Yep @LivingDeadGirlUKi have some elasticiser and some Percy and reed overnight recovery from advent calendars that have been hanging around for a few YEARS. Now I am in my thread and the weather is getting warmer they are on my radar to use up over the summer.

OvaHere · 13/05/2025 21:25

Few small empties

Sulwhasoo Ginseng Creamy Mask - Really lovely mask, very soothing and my skin felt lovely afterwards. Would RP but they are quite expensive for a singular mask so I think the Anua one I posted about up thread is a good, cheaper alt for more regular use.

Clarins Double Serum - I've got another 2 of these mini vials to use but I can't say it particularly wowed me on first use. Will use the others up before final thoughts as sometimes I'm wrong (see below).

Lancome Advanced Genifique Serum - I got this mini a while ago, used it a couple of times, didn't think it was all that great so abandoned it for a while.

Decided to finish it off last week for the sake of not wasting it and I think I actually do like it. Maybe I just needed to persist with using it a few nights in a row but I think it did give a nice skin glow and plumping that lasted through to the morning.

I've got ANR to use up but I might buy this sometime down the line to see if I do like it better than ANR with regular usage. Maybe I'll get the xmas set they always seem to do.

Couple of empties.

Superdrug +ME salicylic acid face wash, really like this would rebuy

Nivia refreshing day cream, but greasy probably wouldn't rebuy.

@Chouxplease tell us more about Mounjaro! Especially if you had any side effects xxx

Choux · 16/05/2025 07:42

@Experiment627with pleasure. I started taking it in March 2024 three weeks after it was released in the UK and I saw a thread posted on the Weight Loss board where people were ordering it. I weighed 188lb and am 5’ 5 so that was an obese BMI and I also had high cholesterol. At 54 and having lost my dad the previous year who I had looked after a lot I felt I really needed to sort my health out and I had a bit more time to focus on it.

I was fortunate enough to not have any real adverse side effects but I don’t think I am a super responder to it and I did focus on small portions of high protein salads rather than try and eat pizza or burgers on it. I did feel the suppression from the day after taking my first 2.5mg injection so it worked immediately but I needed to increase my dose every month to keep losing so after 6 months I was on 15mg. Some people react more strongly to it, can lose weight easily on 2.5mg and get very adverse side effects if they try a higher dose.

I lost 50lbs over 8 or 9 months using Mounjaro and eating high protein, low carb and am now maintaining for the last six months at that weight. But I am still on 10mg Mounjaro. I haven’t been able to up my exercise yet to allow me to maintain on a lower dose as I have been borderline anemic so no energy. The anemia isn’t Mounjaro related but eating less makes it harder to eat all your required vitamins and minerals eg I equated eating protein with eating iron when actually chicken and salmon have v little iron. After 2 weeks of some high strength supplements I started feeling better.

i am hoping to up the exercise and get to a point where I can maintain on 7.5 mg or even 5 mg later this year. I may manage to come off it completely when I stop work and have more time to myself but I may be on it for life. I don’t know yet. But it has undone the last 14 years of steady weight gain (see my weight chart) and I hugely recommend it. One of my friends and my brother have also used it and they have also had amazing results also with no issues from side effects.

Forgot to add the photo - this is my weight since 2011 on a graph.

thats Amazing @Choux sorry to hear about your loss of your Dad.

Buster27 · 17/05/2025 19:41

Garnier ultimate blends honey treasure shampoo and conditioner - I like this and have bought quite a few times. My only gripe is the conditioner bottle is very hard and it's a pain getting it out towards the end. My hair likes this though.

Paradox white nettle blow dry spray - spray nozzle was rubbish so I had to decant to another bottle. Didn't really do anything, won't buy.

Percy & Reed wonder overnight recovery - didn't notice any benefit from this so wouldn't buy.

Beauty Pie lash fuel - fell for the lash serum hype, don't think I really need this (but this did make me try a home lash lift kit from another brand, which I love!). I used this up on my eyebrows and I do think they look better for it, but maybe just because they're getting brushed into place and I normally neglect them. Won't rebuy.

Le Labo Rose 31 roll on - loved the scent but not keen on the roller ball. Would definitely consider the spray on version if I ever get on top of my perfume stash!

Beauty Pie concealer - love this, one more in the stash and then I'll look for a replacement due to not being a BP member anymore.

Philip Kingsley elasticizer booster - meh. Wouldn't buy.

@Chouxthank you so much for sharing your Mounjaro experience. I am so sorry about your dad passing xxx I will ask my GP about qualifying - I definitely hit the BMI trigger but I have no known medical issue (unless the constant itchy skin is one of them!). My concern is that I would eat even if not hungry.

@Buster27lash lift kit? Please give more details!

@Experiment627 it’s normally a private prescription, very few people meet the nhs criteria at the moment.

