'm using some of the avon eyelift cream atm. you have a cream for under the eye and a gel for the eye lid. have to say i'm pretty impressed.

eye's look alot smoother straight away and it lasts all day. it's about 12 quid.

In case it's not too late, thought I would add my £56 worth - NARS (why is it always in capitals?) Skin eye cream actually seems to work on dark circles - have tried using it, was impressed and then after the pot ran out thought that probably I didn't need to buy any more and it must just have been a fluke that dark circles improved (I must have been imagining I had had extra sleep I had miraculously forgotten about). Anyway, gave myself shock few weeks later when wondered who the old hag in the bathroom mirror was... and rushed out to chop all my hair off (over a foot went and now have very short crop) and buy eye cream. Eyes now look much better again. Pot running out - am actually considering spending another £56 as it's starting not to look like coincidence (and besides, could save cost of eye cream by growing hair long and never visiting hairdresser again). For dark circles would rate it 9 out of 10, but haven't really focussed on lines or puffiness (don't usually wear contact lenses in the morning so can't tell that much - just that vast area of dark around my eyes has reduced). Hope that helps!

Ok, the Elemis Serum that LargeGinandTonic also reviewed....
Loved the packaging, the weight of the bottle and the fab dropper system. Actual serum was a sort of loose gel consistency, went on nicely, and I've been using it for about 10 days now, morning and evening. Manufacturers say that you will notice results after a month.
My eyes aren't particularly puffy or baggy, not do I have massive dark circles. But I do have FINE LINES. And while I really really want to say that this stuff works wonders and I wouldn't hesitate in forking out another 20 odd quid on another bottle, I don't think I will, unless I get dramatic results in the next few weeks (will persevere).
DH did careful study of eyes before and after use, and declared that perhaps the skin under and around my eyes looked a bit smoother, but that there was no noticeable difference to the fine lines. (He was also keen to point out and wants it noted on the MN archive that he thinks I have lovely eyes, fine lines or not.... haha, the good opinion of all of you is obviously very important to him!)
I will just say that I have had a slightly hellish few weeks on the sleep front due to teething ds, so the fact that no actual DEGRADATION of the eye area has been noted in that time, might be down to the powerful botanical ingredients in the serum, who knows. Might be sporting giant puffy bags under eyes without it, who knows (not brave enough to go without and do control....)
So, in summary:
Appearance: 10/10
Smell: (no smell)
Consistency: 8/10
Effectiveness: 5/10 if sleeping well, let's give it the benefit of the doubt and say 7/10 considering it's been up against it a bit this week.....

Would I buy it again? Probably not. Am now quite keen to get my hands on a sample of the NARS product!

Right, concluding my review: the one I got sent is here

I am impressed re dark circles and moisturising, plumping, firming properties, but wrinkles as they were. I give it 8/10.

PuffCoddy · 15/04/2008 13:49

coem on you lot i am waiting for a SK II review...

FeverishFish · 15/04/2008 18:06

corny
is it the rose one oyu had

FeverishFish · 15/04/2008 18:07

was the avon one nicely scented?

cornsilk · 15/04/2008 18:20

YES ROSE FORMULA HYDRATING EYE CREAM

FeverishFish · 15/04/2008 18:20

gotcha!

BugBearisBugBear · 15/04/2008 22:14

Avon one was neither ming-scented nor nice-scented. It had a scent, but I didn't react to it.

Neither did anyone else in my family. And none of them can tell any difference vis a vis eye cream. Admittedly 2/3 of the remainder of the family are 3 or under. Dh says uh? eh? what's that dear? eyes? you look the same to me. Plus my mum said well, I never see you without make-up so I don't know what you look like normally. No one else knows about my secret eye cream test, is too embarassing.

cornsilk · 15/04/2008 22:37

lol at ming-scented eye cream!

BugBearisBugBear · 16/04/2008 09:00

had a sniff this morning, think it may be unscented. any aroma is very hard to detect.

geez, I'd better not be roped in to test perfumes had I?

cheeryface · 16/04/2008 16:06

so, so far , nobody has found anything that diminishes wrinkles/lines ?

damn

woodenchair · 16/04/2008 18:30

Cheeryface, The Avon renew eyelift cream is pretty good. My eyes have improved since using it.

Queen Oprah says that l'oreal revitalift is the best. I'm going to buy it next me thinks

BugBearisBugBear · 16/04/2008 18:35

Cod, I have just been sent some free Garnier Nutritionist Caffeine Eye Roll-On as a kind of prize for filling in a survey in the Sunday Times Style magazine beauty awards thingummy. Shall I swap to this new one and do a test? Or no time?

Are you feeling any better?

FeverishFish · 17/04/2008 09:41

ta but too late
are on to touch eclat type thigns now

hairyhandedSteve · 17/04/2008 09:46

Anyone reviewed Clinique All About Eyes Rich? I can say that is is pricey and made not a blind bit of difference to my fried egg eyes. Feels nice though.

wilchil64 · 20/04/2008 13:35

How do I sign up to be a tester for the next product? I think this is a great idea, as there are so many products out there for various price ranges and I'm sure a lot are no good, great way to stop us wasting money, hopefully. Please let me test something!

so which one's best? does one get rated as an overall 'star' product?

Avon one is pretty good, am impressed, and would def buy Avon again. Hadn't realized you could buy online nowadays, thought you had to wait for a lady to come round.
