♀️

Bamford shower gel- was ok, didn't lather up alot, don't think I'd rp.

Skin 1004 tone brightening serum sample- I got a few uses out of this but not enough to see if it did anything, it made my skin feel nice. Might rp to see if I like it.

Jo Loves Cobalt Patchouli & Cedar sample- hated this. I'm so glad it was a sample. It says it's a unisex fragrance but it was definately more on the masculine side.

55/100

Finished this months Skin+me daily doser.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 20/06/2025 08:13

I've finished a perfume, Autograph Rivera Neroli which is a lovely fresh scent. Lots of others in my stash from beauty boxes etc

CorneliaStreet · 22/06/2025 10:18

Empties:

Beauty Bay chamomile & oat cleansing balm - 90ml. Good value and does the job, but it’s quite a hard formula and needs a bit of effort to melt it down so not as nice to use as some other cleansing balms.

Super Facialist Vitamin C cleansing oil - 200ml. I’ve had this bottle on the go for well over a year as it’s pretty big and I much prefer cleansing balms to oils. It’s a good product though - gets make up off really easily, washes off cleanly and smells lovely.

Innisfree Green Tea hyaluronic serum - 10ml. Very lightweight and didn’t feel particularly hydrating. Also hyaluronic acid seems to be in every cleanser and moisturiser anyway, so a separate serum seems a bit unnecessary.

Manyo Bifida Biome Complex ampoule - 30ml. Not sure what bifida biome complex is supposed to do, but this was a great serum, really soothing and hydrating. Would get this again.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Overnight Matrix - 15ml. I like the regular pro- collagen night cream but didn’t get on with this. The matrix is more of a gel-cream texture so should be lighter but it seemed to just sit on top of my skin and not absorb properly, so my skin actually felt greasier.

Lush None of Your Beeswax lip balm. A nice lip balm but it went grainy in the pot towards the end. Same thing happened with the other two Lush lip balms I’ve tried despite them all being used up well within the expiry date. Not sure what’s going on there.

Living Proof Full shampoo and conditioner - 60ml each. Not keen, weighed my hair down a bit and had greasy roots by the end of the day.

Lush Golden Egg shower gel - 125g. Loved this. Smelled amazing and felt lovely on the skin.

Lush Snuggles shower gel - 115g. Didn’t smell anywhere near as nice as the Golden Egg and was really creamy and moisturising, to the point of being too much so. Good for shaving though.

Few more:

Aveda leave in treatment. It’s good.
Nursem have cream - very effective.
Wow dream coat, very good for frizzy days.
Sunday Riley A+ serum, was ok, prefer cult 51, Lancôme or Clarins.

A couple of bath bombs gone.

A soap by esencias de Portugal gone too. No pictures for these. Good for the shower for underarms to stop the bacteria from growing.

Denenes cologne, gone. Love this smell on clothes, hair.. it’s lovely

Aveeno cream, a staple in thisnhousehold

sakura face foam, from tk maxx. Does not smell, I didn’t like it much.

sanex gel, ok does the job, it is not drying.

huggies wipes, another staple.

Milk body wash. Lovely smell. It’s a Korean brand, found in TKmaxx. Reminds me of coco mademoiselle.

head and shoulders apple. I like it and it’s a rp.

savn d’avingnon rose from Lidl. It’s a great dupe for L’occitane. Love the price and the fragrance

I've finished a full size This Works Deep Sleep Body Whip, absolutely bloody lovely. Really want to repurchase but I have soooo many lotions.

Thereislightattheendofthetunnel · 26/06/2025 11:09

Some more that I am taking to the recycling:

sanex shower gel. Staple

sure bright bouquet. It’s ok but I don’t find it’s very good. Would not rp although I have 2 more.

Neusc c p Rosa. Great balm in stick for cracked hands. I love it. If you find it it’s great for my eczema sore hands.

air val eau my unicorn. EDT for children. Not bad, not superb. A bit meh for my taste.

byphasse matifiant face mask. Meh too. I am not sure if it’s because I don’t really like masks but could not see results either. Used it twice as there was lots of serum in.

vichy anti dandruff ds . Strange smell as it contains selenium. Just one use not enough to comment.

Nivea balm. Lovely smell, my DH uses it

I love this thread, often read but first time posting to it. Ita quite motivating to work your way through the empties! Top row is purchases I've intentionally made, bottom is things that came in a set or box of some sort.

Purchases:
Augustinus bader, rich cream: love this, best night cream. I save up for it and look out on vinted

Maria nila heal shampoo & conditioner: used in Scandinavia last summer and wanted to check if they worked as well with the water here - they do

Byoma milky oil cleanser: love this, already rebought

Monderma tret: big fan, rebought

Pixie glow tonic: I like these toners but no room in skincare regime at mo

John Frida brunette blending conditioner: pointless because my greys are at my roots!

Beauty box/advent calendar/gift set stash:

Agent nateur oil: First oil I've used and I loved it. Rebought off vinted.

Kat Burkina vitamin c intense cream: liked but already have vit c serum

Skin rocks the moisturiser: liked but prefer my usual day cream

Origins retexurising mask: fairly nice, liked the very light exfoliant

AB ultimate soothing cream: nice but prefer texture of the rich cream

Wildsourse cleansing melt: OK, not blown away

Charlotte mensch marketing oil conditioner: smells divine but these are too pily for my very thin hair

Sunday Riley good genes: heard great things but didn't love, would sell on if I got another one in a set

Neals yard rehydration rose facial oil: tried this after the agent nateur one ran out, really didn't like it. Wouldn't buy.

@olivelime I love the AB Rich Cream too. Weirdly I wasn't keen when I first used it but by the time I'd finished the bottle it was a firm favourite for night time. Sometimes I instantly like something but other times they grow on me and end up as staple products.

I know everyone sighs when they are in the advent calendars but I'm hoping they still are this year so I can hit Vinted for a restock also.

I've got a pile of empties I need to get round to posting. I've done quite well at finishing stuff off this month.
