New thread. Woke (blooming cat) to find it’s nearly full.

@AubrieDog - I think the winter sale started last year as soon as the last posting date for Xmas had gone.

Thank you so much. I know I bought a Drift charcoal dress but I couldn't remember when. I'm still holding out for the olive Freya...

Stoic123 · 30/09/2024 17:03

Sole sale purchase arrived (scoop neck linen dress) - it's flattering and will be easy to just throw on so I'm keeping.

ScottishMouse · 30/09/2024 17:19

My jersey vest in two sizes arrived. Both going back. Imm between sizes and neither look good. Shame as it’s a very nice top.
Sales total - £27 on a basket. Unheard of!

RockaLock · 30/09/2024 18:02

Well. DS2 was discharged today Smile and I arrived home to my sale purchase.

It's a keeper - the leaf embroidered dress. It's really nice, beautiful embroidery and fabric, and a nice shape and fit. It's a bit darker than I was expecting, but that's no bad thing seeing as I am very pale myself!

Stoic123 · 30/09/2024 18:22

@ScottishMouse - hope you are feeling virtuous. I am!

IlovePond · 30/09/2024 18:26

Glad your DS is recovering @RockaLock

Is that the lovely striped/embroidered dress reduced to about £175? It’s so nice

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 30/09/2024 18:37

My final sale order has been despatched, I’m quite surprised as I expected it to be cancelled.
I've kept both my clothing sale purchases so far, hoping the roll edge tee will be a keeper as well.
I was disappointed in the homeware in the sale, I may order that lovely charcoal colander to make up for my disappointment.

RockaLock · 30/09/2024 19:06

Yes @IlovePond, thank you, and that's the one.

It's not like I really need another summer dress, especially if our home summers are going to be like this one(!) but it was so beautiful I couldn't resist it.

Maybe I just won't buy a new dress next summer (yeah, right Grin)

mizu · 30/09/2024 19:18

@PeonyBlush10 oh I looked at that coat on Saturday, but didn't try on. It is so lovely, isn't it?

Good news @RockaLock - going home to a new dress and taking your DS with you!

Did anyone else order the hemp cotton tees? Mine both arrived looking like someone let their cat sew them - really shocking - one shoulder seam higher than the other and each of them with the back of the neck not properly joined together so it was all frayed and mismatched. I've never seen anything so crap before!

Netcam · 30/09/2024 20:39

faustina · 30/09/2024 09:44

@Netcam - it is a very frustrating thing. I think I was waiting for a jacket in the last sale that one of the other people on this thread had returned. They will send it out to you even if the sale has ended so long as you know what the code is. I just checked and it was delivered back to them on Saturday so hopefully they will process my return today - will let you know when I hear - and find the code for you. In the meantime hope they despatch your rose madder gabis soon!

Thanks a lot. Still no news of despatch.

IlovePond · 01/10/2024 07:29

@faustina - that’s shocking, (although I now have some funny mental images of tabbies with needle and thread!)

Having mentioned some quality issues myself at the recent event, it was suggested to me that Toast welcome feedback so they can take appropriate action to improve. It therefore might be worth taking a picture and send a complaint to Toast CS.

I am about to open my second and final order, (arrived yesterday), but am not terribly hopeful.

AmethystMoonShine · 01/10/2024 09:37

Great news about your son @RockaLock :)

I've got the Sturlini boots @TheDeepLemonHelper , I got them in black and am lusting after the tan colour after seeing them in store a few weeks ago. They are expensive, for sure. They are pretty much true to size I'd say. The leather is lovely and the sole robust, definitely well made. Still expensive though. I can imagine my Mum taking one look and saying they're just like the boots in various high street stores that can be bought for less than £100 - which depending on you're perspective might well be true. I still don't regret them though :) I think if you appreciate nice well made boots and the style is for you, you'll like them :)

Still also waiting for final sale order to dispatch - losing hope I have to say. I got a dispatch email this morning for a full price dress I ordered (the olive crinkle) which I ordered about two days after the final sale order.

Sale items received so far were the linen short jumpsuit in both colours and both going back, not special enough and not a great cut from the waist down on me. Shame as both lovely colours.
Also the khaki linen shorts - keepers, these really suit me and I already have in navy, brown and copper and they get worn a lot in summer.
The v neck cream tee went back as thin material highlighted by the seam down the front. Not worth the money for me.
Then also the rolled edge long sleeve top in the bright green. The green is more muted in ear life and I just felt the fabric was stiff and scratchy, so it's going back. I wanted it as a slouchy and comfy lounging top and it doesn't fit that bill.

I've also kept the two jute baskets - love them. One already housing my autumn and winter socks.

Waiting less hopefully by the day for three vests - orange, blue and the black with buttons.......

AmethystMoonShine · 01/10/2024 09:38

*real life...not ear life :)

OrangeyLemon · 01/10/2024 11:16

Socks in a basket- what a great idea @AmethystMoonShine! I love the tempting sock basket in the Toast shop but it hadn't occurred to me to do this at home. So glad to hear your son has been discharged @RockaLock and I love the dress you've bought. I'd have been tempted if I ever got the slightest colour on my arms.

OrangeyLemon · 01/10/2024 11:18

Oh yes- my dark denim kick flares have arrived. When I held them up in front of me I wasn't hopeful, but when I put them on I liked them a lot. They aren't tight on the waist as I feared, although I did size up because of the new sizing and reviews. The flare doesn't look so exaggerated like it does on the photos of the models- the effect is more wide-leg I think.

OrangeyLemon · 01/10/2024 11:22

Oh dear, me again! Just to say that I bought some of the Sturlini shoes, and the quality is beautiful. My mother would have wondered why I haven't grown out of 'policeman's shoes' as called them, and shuddered at the style, but would have applauded the quality. Her mantra was expensive shoes, tights, bras and handbags!

JJkate · 01/10/2024 11:26

Hi all, I have sent back most of my sale order; (I'm a size 8-10 most places, 28" waist, 5,4) cotton linen canvas leg trousers in oil cloth in s and m, both massive. Panelled cotton twill trousers in oil cloth and dusky pink in 8, again massive, buttoned cotton linen canvas dress in s also massive and probably would drown me even in a smaller size. Scoop neck linen jersey vest in blue and orange xs, almost kept but the orange didn't sit right (puckered and clingy) and the blue didn't seem special enough even at half price. Kept Bronwyn stripe cotton trousers in m and cotton fisherman trousers in mango 8, both beautiful. Tried them when they came out and couldn't justify the expense but this is just about affordable.

IlovePond · 01/10/2024 12:06

Hi,

I am keeping the crinkle dress in Puck, (I already have the orange version). Am hoping it doesn’t shrink as it’s very close-fitting on the bust, but it’s a keeper as DH said how nice it looked on, (and he is usually indifferent to what I wear).

The rolled neck long sleeved top in blue is just horrid - stiff and badly fitting. I sized up and it still doesn’t fit properly anywhere! The Alda top in breen M was ok but too big on shoulders/armpits and did nothing for me- both gone back today.

faustina · 01/10/2024 12:31

@IlovePond - I did indeed take pictures and send them to Toast so hopefully they won't be putting them back into the next sale.

That’s pretty shoddy sewing @faustina . Do please let us know what Toast say.

Netcam · 01/10/2024 13:51

Well, my Madder Rose Gabis and Sage short sleeved cotton linen shirt from the sale have finally been despatched.

IlovePond · 01/10/2024 15:42

Please report back on the colour of those Gabis @Netcam - I almost ordered them - thanks!

mizu · 01/10/2024 16:37

@OrangeyLemon interesting about the kick flare as I was put off by the fit.
