Should I I keep this dress? Help me decide!

I bought this dress online from Me and Em about two weeks ago so I need to decide soon if I should keep it. I can't decide!!! I like it on me-the colours suit me and my chest area is awful (skinny, flat chested and uneven skin tone) so it's good this dress hides that area. But is it frumpy?
I really don't know any more. It's not for anywhere special, maybe wearing on holiday or out for dinner. Tell me straight if I should send it back please!

I've tried it on again and tried a tan belt. Hmmm.

Would need a red leather belt. The tan is too depressing with it.

It’s a nice dress. For myself, while on the one hand I’d happily spend multiple times that amount on something that brings joy, I have equally found £50 frocks at Zara that are just - wow! Or meet a need.

If you need an extra dress in your wardrobe and it suits your purposes, fine. It looks perfectly good on you.

Personally I might be tempted to send it back and see what happens with it in the sales. Not because I’m ‘scratching around for the cheapest thing’ but because quite often by the time something reaches the sales it seems less attractive than I originally thought it was.

Looks nice on you, but you can do better. If it had been £40, I’d have kept it.

Malbecmoron · 17/05/2024 19:35

I think it looks lovely on you OP

I like it, but if you're not sure you should send it back for that money!

I agree! It's ok but for £325!!!! You could buy 6/7 decent dresses or jackets and shoes for that money 😳

diddl · 17/05/2024 19:37

I agree that it looks lovely on.

With it's tie belt as well imo.

I think for the money though...

RogueFemale · 17/05/2024 19:38

I loathe everything about it - the fabric, the colour, the elbow length puff sleeves, the ghastly flounce.

GiantSportsDirectMug · 17/05/2024 19:39

Looks great!

pharmachameleon · 17/05/2024 19:39

Very good point @KomproMatilda good idea to wait for the sales. I'd be really happy with it if I paid £150 I think. I don't have a red belt and if I bought one it would make the outfit more expensive again! I'm going to send it back. Thanks all for your help!

It looks like a house coat for cleaning in that colour. Sorry op I really don't think it does anything for you.

I don't think it's worth it due to being mainly viscose

Shopgirl1 · 17/05/2024 19:57

I didn’t like it when you linked it, but actually think it’s really pretty on.

Tinyhattinycat · 17/05/2024 20:02

It's hideous

totalnamechanger · 17/05/2024 20:04

I now think it looks lovely on you, but… how much wear would you get?

If you love it, I would do as a pp suggested and get it in the sales. Me and Em have increased their prices so much in the past years and even a few years ago I would wait for the sale with them. I bought quite a few things at 50- 75% off, I haven’t bought from them for a while though.

GiantSportsDirectMug · 17/05/2024 20:35

Welcome6336 gets you money off.

WeDreamInPhosphoresence · 17/05/2024 20:37

I mean, it's nicer on you than on the model. But it's still really really underwhelming.

Deadringer · 17/05/2024 20:42

It's lovely on you but I am shocked at the price! With your figure you could wear absolutely anything, but if cost isn't a factor keep it.

CharlotteBog · 17/05/2024 20:43

It's lovely on you OP, but it's not WOW, not at that price.

Otherstories2002 · 17/05/2024 21:21

pharmachameleon · 17/05/2024 19:05

I've tried it on again and tried a tan belt. Hmmm.

I absolutely love it. I have lots of their dresses, all worn a lot etc.

But.

For that price it has to be a piece you love or it’s not worth the price tag. You’re paying for a piece that makes you feel magnificent.

Otherstories2002 · 17/05/2024 21:22

That’s not remotely similar. It’s cheap nasty poorly shaped tat.

snowlady4 · 17/05/2024 21:27

If you don't love it now, return it.
I've kept so many clothes I've been on the fence about, never wear them and then they go to charity shop or get sold on vinted for pennies! Waste of money!

LadyPoison · 17/05/2024 21:29

I like it much better on you than I did from the website photos.

I'm not sure I like it £350 much though

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 17/05/2024 21:33

I think it's gorgeous on you OP and the suggestion to wear a red belt with it is genius! That would really make it (and white shoes/sandals). You wouldn't have to spend a lot on a belt not everything has to be high-end you'd pick up a nice one cheap enough. I think the dress really flatters your shape and hair colour. I'd keep it!

HausofHolbein · 17/05/2024 22:31

Don't send it back!! I think it's lovely and really like it with the tan belt.
