I think there was one a few months/weeks back but can't find it, so apologies if doubling up.
What perfume are you wearing today?
I will wear Atelier Cologne Trefle Pur in hope it will actually be warm today.

Interesting my email back from byredo with tips on how to layer was very 'copy paste' so I think they must get complaints/ comments about longevity a lot and have a standard response?
Maybe it's all part of a massive plot to get people hooked on the fragrances they sell the smaller sizes of, and then make them want to buy the absolu/ longer lasting ones which I've heard they have more in the pipeline?

If I'm an addict they are definitely the pushers!

MiaN · 21/11/2024 17:29

you are a savvy woman, you will figure it out @IDontHateRainbows @spikeandbuffy great collection, I can't read many of the names but we have few matching!

MiaN · 21/11/2024 17:35

spikeandbuffy · 21/11/2024 16:51

Post work shower so swapping to something else... decisions!
This is some of my collection but I have a lot of 10ml and samples

share some thoughts on your Clean perfumes and on Sun please! I have Clean Reserve Skin and love it but would love to hear more for the rest of the range

spikeandbuffy · 21/11/2024 17:39

I'm not sure about Sun, it's an odd comparison but it reminds me of Shalimar in the powder bit and my mum wore Shalimar!
Some days I really like it but I prefer a more typical "sun" scent like beach walk

It was £8 though!

Clean - I love reserve skin, it smells like me
The others aren't the reserve ones but I find them in TK maxx sometimes
Summer sailing - similar to replica sailing day
Shower fresh - too green for me and discontinued I think
Warm cotton - as it says on the tin!
I also have summer day I think it's called

MiaN · 21/11/2024 17:55

Orange Bitters Jo Malone for dance class tonight.

Lurkingshark · 21/11/2024 18:38

MiaN · 21/11/2024 16:36

Yes please, full test. One on your left wrist, the other on the right - longevity, similarity and drydown report please!

Righto. I will do.

@IDontHateRainbows unless I really love it I’m very happy to gift or swap the sample so you can have a full test.

I am currently avoiding all BF deals apart from nice body oils. It’s pretty hard!

Ah, thanks . I have a plethora of samples to swap, including many byredo from the scent libe.

IDontHateRainbows · 21/11/2024 19:19

Just sprayed a bit of fugazzi workaholic and wow that's the other end of the spectrum to byredo. Pungent, strong scent that is just too much, I can see that they've put coffee in hence the name but wow they've just overpowered it with a load of other strong stuff to the extent I need to wash it off. I've heard fugazzi can be quite strong. Can see now why Byredo have gone the subtle route although I think they've overplayed it.

Also in the pack was( keeping) lbty zepherine, lbty adelphi sun, granada Jardin real, hermetica vertacloud, vyrao free 00, and veronique gabai noire de mai. Not heard of the last one but resale value is low so may as well keep it
A few others I'll try to sell on, including the fugazzi.

MiaN · 22/11/2024 06:08

We had fuggazi sample set and the full value goes against purchased but we hated every single one of them. 3 of us in the house, for example penhaligons advent every single item found loving owner. Fuggazi every single one we thought who the hell thought this will be good sent to put in bottle and sell to people. I wish we kept the set for the laugh.

If you love them please do not mind me. Fragance is personal.

Penhaligons Babylon today

hughiedoesntfight · 22/11/2024 06:23

Has anyone ever tried Atlier des ors? Specifically Luna feline, blue Madeline or noir by night.

or if anyone has any recommendations that liberty sell, I would love to here them. I have a load of beauty drop credit to use.

Mackemlass79 · 22/11/2024 07:32

I have found my people. Permission to join if I may ladkes, I'm not sure this is exactly the right place as I live perfume and have endless amounts however a lot are your typical commercial scents from the usual well known brands so my scent of the day a lot of the time will be very different to those I've seen mentioned in this thread. I have recently discovered perfume parlour and have a shed load of their 3ml oils from some of the perfume houses spoken of here which I'm slowly working my way through current favourite being creed wind flowers and several of the kilian ones. Anyway that was a very long rambling way to say hello amd may in join in

MiaN · 22/11/2024 07:37

welcome - it is the right place! We don't limit to specific perfume types - if you are feeling chatty about smelly stuff, you are at the right spot

hughiedoesntfight · 22/11/2024 07:53

@Mackemlass79 the more different the better.