Appleby11 · 18/05/2025 08:21

Morning! I watch this thread as I do love a nightly count of all things that will be becoming empties and doing self reviews of them. I am nearing the end of a Vichy SPF 30 face sunscreen and am after a good invisible SPF 50 one next. I would rebuy Vichy but can anyone recommend any others that they would rebuy after an empty?

CorneliaStreet · 18/05/2025 10:54

@Appleby11 I’m a fan of Korean sunscreens. The Beauty of Joseon Aqua Sun (the one with blue on the packaging) and the Skin 1004 centella Hyalu-cica one are both great, really lightweight and invisible. Both SPF 50 and both available online at Boots and lots of other UK retailers.

Choux · 18/05/2025 11:55

BlueLimeRun · 18/05/2025 07:43

@Experiment627 it’s normally a private prescription, very few people meet the nhs criteria at the moment.

Yes I buy it privately at a cost of about £30 a week depending on the drug strength. Some of that is offset by spending less on food, the Benecol cholesterol drinks I previously needed and not buying clothes while dieting as I fit back into all the ones that got too small. But there is still a residual cost.

Buster27 · 18/05/2025 13:39

@Experiment627I bought the Sassy Saints lash lift kit after getting spammed with adverts - a bit fiddly but decent results. I've not used it for ages so can't remember how long it lasts, must dig it out again!

Appleby11 · 18/05/2025 14:13

@CorneliaStreet thank you! I'll have a look at those. I've got some products to finish off but the Korean skincare ranges are something I do want to try in other products too!

Minnie123456 · 19/05/2025 23:40

Some more empties.
Tropic nourishing lip balm- this was ok felt abit greasy at times.
4 bath bombs, 2 lemon and 2 citronella- had lost their scent.
MZ skin hydrabright gold eye masks- these where nice, not sure if I would rp though, not sure if eye masks actually do anything.
Skin cycles hydrating face mask- was ok, again not sure if sheet masks do anything.
Alien 30ml EDP- I'm so excited I actually finished a bottle of perfume. I liked this, don't need to rp as I have about a millon bottles of perfume 🤦‍♀️
AB The rich cream, full size- I really liked this, don't think I can justify the price though.
Sunday Riley good genes glycolic acid treatment- I didn't really like this, it stung my face . I think I have another one in my stash to use.
No 7 cleansing water- I will probably rp this at some stage.
Cien Q10 intense night cream- I didn't really like this, it was really hard to rub in.
Boots tropical dry shampoo- it was ok
Beauty pro collagen face mask- was ok
Beauty pro eye therapy mask- didn't like these, they where quite hard to get off.

I've finished the first month of my Hair+me hair growth perscription. Not seen any results yet but they do say it takes 3 months.

ememem84 · 20/05/2025 12:35

Pai facial cleanser done and dusted. i didnt really like it so much.

also gone and used up is the gel that the radiotherapy team gave me to help with the "sunburn" type rash. so glad that's gone. it felt nice an did the job, but medical cosmetics. yuk.

Experiment627 · 21/05/2025 12:52

Does that mean @ememem84 that you have completed your treatment? Hope your skin gets back to normal now xxx

Thanks @Buster27

@Fraaahnces I feel like we have not heard from you in a while - are you ok?

I have some empties to report:

  • Nivea soothing micellar water - definitely a fave for me. Like Bioderma only way cheaper.
  • Loreal Age Perfect cleansing milk (smoothing & anti-fatigue) - this is an absolute HG for me. Have been using on and off for yonks. Very inexpensive. Has SA so keeps on top of dead skin cells. Great at removing make-up too.
  • The Ordinary squalane cleanser - loved this. I feel like they changed this up since I last tried. Great to use with a gua sha.
  • Miles Kay retainer cleaner - I feel like I spend a disproportionate amount on keeping my night guard clean! I have moved on to some Amazon tablets... but am seriously considering investing in a ultrasonic cleaner...

Some more empties

Bioessence Squalene + Marine Algae Eye Cream - Didn't like this at first because it pilled under other products. Went back to it to use up at night and found it better on an evening when I'm not using make up or SPF. Not sure if I would RP but would use a sample or gwp again.

Sulwhasoo Ultimate S Eye Cream sachet - Got a bundle of these sachets on a K beauty site. Liked it on first use but the sachet contains 3/4 uses and doesn't like being exposed to air so it's not so great after the first opening and gets a bit clumpy.

Laura Mercier Neroli Du Sud Bath Oil - One use sample. Not keen on this scent and it wasn't really a big enough sample for a full bathtub. Not a RP although there are other LM scents I do like.

L’Oréal dream lengths shampoo and conditioner. Just used it up on dd after swimming.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 21/05/2025 22:04

I've chucked a nearly finished Teal Nails inc nail polish which apparently came free with in style magazine, god knows how old it was but its gone all manky.

ememem84 · 22/05/2025 09:17
