New thread. Woke (blooming cat) to find it’s nearly full.

Will do @Stoic123

I will also be looking for those blocks in the winter sale…

Poplinskirt · 03/10/2024 18:52

I've ordered another pair of the full length Annie's, they are perfect autumn trousers.

I have also ordered the loop back jersey trousers in slate plus the loop back jersey top.
I've not been well and the midnight set from a couple of years ago has been perfect for mooching around but smart enough to pop out in so ordered the slate.
Paired with my latest pair of Toast honeycomb socks for toasty feet.
I ordered the navy/ mustard pair as they really are lovely and I needed cheering up 🤒
@Fitzlea Did you find some joggers?

FitzLea · 03/10/2024 20:44

@Poplinskirt not yet, I can’t seem to make up my mind. I’m considering these though, as they look really comfy and I like the wide leg. I did, however, get the Toast jersey top you mentioned (though mine is the shell colour). I wasn’t sure about the trousers though, as reviews for them are not great - would you mind letting us know on here how you find the fit? Hope you feel better soon.

NoCureForLove · 03/10/2024 21:38

I have two pairs of those Fitzlea and love them. They're proper heavy jersey, not thin and flimsy like the Toast ones and have a proper waistband too. Size down unless you want them very oversized...

AmethystMoonShine · 04/10/2024 06:15

My final sale parcel arrived yesterday. Three vests; I’m keeping the black one with the white buttons which I think will be useful. Just as well really as my puppy grabbed it from the parcel and dragged it around the house before I even tried it on! I was resigning myself (as I raced after him) to having to keep something I might not even be able to wear if his teeth had torn it 😣
The orange linen vest was too bright for me, I need a more muted shade and the blue one also not quite right. I didn’t even try those on.
Then the crinkle olive Freya dress also arrived and is as lovely as the brick/ black one I bought in Oxford a few weeks ago. They will be worn a lot right through to spring.

Countmeout · 04/10/2024 08:27

My single sale purchase arrived this week the cotton poplin stripe dress, similar to the Stella in style although the tie is slightly different in that it doesn’t run right round the dress. It’s a great sleeveless summer dress and I am keeping- don’t need a dress but will review what I have next summer and decide if I want to part with any then.

Thankfully nothing in the mini drop is attracting me.

Oh those look good but no to the length, not long enough for me sadly @FitzLea

I like the lighter weight of the Toast ones as I already have some lovely soft heavy organic cotton ones, full length from a while ago so the Toast ones are late summer / autumn, when its a bit cooler but not cold.
I must check where they were from, they are like new and so soft.
Amazing how tricky lounge wear can be.
For me it's the length every time !

IlovePond · 04/10/2024 09:42

😹@AmethystMoonShine - my evil pup is constantly trying to get his teeth into my sheepskin slippers!

Re: The top. I almost ordered it myself. Would you say it’s tts? How long is it? Thanks.

FitzLea · 04/10/2024 12:32

Ah that’s good to know @NoCureForLove, will give them a go then, and want to try the top that goes with it too.

I do remember you’re quite a bit taller than I am @Poplinskirt, so most BN trousers probably wouldn’t do for you. Let us know the brand of your other jersey bits if you can - who knew finding nice, hard wearing jersey loungewear would be so tricky to find!

AbstractThought · 04/10/2024 13:37

Thanks for replying to my question a few weeks ago about the crotchrise on Gabi cords.
I did purchase some and the waist came up to my bra!
I loved everything else about them though so had them altered.

The elastic waist was removed and they became mid rise. Taping was placed along the edge and a zipper put on the side - absolute perfection!

If only more stores could offer us reasonably medium crotch lengths, I have no idea how it's caught on but presume it is so they get less returns??? It is good to feel comfier in my Gabi's now as there isn't a huge elastic pillow stuck around my ribs Grin

AmethystMoonShine · 04/10/2024 14:25

@IlovePond my slippers are another pup casualty. I love the felt slippers Toast used to do and had a few pairs in reserve. I got my final pair out about a month ago and he chewed a hole in the end, so now I have open toed felt slippers - not a good look and chilly toes too! He adores sheepskin, I can imagine he'd destroy those too...I have to keep my sheepskin hot water bottle cover away from him.

The black vest with the white buttons isn't particularly long, it sits just below my waist which I like and I'd say true to size. I have a M and am a 12-14 top, 34 D boobs and it fits nicely. One of those items that I think I'll wear a lot as it'll be versatile in that it will go with lots.

IlovePond · 04/10/2024 14:29

Thanks for the feedback @AmethystMoonShine - if it reappears, I might order it!

Netcam · 04/10/2024 22:17

Here are the Gabi trousers. The 8 fit me well, the waist is comfortable, they are quite loose fitting but wouldn't fall down or anything. And the length is just right for me at 5'3.

There's space to wear merino leggings and a merino long sleeved top tucked in and still wear a jumper over the top, which is how I tend to dress when it gets cold. But they'd be nice to wear on their own when it's warmer.

The fabric is lovely and I like the rose madder colour, which wasn't even the one I really wanted. The wax green haven't arrived yet.

Only thing is, if I like these I'll probably love the wax green, so do I keep both?

They look really nice @Netcam !

faustina · 05/10/2024 06:26

They look great @Netcam which is a good thing considering how much faff it took to get them! If you love the green too, then I'd keep them both, so long as you have a space in your wardrobe

I think you're right, I don't want to send these ones back, so I'll keep them. It's hard to find good trousers. I'll find the space somewhere, then I need to stop buying clothes!

Anyway the short sleeved cotton linen shirts are going back. They didn't fit me well, too much width at waist height that stuck out massively at the back. Even the 8 felt too big, apart from in the boobs. And the fabric was thicker than I'd like from a short sleeved top since I'd only wear it when it's hot.

Countmeout · 05/10/2024 08:32

Those look great @Netcam and such a lovely colour too.

applecatchers36 · 05/10/2024 09:16

They suit you Netcam look like a great Autumn colour too ...agree if you like the green keep both. I wear my Gabis the most of the trousers as they are comfy but smart.

Snowyowl78 · 05/10/2024 09:35

@Netcam which shirts were these? Gabis look great!

I can't quite remember what they're called, but I took a couple of photos. I really don't suit something boxy that goes really wide like this at waist length.

This is exciting — after a decade or so in the wilderness, I have several dozen items in my Wishlist! Across all departments too, Donegal knitwear, silk birds print collection, boots and slippers, homeware, gifts, even some trousers (which seem to be returning to normal proportions).

I can't actually afford to buy any of it, but still, bizarrely happy to have daydreaming restored!

IlovePond · 05/10/2024 10:00

I like that green shirt @Netcam
@Stravaig - yes, lots I want atm, but mustn’t buy!

Will be chasing up my refunds today as my stuff got back to Toast on Thursday. Bitter experience has shown that if refunds don’t come promptly, then Toast need a nudge!

It looks OK from the front but not from the side and the fabric is a bit thick for summer. And it kind of hangs off my boobs and flares outwards. There are nicer shirts out there in the world and it was still £60 in the sale. It's going back!

Netcam · 05/10/2024 10:53

@Stravaig, the silk birds collection looks lovely. Only thing is, I wouldn't buy something silk that I couldn't at least hand wash.
