I've been mooching about on the Liberty beauty drop thread and read great things about the Liberty scent kit , so one is now winging it's way to me . I'm hoping to find myself a new lovely fragrance either in one of my advents , 12 days of fragrance or Liberty scent kit .

It's lovely, you won't be disappointed. Some really good stuff from liberty recently. Fast becoming my #1 supplier over Space NK!

I can’t remember who was thinking about the Ok with Hannah Martin - an unboxing went up on YouTube today.

Yes it was good. I think it's a good calendar for those with daughters wanting to bridge the gap between tweeny and anti ageing

Fedupandstressed · 02/11/2024 19:13

I got my scent edit from,Liberty today. Super fast and only cot me £28 with disc and beauty credit.

There are some real scents of beauty in there and I've stashed them all in my Harrods box from last year. Got this ones to open soon as well. I'm going to open one every other day.

Current using my Jo loves lemon leaves and rose. Soo light, summery and fresh. DH gave it to me for our wedding anniversary last week. I have sooooo much fragrance that I'll have to will it to daughters in law when I pop my clogs.

@diamondsandrose I remember last year on the Christmas thread there was someone who was constantly trying to push BBC and were called out on it a few times. I've never bought anything from them for that reason as I don't trust that they are genuine

Ohhhh interesting! I am not a fan of people trying to scam us hoarders 😡we are vulnerable and easily led when it comes to beauty recommendations!

Growlybear83 · 02/11/2024 19:27

I would never have described myself as being even interested in beauty products, apart from perfume, for most of my adult life, but these threads have seriously led me astray over the last three years 😆😆. I think I am now a hoarder, and have really found it very hard to resist temptation for the last couple of months. 😳

I think it’s a massive shame if people end up feeling duped into buying things. I am unhappy now about my purchase and it’s left a bad taste about this company. They are small and I’m sure trying their hardest to get up and running, but this isn’t the way.

MrsBnow12 · 02/11/2024 19:42

I was still stuck in the 80’s with both my makeup and perfume..Estée Lauder ones for the last 30 years!
Late last year I joined Liberty beauty drop and it has transformed my whole beauty routine. The final piece of the puzzle was to go get a makeup lesson in September. I am still experimenting with brands so am loving advent season and had never heard of Hourglass before this thread and now love my ambient palette and brushes…I dread to think how much I have spent the last few months.

Monpetitchoumonpetitepois · 02/11/2024 19:56

I got the sainsburys advent calendar, 2 left in store so I had to get it. I'm not sure it's amazing but it will all get used by someone

I looked today but they were all gone

virgocatlover · 02/11/2024 20:19

I'm a bit lost with the BB stuff. Are people suspecting the company has been on this thread trying to sell the products?

OP posts:
Addictedtobeauty · 02/11/2024 20:35

I think that’s the suggestion but I’m not really on board with it. I understand a certain level of scepticism- that old adage of if it seems too good to be true…

Of course, there’s a strong probability that they will have stooges on threads like these (good marketing) but it’s not like we need much encouragement and I haven’t noticed any username I’m suspicious of overly shilling the products. I’m not a stooge btw, just an ordinary beauty addict.

My own experiences of BB have shown they provide great value for the money paid and like all beauty boxes, you take a chance if you buy a mystery box.

I think that’s the crux- some of their edits are expensive and it’s a big gamble and too much risk for a lot of people. Until this year, too much risk for me too. But their cheaper bags have been great so I’m taking the risk this once and will report back when mine arrives (not a VIP bag so no device).

Addictedtobeauty · 02/11/2024 20:43

Ps, if there are any BBC plants reading today, I ordered last night/early hours - before the official release- make my Christmas edit spectacular please 😬.

I'm not sure which stores have them or if they will restock. It does add to bag on the website, so they must have stock but i didn't trust adding it to my delivery because the store that does my deliveries isn't actually stocking them

Branster · 02/11/2024 21:20

I'm sure Current Body invent all their reviews, so a good dose of scepticism is needed with most online shopping.
The Branster household debit cards are very well acquainted with Current Body and I can't fault them over the years. I ignore their reviews. But the very first purchase from that website was quite scary for me and it took me forever to decide on placing my first order.
I think Space NK have genuine reviews.
Boots reviews are really weird so they probably invent a lot.
You can't trust anything anymore.
One of my clients was very keen to start publishing some sort of reviews on his company's website and I told him not to do it. You'd be stupid to put negative reviews in the interest of being honest and choosing only the positive reviews it's very dishonest. He only sells to other companies, and no way a prospective commercial client would bother with some reviews. Pointless.
Also, who has the time to write all these reviews, unless they get incentives? Once AI truly kicks in, it will become even a bigger problem.
I really hope there's no manipulation going on.
Style & Beauty and Cats threads are the safest, kindest, funniest and non-competitive places on MN.
But all I want right now is to have my long awaited box. Not interested who gets my money, I just want the stuff, lots of it, of good quality and I want the surprise factor.

bizzey · 02/11/2024 22:03

Wow ...has a message earlier to say my Space NK lip cracker will arrive on Tuesday !!

I only ordered this morning 😮!

Twinsandsome · 02/11/2024 22:12

I just seen on the Christmas thread a poster share their £30 festive BB box and I have to say I’m very very impressed I would have loved it but I would never have the actual nerve myself to order a mystery box.

I seen someone up the thread talking about the space nk GWP they got as I had looked at it when first released and then forgot about it because of the big spend needed, but today I went in store to get the lip hero’s cracker and ended up spending a small fortune while in there and got the gift and I have to say I’m actually really happy with it. My skin has been so dry because of a heater near my desk and verythibg has been irritating it recently but there’s the blue cancoon balm in it which I put on this evening and it’s the first thing to give my skin relief though I could
never ever afford to buy the full size! Anyways I have asked DH to put it all into an old calendar and I’ll enjoynit
as my second calendar this year as that has to be me done! Also when I was there I tried the glossier perfumes I’m really funny with perfume I literally have used 2 as past few years and very sparingly as I get headaches from strong smells but I’m in love with 2 of the glossier perfumes and might need to try and track them down on vinted or eBay it’s the first time I’ve loved a perfume in years x

OvaHere · 02/11/2024 22:40

@Twinsandsome I bought the new Glossier perfume (purple one) at a really good discount with a voucher code and cash back. Still waiting for it to arrive. Nice to know they smell good because I bought it blind.

Sephora have still got 15% off them at the moment making them £52 for 50ml

Thelifeofawife · 02/11/2024 23:36

I thought I best checkout my JL basket before the beauty cracker goes out of stock. I dithered earlier due to the postage cost. Somehow the beauty box fell into my basket as well, so free postage now - girl math at its best!

MrsBnow12 · 03/11/2024 06:41

@Thelifeofawife TheSpace NK Lip cracker showing back in stock in case you were still looking.

Sunnydaysarehereonceagain · 03/11/2024 07:47

@Branster your last paragraph sums up exactly how I feel, I want my box and for it to be packed full with good quality stuff. I love the surprise element and then googling the products to find out rrp / work out total value etc.. I know, very sad, but it’s something I really enjoy and does no one else any harm 😊

MrsBnow12 · 03/11/2024 07:55

@Sunnydaysarehereonceagain That is me to a T with mystery boxes and possibly why I love them. I regularly talk myself out of things due to over analysing things and with mystery boxes I can only start the analysing once it arrives.

Puravida23 · 03/11/2024 08:12

@MrsBnow12 thanks for letting us know. I just grabbed another one for my son's girlfriend as these are amazing for presents
