For those interested in DIY advents, the Bridal Beauty Co are selling their 2024 Festival bags for £30 (worth over £150) profits going to Breast Cancer Now

Are they good? I saw the interest last year and some of the other boxes look good but I’ve never taken the plunge?

MrsBnow12 · 19/10/2024 08:11

@Lurkingshark I have never had a festival goodie bag but have had two other mystery bags from them and been very happy with each one.
I do sell anything I won’t use on Vinted

LoveLabradors · 19/10/2024 08:40

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz I can’t get blue light card to work for the advent! Is it working for you please? In the end Neals Yard is the only one I’m considering going for.

ElizabethG81 · 19/10/2024 08:59

Selfridges is back in stock at the moment.

OvaHere · 19/10/2024 09:22

Talking of goodie/mystery bags has anyone here ever ordered one of the Beautylish lucky bags (actually boxes!) that get released each year on Dec 26th?

It's an American site but they do ship internationally. Apparently they sell out quickly and seem very popular.

Obsessedwithsourdough · 19/10/2024 09:26

I had a look at the Boots site but could see no mention of the Summer edit as a free gift. I don't understand.

I think the offer was only on yesterday

Oh I've not tried yet! I'm out this am but will put a dummy order through later to "test"

ACAC2023 · 19/10/2024 10:06

Placemarking. Can’t believe we’re already at Thread 5 😁

Thelifeofawife · 19/10/2024 11:08

@MrsBnow12 the festival edit sold out quickly!
I will keep my eye on their site though, it’s one I often forget about

MrsBnow12 · 19/10/2024 11:17

@Thelifeofawife It is worth following them on Instagram if you use it as they often provide early access to boxes and they are due to launch a Christmas Box later this month/early next month…or at least they have alluded to one x

@Caramelandsalt I had Liberty last year for the first time, and reviews were quite negative but I loved it. It’s a really beautiful calendar and it’s amazing how quickly the items pass the cost of the calendar. It’s a real treat and so Christmassy

It is definitely one of the pretties Christmas boxes out there every year

Thelifeofawife · 19/10/2024 11:44

@MrsBnow12 thank you, I’ll take a look x

pinkchampagne1 · 19/10/2024 11:47

Selfridges is back in stock. I watched an unboxing of it last night and it didn’t wow me, although the box itself is nice.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 19/10/2024 11:54

@LoveLabradors
I've just tried and have a message saying not applicable to item ... bet it's because is an advent calendar. Which is annoying as Ts and Cs on BL app don't state this Sad

LightandBreezy · 19/10/2024 12:16

@diamondsandrose If you peri oral derm is still present I'd avoid anything active like Good Genes or CEO for a bit - I had the same, triggered by a sunscreen and it made my skin react to everything for a while - had just use a barrier repair cream only until it had fully cleared.

LadyLapsang · 19/10/2024 14:45

In case anyone is interested, T K Maxx has got a Nails Inc 12 days of nails advent calendar reduced from £180 to £29.99.

Thanks yes I'm the same .. I can use actives sparingly , when I see it's getting triggered I retreat to plain creams 😩 so boring

I think that Look Fantastic has sold out - my prediction was correct! 🔮

Absolutely gutted! My daughter wanted this one as a Christmas gift and I'm too late!

How old is she?

The Sephora advent calendar is still available. It's more expensive at £199 but it's a good one that young girls/women would appreciate. It will go quickly now that others are selling out.

If that's too expensive Boots 24 Days of Beauty is good for the price and has brands young people would like. It's £99 but there's a code for £10 off at the moment.

I've been looking for an advent calendar for my elderly mother, something to maybe spark a little joy or fun each morning. I've just seen in the last thread there's a Bonne Maman calendar so that's definitely a contender....any other recommendations please for folks in their late 70s?
Thanks

My mum loves the Bonne Maman one!

She has had a beauty one back when I was flush and got her the ASOS one and enjoyed it v much too.

So if your mum likes beauty and skin care she'd enjoy one, but the jam is a really good option for a jam-lover!

VirginiaCreepers · 19/10/2024 18:49

@Cantdecidewhere - a but more expensive at £99 - but is the Fornum and Mason tea and biscuits one an option?

TragicMuse · 19/10/2024 18:54

I'm sad to have missed the LF One. I had it in my basket...

The pretty pink Glossybox AC is still available

OvaHere · 19/10/2024 23:19

I'd like to walk back a bit my negative first impression of the Augustinus Bader Rich Cream from the last thread. As I don't like waste I've kept using it but more like a serum or under layer to my night time moisturiser.

It's not as hydrating as I would like for my dry cold weather skin but I've been applying it about an hour before I put a final night cream on and my skin has been looking nicer on a morning I think.

Not sure if I'll repurchase (Vinted rather than store because £75 for 15ml is a lot). It depends on how long 15ml lasts for - I'm guessing at maybe 2-3 weeks using it once per day which would make the £20-30 Vinted price still quite a pricey investment.
