I know its expensive, I know its "must have", I know she is a great designer... but I am not sure I like my new bag

DH bought it for me as a present

What do you think?

Is it me, or does it look a bit, well, tacky?

expatinscotland · 22/04/2008 20:10

i have some small bags given to me by my sister and mother that i can't bring myself to get rid off.

but they gather dust in a wardrobe.

i just don't do small bags.

SIL's always got this miniscule bag. but of course, she's 29, has two kids, wears a size 6 and look fab even with her hair in a ponytail .

BlinkingNoraWotzThat · 22/04/2008 20:13

i'm going to make a tote bag
i can put everything in it - it will be hiuge

fruittea · 22/04/2008 20:23

It's lovely

see here for another admirer

Roseylea · 22/04/2008 20:31

If you look at this it looks pretty cool. I agree - don't take it back! (I could tell a few tales...)

MistressMean · 22/04/2008 20:34

I don't personally like.

It looks like something a member of the WRVS would carry, to me.

Novicecamper · 22/04/2008 23:20

Ah see I was already to say it was minging when opening this thread, but I quite like it!

treelover · 22/04/2008 23:25

artichokes, if you dont like it , can i have it please?
it is completley and utterly gorgeous. i have been on the look out for the perfect bag, and i think you have found it. [droool]

unfortunatley i cant afford that sort of price tag.

ladymariner · 22/04/2008 23:33

I think it's gorgeous and it was so lovely of your dh to go and buy you something that he thought you would really like. Have to say, i think the price is extortionate but hey, you didn't pay for it so enjoy

solo · 22/04/2008 23:33

Artichokes? SOLOCHOKES too!!!!!!!!!!!
I like it except for the silver bottom.

Lovesdogsandcats · 23/04/2008 13:13

Its horrid.

It's made of baby cow skin.

AitchTwoOhelicopterfraek · 23/04/2008 13:24
AitchTwoOhelicopterfraek · 23/04/2008 13:26

that's mirrored baby cow skin, you judgemental hippy.

artichokes · 23/04/2008 13:27

It smells of lovely, new baby cow skin too...

OP posts:
Lovesdogsandcats · 23/04/2008 17:54

judgemental hippy, me??

Oh good god, walking round with a bag that not only looks like a WRVS bid-bag (wasn't me who said it ), and is made of a dead baby (yes I am against leather and don't eat meat) BUT you could have a holiday for the same price. And if you went to the countryside on that holiday, you could smell real cow smells. Not dead ones.

oranges · 23/04/2008 17:58

I like it. Keep it till the summer - it's hard to see how it will work when its so dreary, but will look great in spring/summer clothes.

AitchTwoOhelicopterfraek · 23/04/2008 18:17

oh so fucking what? her HUSBAND bought it for her, presumably he reckons they can still afford to go on holiday as well. The way that MNers are so jealous and chiselly about other people's good fortune is so TIRESOME.

I think it's cool. And it makes me feel much better about the $435 Coach bag I just bought in the states. That's some £220... bargain!

(oh, it was mostly a gift so I didn't really spend much at all)

It replaced a worn out bag which DH gave me. He is sulling about about me having replaced HIS bag. But it was worn out and five years old and it simply had to go.

LyraSilvertongue · 23/04/2008 18:27

I like it but it's not the kind of bag I'd carry. And I'd never pay £675 for a bag either.

mosschops30 · 23/04/2008 18:28

I dont like it, I think it looks like an old ladies bag sorry!

There are much nicer bags from balenciaga and mulberry (for and extra few hundred )

And I disagree that Anya Hindmarch is a great designer. Doesnt do it for me sorry

LyraSilvertongue · 23/04/2008 18:28

I've only read the OP but I'm guessing there's been a lot of jealousy and 'how dare you flaunt your expensive bag while I'm struggling to feed my kids' on this thread.

MoreSpamThanGlam · 23/04/2008 18:29

PMSL @Cod

muppetgirl · 23/04/2008 18:30

It's a very 'Joan Collins' type of bag...
I am thinking big padded shoulders and very backcombed hair at the mo.

MoreSpamThanGlam · 23/04/2008 18:30

If I could afford it I would buy it - feckin gorgeous

NappiesGalore · 23/04/2008 18:37

ooh i dont like the cream. they grey's nice, the caramel nice too.
bit bloody steep tho... id want a police cordon to keep everyone 'aWAY form the fucking BAG people!'
id cry if one of my dc touched it with a chocolatey hand.
think id rather have 10 £65 bags instead. [fickle]
