I never buy anything other than to use it or fill gift it on so the absolute value doesn’t matter as much to me. £150 is a lot but I’m not looking to make anything from it when I spend it if you see what I mean. I can see why people who are wouldn’t go for a mystery box.

I keep looking at this from Selfridges, has anyone got it?

www.selfridges.com/GB/en/product/selfridges-2024-xmas-ultimate-b_R04389048/

That's very tempting!

Growlybear83 · 02/11/2024 11:52

For people who are still concerned about Bridal Beauty box, someone posted a photo on this thread of what they received in their festival edit a couple of weeks ago, and the amount of stuff they got was amazing. I bought a festival edit too and the value was way over what was advertised. It might be reassuring to look back at the photo.

HollyGolightly4 · 02/11/2024 11:57

Thank you @Growlybear83 I'm now scared 🤣

diamondsandrose · 02/11/2024 11:58

I don't usually try and make money either but I think if you couldn't get a refund/weren't happy it would be a way of recouping some costs so that it didn't bug you !

I am also tempted by that Selfridges box.....

Doubleraspberry · 02/11/2024 12:01

I’d just give it to DD to be honest if it wasn’t for me. Your experience with things being actually unusable though worries me. You accept a risk with a mystery box that some things wouldn’t be what you chose (and some people do that with advent calendars too) but you do want to think that what you get will be good quality.

MrsBnow12 · 02/11/2024 12:04

@Growlybear83 I think that may have been me..this was my festival bag for £30.

DD would be beside herself with that box. And I’d be pinching whatever is in the Penhaligons box!

Sunnydaysarehereonceagain · 02/11/2024 12:28

I’ve decided that I’m going to let my BBC order be fulfilled as I really want to know what’s in the box and if I try to cancel now I could be depriving myself of something great. Ultimate FOMO, I know 🤣. I’ll happily post the contents once it arrives. I’ve been trying to remember the contents of the box I had before. Full sized Absolute Collagen shampoo and conditioner plus a neck cream from the same company. A full sized Elemis clay cleanser. Penhaligon’s travel sized candle. A Fenty lip product. Can’t remember what else, but I do remember thinking that it was good value. Fingers crossed for the new one

diamondsandrose · 02/11/2024 12:31

Living life on the edge 😜😜

Doubleraspberry · 02/11/2024 12:31

Crazy times.

diamondsandrose · 02/11/2024 12:33

That box has a lot of stuff in it to be fair. After my last experience though i have lost faith in them. Still not happy about the reviews, I may email them ( again ) about that .

I'm hoping for another Hannah Martin discount to make up for that red lipliner 😂

Doubleraspberry · 02/11/2024 12:34

I’ll let fate decide for me.

Growlybear83 · 02/11/2024 12:55

@MrsBnow12 Yes, yours was the photo I was thinking of. My bag was really good but I was very jealous of your Penhaligons set!

Branster · 02/11/2024 13:07

@MrsBnow12 that's a very good box. Not that I'm jealous 😂
I refused to order because I was determined to wait for this Christmas box, then it sold out and I regretted it, and I missed when it came back in stock.
I ordered 2 last year and I liked them.
Now that I'm a bit paranoid about potentially supporting some charlatans, or is this some sort of cult, after earlier comments, I'm thinking if they have a real regular public event, would it not be a genuine setup? I've never been because I'd feel a bit weird amongst all those brides to be and it's not an event aimed at the likes of me.

Caramelandsalt · 02/11/2024 14:20

I've been mooching about on the Liberty beauty drop thread and read great things about the Liberty scent kit , so one is now winging it's way to me . I'm hoping to find myself a new lovely fragrance either in one of my advents , 12 days of fragrance or Liberty scent kit .

alwaysfretting · 02/11/2024 14:21

diamondsandrose · 02/11/2024 10:50

And yes my final moan on BBC is that I felt as if there was a bit of as MAFS would say "toxic positivity" on this thread regarding the box ... seemed a bit iffy.. think other posters have a good point not to trust everything you read on here !

If a company are willing to use my name to write fake reviews I'd say they are not above doing a bit of mumsnet marketing ... ( am thinking ..how can I prove it as they'll just say it's someone else with the same name as me but I've literally never seen my name elsewhere so would be an unbelievable coincidence)

I would just like to say I am really me and I do like latest in beauty!

Fairyliz · 02/11/2024 14:43

MrsBnow12 · 02/11/2024 07:44

Not being an enabler but it is a great way to get fabulous branded items at a fraction of the price and stock up for the next year. I am hoping not to buy anything now until next advent season.
I also look at it as if you can afford it and brings you joy then life is too short x

When you say stock up for next year do you mean 2027? I think I am about there; need to cut back!

diamondsandrose · 02/11/2024 17:29

@alwaysfretting very pleased to meet you , I am really me too 😆😆

I genuinely think there were some BBC marketers on here earlier and after my bad experience with them I was determined to stamp out any dodgy ness as this thread is a safe space for us hoarders .. genuine posters only!

Idid laugh at the cult comment @Branster , i thought the same abiut the "festival". Maybe we couod make a day of it 😜 Sadly i am edging ever closer to mother of the bride territory than the bride !

IlovePond · 02/11/2024 17:36

Speaking of the BBB - the website page is a bit wonky for the Festival edit - under the picture it says £250. In the blurb underneath it says £150 worth of stuff for £30. Then if you add to basket it’s £250.

Presumably I am doing something wrong and/or the offer has ended and/or page glitchy.

It’s not that I wanted it - exactly- but I was impressed by the one I saw earlier

mum2three48 · 02/11/2024 17:37

@diamondsandrose I remember last year on the Christmas thread there was someone who was constantly trying to push BBC and were called out on it a few times. I've never bought anything from them for that reason as I don't trust that they are genuine

Cyclingmummy1 · 02/11/2024 17:50

Selfridgres box looks good.

MrsBnow12 · 02/11/2024 17:52

@IlovePond I believe the festival edit sold out a while ago so assume the site is glitchy.

I was also tempted with the festival but also thought I was the wrong age demographic, it would more be vow renewals than actual wedding for me( we don’t have children so will never be mother of the bride) ….maybe we can make a trip of it together next year

QueefofSheena · 02/11/2024 17:54

I bought a BB box earlier in the year, it came with some Charlotte Tilbury perfume samples. There was a fair bit of SPF in it which is what made it particularly good for me. It was around £30 though, so not a huge risk. I posted a pic on a thread but can’t remember which one 😬 Definitely not a marketer!

IlovePond · 02/11/2024 17:57

@MrsBnow12 😹😹😹

I only went on the site to see what it was like - no way would I pay £250! (I couldn’t face paying that for SpaceNK, (and I really wanted that!)
