I think there was one a few months/weeks back but can't find it, so apologies if doubling up.
What perfume are you wearing today?
I will wear Atelier Cologne Trefle Pur in hope it will actually be warm today.

Also just notice Penhaligon’s are giving away a 4x5ml miniatures/discovery set away if you spend over £120.

It has empressa, Luna, halfeti and Endymion in it.

Just ordered the saltsworks company discovery set. Excited to get that.

However, my delivery from Sephora hasn’t come today as I expected I was looking forward to getting the new Kayali. I am hoping it comes in the morning rather than Friday when I am at work

That price seems to have gone up a lot on the Kayali

I remember getting the vanilla lovers set as a gift which is a hand cream and 50ml, I know my dad would have said "how much?!" if it was as expensive as it is now

I am not sure to be honest.

I get 10% off Kayali at Sephora. My dd loves it so I keep it on my ‘brands I love’ list.

and last time I ordered it I had 2x £5 off so it was quite cheap. I used another 2 x £5 off voucher for this order. So it was £23 for about £17 for the 10ml. But tbh I will probably have a quick sniff then give it to dd. I don’t think it’s going to be for me.

Someone on another thread said cult beauty have it on offer today. Sephora did have it on offer and I just checked and it’s not anymore.

The byredo mojave ghost oil arrived. I was worried I was being ripped off as it's 7.5ml for £65, around £55 with the BF discount but the box itself is a work of art, I felt like I was unwrapping a piece of expensive jewelery..... I'm not usually an oil/ rollerball fan but this may convert me as it's a lovely rich oil with a very tight opening so only a tiny bit comes out, just as well given the size.
The smell is divine, let's see if it lasts.
Also got the hand cream which is tiny for the price and can barely smell the famous mojave scent so I may not keep that.

ooh exciting. I had heard from reviews on reddit that the absolu is slightly sweeter. I'm not a massive fan of sweet scents usually. Be interesting to hear how the absolu dries down and if it really does last longer.

Meanwhile I am excitedly waiting my DPD delivery from Harvey Nicks and to try the Mojave Ghost oil. I'm not usually a fan of rollerballs/oils but have heard it does last longer. sadly, HN cancelled the GWP as they had run out which I'm not massively happy about - they were keen enough to keep it on the website and in my basket yesterday when I was ordering .... hmmmmmm. luckily it wasn't a fantastic one so I can probably just about live without it.

The absolut is definitely longer lasting than the other but I wouldn’t say significantly so. You can get the individual parts a bit more ( e.g I def smell the violet and the musk now) . But it quite light and I had to hunt on my arm for the smell from lunch time.

my conclusion: probably not worth it for the absolut! I recommend putting an oil moisturiser before though- seems to hold other byredos better.

Well, this is my new technique for the OG Mojave - use the rollerball oil on my pulse points/back of hand and then spritz some edp over. I'm strangely glad you are saying it's not that much stronger as otherwise I'd be tempted to buy it. as it is, I'm keeping the rollerball and have some edp from a big size sample and I can't really afford any more so hopefully that's just as well. The 12ml sprays are going for around £30 on ebay so I can just top up with one of those if I run out.

In other news my vyrao mamajuju samples arrived, now that is a lovely scent but I think slightly overpowering to wear in an office and probably one I'd get quickly fed up of as it's quite... busy. Again the wallet will be relieved as full bottles are in the region of £165.

MiaN · 22/11/2024 17:18

thanks so much for the review, that's great to know!

Lurkingshark · 22/11/2024 17:29

No worries! I’m going to take a byredo break and crack open the liberty scent kit.

I think someone asked upthread for recommendations from liberty? It’s a nice place to poke around in person but I think villeheim (?sp) are/ were exclusive to them in the UK and I think many of their scents are lovely. Gorgeous bottles and also ruinously expensive.

Most of the other brands you can get cheaper elsewhere but I see this year, they have included some in the sales (le labo, etc). I’m also a beauty drop person and flip between fragrance and fabrics.

IDontHateRainbows · 22/11/2024 18:03

Vyrao is another liberty one. I'm.not so keen on witchy woo but mamajuju and Magnetic 70 are good.

hughiedoesntfight · 23/11/2024 06:03

Thanks @Lurkingshark i love the look of villeheim I might see if I can get some samples.

I am struggling between spending my vouchers or saving them up. I have found a few perfumes to add to my wish list non of which liberty sell. Which is frustrating. I don’t want to just spend them for the sake of spending them. I did intended to use them to get the advent calendar. Both me and my adult dd are in the beauty drop and neither fancied the calandar this year.

