I think there was one a few months/weeks back but can't find it, so apologies if doubling up.
What perfume are you wearing today?
I will wear Atelier Cologne Trefle Pur in hope it will actually be warm today.

I've asked my husband for Inis, the Irish perfume for Christmas. I smelt it a while back and it was so clean and fresh, like salty beach air.

Memo Marfa today for me. I tried this last year and like it but not feeling the love this time. A few of the fragrances I was in love with last year are no longer doing it for me - does anyone else find their tastes change over time?

Oh yes - I used to love several of the Ormonde Jayne perfumes (especially Ormonde Woman and Frangipani) but I've been wearing them again recently and I find I've gone off them. I'm not sure if they are too distinctively linked to a different time in my life, or if my taste has genuinely changed with more recent perfumes.

MiaN · 24/11/2024 10:50

yes, good few. I think I am going for Gris Charnel again.

IDontHateRainbows · 24/11/2024 10:50

I have expanded my perfume repertoire significantly this year, mainly via samples/ kits. I don't hate any of my old favorites, I'm just not in love as I once was. I couldn't stop spritzing MM by the fireplace, malin + goetz dark rum and floral street ylang espresso last year. All wintery scents so it's not that. I think I'm just fickle, this is why 10ml sprays work better for me than full bottles.

IDontHateRainbows · 24/11/2024 10:52

I've mixed the memo marfa with vyrao mamajuju quite randomly and as a combo it works.... sweet with a bit of warmth. Think I need to give mojave ghost a break to avoid nose blindness. Besides I've 4 days in the office next week so weekend is the time to experiment.

I may be going near harvey Nick's later... tempted to get a good spritz of the MG absolu if it's around though.

QueefofSheena · 24/11/2024 12:29

I’m using up samples and minis before I start properly on the AC perfumes. At the moment it’s Ghost, wearable but not exciting

hughiedoesntfight · 24/11/2024 13:47

The Kayali Boujie marshmallow arrived so wearing that.

my daughter was home this weekend and took the layering samples set as well.

I have to say I am impressed. I only tried a couple from the set. An apple and a cherry one. And they were both lovely.

The marshmallow one is really fruity and creamy at first and has dried down into a really nice, slightly sweet creamy vanilla. With a bit of musk. I think the musk stops it from being too cloying. I am surprised I like it so much as I am not overly found of very sweet perfumes. Definitely going to wear this tomorrow and see what my close colleagues think. We always discuss, scent of the day.

Also going to get the set for myself.

Mary46 · 24/11/2024 14:35

Great replies. Some Zara ones are lovely. I love CK one really nice.

LightandBreezy · 24/11/2024 16:11

Hello 👋Can I join? I need some motivation to actually try all the lovely perfumes I've got rather than hoarding them and just staring at them lovingly! I organised them yesterday into summer and winter scents, and obviously enough, will be starting with the winter ones. I've worn LBTY Zepherine the last few days and I do like it, it's easy to wear as not too overpowering (Covid has changed my scent tolerance and things like Portrait of a Lady give me a bit of a headache now.) but I can't smell it on me at all after a few hours and it doesn't strike me as particularly unique or special. Am trying out Eau de la Nuit by Veronique Gabai today - was really enjoying it's subtlety but then foolishly got curious about what a perfume booster is supposed to do and sprayed Sana Jardin Sandalwood Temple on top. That was initially revolting but has become surprisingly pleasant after 5 minutes

Wheresthekitten · 24/11/2024 16:12

Can I ask where you get your 10ml bottles from please? Sounds like a great idea

Mainly scent edits/ boxes. Liberty are good for these also space nk and cult beauty.

I think Liberty have a good scent edit on st the minute.

Also advent calendars although the fragrance ones are all gone now.

IDontHateRainbows · 24/11/2024 16:24

Also some perfume houses do discovery sets with the 10ml or round about those sizes. personally I don't bother with the very small samples much as if I like the scent it will run out too soon.

Now is the ideal time to get sample sets.

Wheresthekitten · 24/11/2024 16:28

Thank you! Seems like a good idea to get an idea of what you like and also to carry in handbag

happytobemrsg · 24/11/2024 16:41

I’m pretty boring because I tend to stick to one perfume at a time. Currently it’s Jo Malone Poppy & Barley. I asked DH for a new perfume for Christmas and I enjoyed sampling them all again. I wanted something a bit deeper than Poppy & Barley which to me is more of a spring scent. Gone with Velvet Rose & Oud. Judging by reviews of it not lasting long I might have to invest in a travel atomiser. Open to any recommendations!!

IDontHateRainbows · 24/11/2024 17:22

Just tried Malin + Goetz strawberry, from a sample set. I fell in love with the dark rum last year, and like the brand for some of their other stuff. The strawberry edp is nice, but underwhelming. Not getting any urges to spray more of it. It would be a nice, inoffensive scent for the office - ultimately I'm finding it slightly boring.

I fear the dark rum will be a bit of a one hit wonder for me as I wasn't that keen on the leather or the cannabis. DH was very interested in the cannabis one, having partaken of the real thing in his youth, and proclaimed 'it doesn't smell anything like it!'

Some brands sell 10mls. But I buy atomisers from Amazon. I also buy dd them so she can steal some of my full bottles and take to uni

Millymollymine · 24/11/2024 22:16

Today’s perfume was the revenge of Lady Blanche Penhaligons. I don’t like it at first spray but as it settles down I can’t stop sniffing it 🙈. Disappointed that it only lasts a few hours before needing to be topped up.

This describes how I felt about most, if not all perfumes from Penhaligons advent. I would 100% buy this year's one if it gets to the outlets on good price as there was no waste from 2023 advent really enjoyed it for the discounted price totally worth it. I didn't like any in store as they need to be tested on skin and longevity is not great but on skin and with travel size to top up great perfumes

MiaN · 25/11/2024 04:17

Vs let's say Jo Malone advent, I end up wanting few full size but not rushing to get anther advent

@LightandBreezy I also feel covid changed my scence of smell, reducing it initially only to return with bang. I hope it will settle down little as it can be bothersome

MiaN · 25/11/2024 06:00

Kayali Burning Cherry today. My favourite cherry and favourite Kayali

IDontHateRainbows · 25/11/2024 08:00

Back on the Mumbai Noise today. Although it is an office day, with Byredo not being particularly long lasting it will probably have faded by the time I get to the office. love the warm spicy smell - there's nothing else quite like it .

AprilLady · 25/11/2024 10:04

I strongly suspect I have Covid. I decided I wanted a vanilla today, but not gourmand, so went for Serge Lutens Une Bois Vanille. Sprayed it on and smelt - absolutely nothing. Just to check I then sprayed something strong I wore a couple of days ago - also nothing. So no perfume for me until my sense of smell comes back - I really hope it is quick.

Stowickthevast · 25/11/2024 10:44

Oh no @AprilLady hope you feel better soon.

@LightandBreezy I gave up perfume for a bit as felt it was exacerbating my migraines. Seem to be ok at the moment but when I'm feeling migrainous, I give them all a swerve.

I'm wearing the Sandalwood Sana del Jardin today too. I thought it was going to be a bit over powering at first, but it dries down nicely.

Lurkingshark · 25/11/2024 11:09

I’m also back on Byredo. Black Saffron which seems to be a hit with DH and I. I also like Mumbai Noise.

@Stowickthevast that Sana one is lovely! The brand story is a bit 🤨 but they are on my sample list (2026 based on current progress!)
