I will wear Atelier Cologne Trefle Pur in hope it will actually be warm today.

It's very similar and if you want to enjoy the scent without committing to the price worth a try. Very well rated on fragrantica, and you can see the number of people saying it's similar

Athalia PDM for me today. You know what, if I tell myself no more perfumes unless I like them as much as Athalia It will kill most of my wants. I am loving this right now

I've just tried Ex Nihilo Hedonist and have found, so far, that I love it. I do like my scents to have a bit of 'body' and this seems like it will have staying power. It has a warm type of scent to it, which I also love, but some higher tones too that stop it being sickly. Anyway, a winner for me and sorry for the total lack of proper scent descriptors but it's kind of how it feels to me and I hope it describes it well enough for you too :)
Also, I just want to thank @MiaN and the other posters who actually really know their stuff- you have opened up a whole new world for me and I love reading your posts for the detailed info!

It's very like Byredo Bal D'Afrique - same perfumer. Initial spray it's even little stronger maybe tiny little less citrusy at the start.

I like it, my bredo bottle is big and chunky this is perfect for the handbag if I need top up. the body cream is on my wishlist for Cyber Monday.

Today's scent was one I idly spritzed in Selfridges: Ardent by Boadicea the Victorious
Kept sniffing my arm with the initial notes - it was not what I expected, and I smelt something that reminded me of swimming pools (?!) then aniseed... before it all softened down into an extremely wearable (safe) feminine vanilla rose. Decided I loved the weird top notes, but not enough to pay the BtV price.

Myth Ellis Brooklyn from last year's Space NK advent. Actually it's my second 10ml - this is great freshie for busy days.

Back on the Byredo Mumbai Noise today but I swear I'm getting nose blind to it. Is this a thing? I keep spraying the stuff and can smell it fir about 5 mins bit then it fades and I can't. Pretty sure it lasted longer when I discovered it. Have I made my nose insensitive through over use? Maybe I need a period of abstinence?

I’ve been trying to use up all my 2ml samples before I really start on my advent haul. Today I tried 71/72 by Floris then quickly realised it’s a man’s fragrance. It’s gone into DH’s stash, I’ll see what it smells like on him.

I have heard that if you spray in front/top of your body like shoulders and decolletage you can get nose blind to it, and places as writs/back of ears is better as you are only exposed to the scent once in awhile when moving. I have not found this to be the case for me, I can smell things for hours and often spray scarf/polo neck. How many sprays are you using? Are you spraying on clothes?

the other thing I have heard is that scents we love and suit us - we don't smell them after a while but others can still smell us. Smell that clash with our taste we feel are too strong and smell for long.

I have no idea if either of those are true!

Myth has really bad performance - once in the morning, lunch time and now there is barely any left. I like it but after the 10ml I won't be repurchasing

In that case I'm probably stinking out the whole house/tram/office/universe every day then. I do keep spraying the stuff especially around the house and on my pillow in the evening before I lie down as I just love the smell, I've never had a bottle go down so fast and it wasn't cheap. I think I need to go to some sort of perfume addict's rehab - or at least stop with the Mumbai Noise for a few weeks!

Gris Charnel BDK for me today. I am really loving it, I feel the 10ml won't last me long. I wonder if it's possible to find it with discount around black Friday?

I went on a spending spree this week.

I got CD Vanilla Diorama, Rouge Trafalgar, 10ml commodity milk+ (I am unsure if it will become sickly after a while so didn’t want the full bottle yet) and the Yognog Lush body spray.

I got a bottle of ODM Oriana for my Step mum.

I got a load of PDM and CD samples to try. I tried The CD New Look and honestly have no idea if I liked it. I didn’t at first but the dry down was interesting. But still no clue if I liked it, but I have enough to try again.

I had a lot of lush perfumes recommended to me but I have to say I found them underwhelming.

Today I am wearing Diorama and I absolutely love it

Maison margiela autumn vibes today, then I'm on a detox as staying the weekend with a friend who is quite sensitive to perfume, so I've not brought anything with me.

Hoping it will un-do the nose blindness!

How do you find Autumn vibes? I really didn’t like it but my daughter loved it and took my bottle. I think I am in the minority.

Has anyone had MFK gentle fluidity. If so, what is it like on longevity?

I do like the MM brand used to love by the fireplace but haven't been drawn to it more recently.

I got full bottle of by the fireplace. I wear it for few weeks then don’t touch it for months. I might have been better getting the candle as I just like to sniff it occasionally 😂

I did bit of a sniffing on some samples I have form one of the Space NK Edits - DS&Durga. I found Atlantic Rose great but sample already used up. Cowboy grass bit too grassy. I Don't Know What - I just don't get all the paper shavings scents like this, glossier you, commodity paper. Bowmaker, Debaser and Radio Bombay are very interesting, maybe too interesting for me. I would love to smell them on someone else or candle. I am still baffled for a perfume house with such big variety of interesting scents why did they push I don't know what so hard this year. It's in everything

I am not tempted to buy full bottle but I enjoy the sample set.

After a day or two off, I’m back to working my way through the byredo sampler. Black Saffron and Eyes Closed today, given they seem to last about 4/5 hrs. Black Saffron is my bag I think- up there with de los santos for me so far.

I poked into the Edinburgh Harvey Nicks this week. They were all very lovely in the large fragrance section, and relatively sample happy. A big (new?) PDM counter- it was very candy coloured &looked like it was targeting a different demographic to what I expected. Got me thinking about the branding of all these gorgeous smells.

@hughiedoesntfight I’m a fan of MFK Gentle Fluidity gold (the only MFK fragrance I really like). Longevity is pretty decent I think.

@MiaN I also really don’t get the I don’t know what type scents - no idea why it has been everywhere this year!

Went over the 10ml and 5ml Penhaligon's I have kept for myself form the advent. It's mixed gender advent in my opinion. From the feminine, or at least those that I thought are for me vs the guys there is great variety vanila, soft floral, citrus and fruity scent to work in different seasons as well as few clean & fresh scents and few types of rose. I really like good few but didn't really love any as much to want full size bottle. Babylon is my favourite for this time of the year and more unique to what I already have. My son and my husband also enjoyed it with my son particularly impressed by Halfeti. On the discounted 2023 outlet offer it has been great purchase and nearly all will be used unlike any other single brand advent I have owned. I put them now in their groups, for the season I think I will enjoy them more with two left for now.

We end up with 70ml for me, and 70ml perfume between the two guys. Gender in fragrance is ambiguous this days, somewhat outdated term and I kept few labeled for men for myself. The two soaps, one of the tiny candle and the ornament are the few duds but with 24 days, I don't mind few. Although I didn't end up being huge Penhaligon's fan after it, it has been one of most enjoyable advents I had. Who knows, my opinions changed on many of the fragrances in Space Nk 2023.

I wouldn't have known about the deal if it wasn't for the advenet tread!
