Am still religeously (sp?) testing elemis serum (ooh, a SERUM, must be good...), what's my deadline for posting? Apparently I should be giving it a month to see results, have done 5 days so far.....

I can confidently report that the Body Shop's eye gel (is a gel the same as a cream?) makes no noticeable difference whatsoever and in fact makes my eyes feel like a bit stingy. On the plus side it's only a fiver. Still too expensive.

Never found one that makes a blind bit of difference to my dark circles or crow's feet. And I've tried more than a few over the last 10 years.

Hassled · 09/04/2008 14:32

Days? It's been months. The pot is there next to the toothpaste and I slap some on each morning, just out of habit. It is RUBBISH.

nailpolish · 09/04/2008 14:33

i am deeply disappointed i got a body shop one tbh

i wanted one i wouldnt normally afford.

have only been using it a couple of days tho so am going to give it longer

hoxtonchick · 09/04/2008 14:33

am at work, will do proper review later.

nailpolish · 09/04/2008 14:33

does that make me a cosmetics snob i wonder

Oliveoil · 09/04/2008 14:33

I am using a Tesco's bnatural one atm

is ok I think

there was a Philosophy one mentioned in the times the other day and I want that instead

I will be that tester if any PR people are watching....

orangina · 09/04/2008 14:34

Feel pretty High Maintenance when I apply the serum from a dropper, under each eye.... have been applying am and pm, but haven't (yet) noticed difference. Love Elemis stuff though, am willing it to work or else I'll be v disappointed. Have been girly swot and asked dh to look at my baggy wrinkly eyes VERY CAREFULLY before I started using it, will report the FULL FINDINGS next week.....
(woohoo!)

lizandlulu · 09/04/2008 14:35

i have been using the tesco bharti one. to say it is a supermarket one it is really good for dark circles.
i have been using it for about 4 weeks, and noticed a big difference in the dark circles after 2 or 3 days. now i dont notice it as much. they have not gone completely, but are better then they used to be.
i think it was about £4 or £5.

i really want something to help with my crepy eye lids if anyone knows anything that works?

Pillow · 09/04/2008 14:36

I would love to see a great recommendation here. My bugbear is dark circles. Have tried loads, incl. strivectin, dr. brand, creme de la mer, benefit, oil of olay. Now i try and stick to gels. I read of one plastic surgeon doing a procedure on a lady who cut open under her eyes to find a big wodge of eyecream under there cos she lathered it on. Ugh ugh ugh. Anyway - nothing in the world has ever made any noticable difference to me. And Bliss' sleeping peel eye gel makes my eyes swell up.

Pillow · 09/04/2008 14:41

Ooh - have heard good stuff about the tesco bharti range generally and used to buy her stuff mail order. I will see if my local tesco's has some. Was dubious at first as I did believe the hype about the tesco's barbara daly facelift stuff, and wasn't impressed.

I've got a Neals Remedies one. I would never have bought it myself as most things I buy are full of chemicals, but am quite impressed. As it's organic I can put it really near my eyes and it doesn't make them water at all, as some creams do. It has only a very slight smell which surprised me. Most creams I've used smell like 'creams' IYKWIM but this smells only slightly soily, which reminds me it's organic and virtuous. It's consistency is a bit watery, would prefer it to be a bit firmer. Quite difficult to pat in and it leaves a slight sticky feel to the skin, not visually obvious, which I quite like in a wierd kind of way. Like the bottle, packaging and dispenser pump.

ArcticRoll · 09/04/2008 14:49

I used to use Clinique's All About Eyes-more of a gel than cream and liked the texture but don't think it made any visible improvements.
Am currently using Liz Earle's Daily Eye Repair-cheaper than Clinique and also contains SP10.
My mil gave me a pot of Elizabeth Arden's Intervene Eye but again liked texture but no clear results.
Think Botox is only answer.

fillybuster · 09/04/2008 14:55

I've been using the L'Oreal anti-wrinkle one with 'boswelax' (!) for the past few months every night. Seems to make bugger all difference to the lines and sagginess tho.

Also been using the garnier nutritionist one in the mornings and that does seem to help a little with my dark circles which are partic bad at the moment due to lairy 10 week old

Used the Burts Bees one cos I got it in a gift pack and it was totally crap - far too hard to be an eye cream, ended up using it on my elbows ...it was good as an elbox cream but a bit expensive....

Had a sample of the L'Occitane one recently and that was totally lush...tempted to buy it to give it a go but would love to know if anyone hss used it for more than 3 days?

cremolafoam · 09/04/2008 15:28

I received Sainsbury's Organic You Soothing Eye Cream.
It comes in a very tiny tube- so very portable in hbag.
I have been using it under my eyes and on my lids under makeup in the morning and last thing at night.

packaging - natural style with lavender highlights a bit old style bodyshop
still- no lavender in it but you might think o from the package

  • soothing and cool on application
  • no discernable smell- fresh maybe
-definite taughtening effect round eyes after application
  • definitely a soothing smoothing feeling
  • no discernable effect after a week on dark circles
  • in summary a gentle and cooling eye cream
I have very dry sensitive prone to flaking skin so the real test was that I am not allergic to it. 8/10