I am always on the hunt for new ones to try. Especially from little known brands.

Mackemlass79 · 22/11/2024 07:54

Thank you so much i am more than open to suggestions od scents ti try too and looking to expect my tastes and delve further into the world of perfume. I really don't like vanilla scents at least not the sweet sickly butter cream style vanilla although actually very much like girl of now which is very vanilla based so maybe my tastes are changing. I'm finding at the moment I'm very much wearing a lot of rose based scents with atomic rode being a particular favourite along with my old faithful cheapy Paul Smith rose

IDontHateRainbows · 22/11/2024 07:58

I got the mumbai noise out after a week in storage and I can smell it again, it feels much stronger so clearly I had a severe case of nose blindness. I was going to sell it now, but may keep it on the proviso that I only wear it occasionally.

Tried the veronique gabai noire de mai as the 'wildcard' from my ebay samples today, it's ok nothing special but the vial comes in a lovely gold leather case which has impressed me more than the perfume, will be my new scent case for my handbag.

Deathraystare · 22/11/2024 08:01

Hypnotic Poison today. Love the almondy smell!

Stowickthevast · 22/11/2024 08:12

Hi @Mackemlass79 I really like the Paul Smith Rose for a very pure rose. I haven't used mine for years though, it's probably gone off by now!

I've been mainly wearing Santal 33 lately, it seems perfect for the cold.

Stowickthevast · 22/11/2024 08:13

I also love the Tauer LADDM. I had a sample a couple of years ago that ran out so may have to replace it now that one remembered it.

AprilLady · 22/11/2024 08:24

SOTD is Le Labo The Matcha, from an advent calendar a couple of years ago. It’s a very unisex tea and fig scent, and a strong like but not a love.

Mackemlass79 · 22/11/2024 08:35

Fig and brown sugar for me today another one I love which has surprised me as it isn't my usual type of scent I often go for floral or fresh/clean scents mainly

nearly61 · 22/11/2024 09:13

Byredo Blanche for me today -someone reminded up thread reminded me I still had a tiny drop left in the bottle so I dug it out to use up but find I really like it again! Definitely a laundry scent but I like the powdery edge to it too. Seems to be lasting ok so far though I was far more generous with spraying than I normally would be -mainly to use it up so I could clear something from my samples drawer!

Lurkingshark · 22/11/2024 09:35

sotd

left- mojave ghost absolut
right - mojave ghost OG

Initial smell is very very similar but the absolut is slightly different. A bit deeper on the fruity note (internet tells me this should be nesberry which sounds made up!) and a touch stronger.

I’ll report back later.

spikeandbuffy · 22/11/2024 10:19

Le Monde gourmand - coco au lait

ooh exciting. I had heard from reviews on reddit that the absolu is slightly sweeter. I'm not a massive fan of sweet scents usually. Be interesting to hear how the absolu dries down and if it really does last longer.

Meanwhile I am excitedly waiting my DPD delivery from Harvey Nicks and to try the Mojave Ghost oil. I'm not usually a fan of rollerballs/oils but have heard it does last longer. sadly, HN cancelled the GWP as they had run out which I'm not massively happy about - they were keen enough to keep it on the website and in my basket yesterday when I was ordering .... hmmmmmm. luckily it wasn't a fantastic one so I can probably just about live without it.

hughiedoesntfight · 22/11/2024 14:56

Just ordered the saltsworks company discovery set. Excited to get that.

However, my delivery from Sephora hasn’t come today as I expected I was looking forward to getting the new Kayali. I am hoping it comes in the morning rather than Friday when I am at work