@IDontHateRainbows i have been considering the Vyrao discovery set. It’s pricey for a discovery set but the sizes are bigger than usual.

I was meant to be in London on Tuesday for a work lunch but have had to cancel it. I was going to nip into liberty and smell some. See if I fell in love with one. But the lunch has been moved to January 🥲

MiaN · 23/11/2024 06:32

Witchy Woo is very spooky - I didn't like it initially but I keep sniffing. I have travel from one of the advents, I wouldn't buy it myself but happy to have it - it's very interesting. I will enjoy it.

I changed my mind yesterday and I went with Gris Charnel - I really love this for the season. I wish it's little longer lasting, I have been using it and enjoying it a lot. I can smell it hours later but I wish it remains stronger. It could be weather related, in such cold weat

Tell me I am not the only one who at lest once a seasons finds time to organise ... my fragrantica perfume shelves. :)

I found the larger discovery set not bad value, the smaller ones are pricey yes think it's called high 5 and 5 x decent 7.5ml samples for usually £79 but liberty often do 10 or 15% off so got it for £63 or something.

I'm actually intending to but some more storage today as my collection has grown! Usually I go for 10ml bottles and I have loads of them so they need a new home. Home accessories shop nearby has storage boxes.

MiaN · 23/11/2024 07:27

Cult beauty have good offer on this too with AFFCYBER giving 20% I think

IDontHateRainbows · 23/11/2024 07:30

Rare beauty find Comfort today for me.

MiaN · 23/11/2024 07:40

I reorganize my actual perfumes often. I am sorting out my virtual stash on fragrantica this morning

I tend to keep a lot of the doors form advent calendars to organise some of my beauty products in various locations such as my bedtime locker, desk or my ikea alex Drawer. I plan to keep the space nk fragrance advent box to store some things too. It fits perfectly on wardrobe shelf. On another shelf I keep my seasonal fragrances on top of lined up perfume boxes of various sizes.

I have this for some of my travel sizes and it's great.

and this for samples but honestly it doesn't feel pretty. It's great idea and it helps organise samples but it doesn't feel right to me for beauty storage

hughiedoesntfight · 23/11/2024 08:13

I use the Sniff App as opposed to fragrant but I go through them once a week or so.

To be honest. I need to chill out with it. I am constantly adding to my ‘want’ and ‘try’ lists.

I got a few samples from Jovoy. And 3 made it onto my wish list. 2 winter perfumes and one for summer. And I have decided I want a full size of commodity milk + . I have a 10ml so I might wait till next autumn.

On the plus side 2 were not for me. One of which I really didn’t like. Another was ok but dd liked it so she has taken it.

but I have that many samples at the moment I am not actually wearing any of the full size ones I have. Which feels like a waste.

I am going update my spread sheet this weekend.

MiaN · 23/11/2024 08:15

@Lurkingshark
I still have two or 3 samples that need to try from last December. It's huge set, you need breaks.

Lurkingshark · 23/11/2024 10:53

yes @MiaN I was trying to make a decision on the voucher pre December but it’s too much.

SOTD. Rain cloud. From Perfumer H. Very quick tip note but it’s lovely! Shame about the ££££

Mackemlass79 · 23/11/2024 11:44

Morning ladies, oud rose oil for me today from oud attar dirt time trying it smells gorgeous but no idea on the staying power yet I shall let u all know

IDontHateRainbows · 23/11/2024 16:19

Finding the mojave ghost oil very weak in terms of smell/ longevity but maybe it's the anosmia/ nose blindness again. Have managed to get the rollerball to release a bit more oil by fiddling around with the seal on the side but not made much odds... maybe I'm just not sensitive enough in the nose department to be a good byredo customer?

Good news is I've sold about half the samples from the scent libe to recoup some of the outlay

hughiedoesntfight · 23/11/2024 19:22

Bianco latte today. Was quite disappointed. Smelled nice. But faded and disappeared very quickly.

I hugged dp about an hour after I put it on. And he couldn’t even smell it. Neither could dd.

Howmanyroses · 23/11/2024 21:28

I am going to join if that's ok! Just run out of my signature Chanel no 5 and on the lookout for a new signature, but so far no luck. I think I would really like Chanel Coromandel but £££ so I have to be really sure it's the one. I like some of the Byredo's but they don't seem to last on me. Got some samples to try over the next few weeks to figure out what I might and might not like and have been lurking on this thread to get some recommendations :) Will report back.

Today I am wearing Mizensir Ambre Magique. Something in it I just find really offensive and harsh, maybe it's ambregris, don't think this one is for me.
