That's good @IlovePond They hadn't displayed the contents when I bought one from the Rituals outlet earlier this year so I just assumed it was the same!

I’d never have known about this company given its title, but just had a nosey .
all those beauty boxes are pretty much non bridal if that makes sense. Just look like good value .

I’m tempted bit trying to decide what to go for !

I’m presuming the mystery boxes are better value than the ones you know what is in them as it’s taking a chance .

Why do companies do mystery boxes ?

I’m curious in people’s thoughts on what’s in it. I bought two year ago but didn’t last year as seemed too similar to the past year . I can’t remember the contents now though !

I love a beauty advent and have had lots of the big hitters over the years. This year I’ve been preoccupied with caring for my mum and haven’t kept an eye on them. But now I want one to cheer me up.

Are there any decent deals on for calendars at the moment. Contemplating SpaceNK, cult Beauty or Selfridges.

Please help a frazzled beauty lover!

It's worth the price if people will use the products. For me I have far too many things already after being spoilt by the more expensive ACs so I wouldn't get my money's worth. An AC newbie with a limited pre existing stash would probably enjoy it

I thought M&S was really good last year @MoiraRoseForever and have repurchased quite a few of the products having tried them. I did think harder about buying again this year due to the price hike but it's not horrendous in comparison to some of the others.

Having looked around, I really don't think any of the calendars are good value this year but that might just be me?! I love having a calendar though and would have been really sad not to have one this year!

Space NK and CB are sold out; I think Selfridges may still be available. Liberty is still on sale as well and I think it is good (not bought as wanted to spend less).

no deals tho as they seem to be selling well (or maybe feer have been made?)

I have caved and bought M&S - got a stash of Christmas underwear for the DC which I would have bought anyway; as I say, I think I will open it early and use as gifts for friends and the odd December birthday. I think the lack of skincare means that some of the products are a decent size (ie full size body cream or hair care which is cheaper than tiny skin serum) and thus gift better.

I'm seeing it through the lens of whether it generally delivers value for money. I've broken it out into categories of how each product will be used and found that most of it is stuff I would need to buy at some point anyway e.g. face cream, mascara, etc even if it isn't my preferred brand.

Knowing how ill use each item, which comes in at less than £2 each, I feel much less guilty and quite excited. I also don't get regular beauty boxes so while i have a lot of advent (up to 3 now 😄) it's a once a year purchase

Not much talk of Sephora on here but contents look good. I don't think they have helped themselves by expecting people to pre order and wait up to 6 weeks for it to be sent. Quite a few people don't actually wait til advent to start using the products, myself included.

I've got mine on pre order but was annoyed at shelling out £200 and having to wait 6 weeks

I think the M&S & L Occitane offer really good value
I'll probably go for M&S as lots I'll use.

SpaceNK and CB are definitely sold out. Selfridges I think has been in an out of stock so a chance you can still get that one.

John Lewis has also been in and out of stock - it did come back yesterday but not sure if gone again.

Harvey Nicks still available.

Liberty still in stock but I had an email this morning implying it was close to gone (could just be marketing though).

Sephora as of yesterday was still available.

M&S launched yesterday.

Others I think are still available - Rituals, Glossybox, Fortum & Mason, Vogue.

I think the john lewis new stock must just be returns they are putting back on. Got my DH to get me one for my birthday, but a bit concerned it won't be perfect if it's a return that someone has gone through the drawers etc

Bit on the fence about M&S. There are things that I was planning to order from there anyway, but not sure whether or not I want to spend an extra £50 on the Calendar 🤔

I really like the This Works cream - and that's a good 200ml size. Would happily use the colour Wow as I always need stuff for coloured hair. Most of the other stuff I would use, but don't particularly need. Also several of the full sizes are duds for me (nail polish, eyeliner, Living Proof, foot spray) so not sure.

It usually sells out online in a few days but generally still loads in stores.

Tons of M & S in store this morning. Big poster showing contents but no actual products on display. Nice bag.

To me, the M&S bag looks the same as last year. I remember it being really floppy and having no structure once you took the products out, which made it pretty useless.

loooool at me being so late they’ve already sold out! I thought SpaceNK looked great!

I’ve never had Liberty and it does have good genes, which I would buy. I usually find the Liberty products not brands I just after!

Even if you were paying attention you may not have got a SpaceNK one. There's been a big fuck up with orders and deliveries this year with a number of people ordering early but not getting their calendar.

@MoiraRoseForever I have no idea about mystery boxes and bags but imagine a lot of it is due to companies looking to promote their products.
I had not heard of them before and think someone on the Liberty thread mentioned them.
my festival bag arrived today and again I am delighted with it…very good value for £30…I know it was a risk but it has paid off for me this time.

I've enjoyed reading these threads, although my budget is way below most of you! I have treated myself and my mum to the M&S advent calendar every year for the past number of years now. This year when I found out what was in it, I wasn't fussed, especially since it's gone up in price again! I was impressed with the contents of the Holland & Barrett one so I've bought two of them instead and I'm looking forward to us opening them.

I got teen DD the Rituals calendar a good few weeks back, I'm signed up with them and received a pre-release email with a discount code so decided to just get it and not think of the cost! She adores Rituals so I know she'll love this and isn't expecting it at all.

Re. the Aldi dupes, I find them brilliant but it's so annoying that they are only once a year and they sell out very quickly. I got the DE peptide moisturiser dupe recently and it's really good but it's sold out now and I know I won't get it again until next year! Also, in my store they display all the beauty 'specials' at the till because they said they were being stolen. But this means you can't really get to look at things - we all know how quickly the till staff work!!

THat was my thought. £2 per day to enjoy through November ... saving my JL calendar for December.

Pretty sure CB and SpaceNK are long sold out, and Selfridges is in and out of stock. LF also sold out quickly
