Yeh @RandomAnonName I've sold empty AC boxes before. The Liberty ones are very popular - have made £15-£20 on the fancy house one.

Other brands less so - usually get about £5 plus postage.

I agree re selling on unwanted items btw but also yes only high-value ones. So the AB cream is fine for me - I don't like it, but can sell it for £25 on eBay. For cheaper items it's just not worth it once a buyer has had to pay £3 postage.

Couple of items from ACs that I have discovered lately - a face mask and a vitamin D treatment, both by Zelens, I really really loved them both, The Vit D made my skin so so soft!

I've had the foaming face wash from Zelens before and absolutely loved it. Got it in a Liberty washbag. It retails at around £50 so can't justify buying it again but I'd love to try more Zelens products.

After those tiny Nuxe oils gathering dust I have finally started using one on my hair. It's decent. The shimmery one has not worked in my hair however so I'll have to use it as a body oil despite preferring massage bars / body lotions. I did wonder who genuinely likes them though. Like the PK elasticisers, they're my last to be used.

The shimmery is definitely better on skin and the idea from @buffyspikefaith about adding it to cream is great, I can't believe that never occurred to me. I also use the oils on my cuticles and nails etc, but my hair and skin is dry and thin so it loves oil. I can imagine if you have lovely dewy skin and fine hair it would be too much!

IIRC we have had previous threads after advent where people have swapped items - it's interesting how one person's "gathering dust at the back of the cupboard" is another's holy grail! Would anyone be up for a swaps thread?

I'm on the app so can't link annoyingly but did anyone see on thr BBC news earlier there was an article about a scam Space NK website?

Ooh I'm sure this was on TK Max too for £20, I think

For the Elemis deal don’t forget new customers get £5 off code plus 12% on TopCashback. I set up a new account to maximise it as I wanted a couple of sets to last me. I got vanilla orchid and lime & ginger. I had the frangipani last year

If you already have an account can you delete and do a new one and be a new customer? Won’t the system recognise the address , name or email ?

It's not the gestapo! I've had different accounts/ emails before on QVC no one cares

OvaHere · 04/11/2024 13:06

I signed up on QVC with a new email after not shopping on there for a few years. Couldn't remember my password and the reset email didn't send despite trying multiple times so I just rejoined with a new account.

Yeah I think it was a reasonable question, there are other sites that will reject new customer discounts if it's the same bank account etc...

QVC Elemis deal is live now for those who were interested

I'm so disappointed they've gone to the 30ml pro-collagen marine cream instead of the normal 50ml. So disappointed. And increased the price this year to boot.

Now not sure I'll buy the sets since that was always the primary reason I bought them!

Doubleraspberry · 04/11/2024 13:28

I had a look at my stash and the only thing running low is the marine cream so I’m not going for the set.

Could do . Having a look at TSV and not grabbing me . Why do they always put in the apricot toner ! It feels like a filler .

MrsBnow12 · 04/11/2024 13:39

The Lookfantastic mask box ‘Merry Mask Edit’is now live for anyone looking for stocking fillers/ Christmas Eve box. It contains 12 different masks.
I used the link from YouTuber Miss Boux and got it for £27.65 with free delivery.

OvaHere · 04/11/2024 13:40

Do they usually do a duo of the shower milk and body lotion as an offer running up to xmas? I'd probably buy that.

virgocatlover · 04/11/2024 13:41

@ThePeopleBowedAndPrayedToTheNeonGodTheyMade I saw the ads on social media for the fake Space NK website claiming to sell the advent calendar for a ridiculously low price. I reported it but they wouldn't take the ads down.

Has anyone bought the Rituals AC or had it before? Am umming and ahhing over a purchase this year over the usual JL calendar

I've had it before, it's nice but imo not great value for the price you pay and the amount of product you get. Maybe try the shops in outlet centres as they often sell last year's calendars for a discount.

OP posts:
IlovePond · 04/11/2024 13:55

@DarlingCoffee - I agree that if you can get to Bicester Village or a McArthur Glen you may pick up a previous year’s Rituals calendar much cheaper. I was at both recently and they had the 2022 tree version for £60 and the 2023 village one, (very lovely), for £125 at Bicester and under £85 at York McArthur Glen.

It would be best to call first, rather than making a special visit in case they are oos.

Re: Value - if you can get one reduced, they are great. However, most of the sizes are quite small, (although the higher price points do have some pricier items and the calendars are lovely and reusable - I kept my village for a couple of years and used it as a decoration.)

If you like Rituals - I do - then you might not mind it being all one brand. However, it is also nice to be able to try a variety of things.

OvaHere · 04/11/2024 14:00

My Rituals calendar doesn't count as a self present because it contains household things and shower type products I'm willing to share across the household. So that makes it not self indulgent.

This is my logic and I'm sticking to it. 😂
