I've just found a lovely pair of
Fit really well
None see through
Absolutely love them
Apparently they aren't in fashion tho which is making me question them
Are they that bad ?
I was thinking with sandals and a tee in summer
Just a basic outfit

Does anyone really give a shit about fashion? I’ve never really understood that whole thing… I mean who decides what is or isn’t in fashion?

As a short girl with a long body, short legs and penchant to be a little wide very rarely does any fashion trend suit me, as such I have always just worn what’s comfortable and makes me look okay! I just don’t have the time to worry about all the hype of different trends and I would rather spend my money on things I can comfortably wear time and again TBH.

So if they look great and you love them, wear them!

I think it’s shades of grey. No one wants to look dated, like you’re a corrie cafe owner, but not wearing things like skinnies and wearing things you don’t like to be fashionable is very extreme and in advisable.

SpamFritterSandwich · 15/04/2024 09:08

You look great. Go for it.

Imbusytodaysorry · 15/04/2024 09:39

I love white skinnies I haven’t a pair at moment . I do have light blue ones though and I roll
them up at bottom to wear with flats or wedges etc.

wear what you like

bingboo121 · 15/04/2024 09:45

I dont think anyone cares what you wear- not in a bad way.

whiteswan87 · 15/04/2024 10:59

I couldn't give a flying pig shit what's in fashion and what's not. If I like something I wear it and you should too.

JLou08 · 15/04/2024 10:59

The most stylish people I know wear what looks good on them rather than worry about what is 'in'.

Josette77 · 15/04/2024 11:05

I think they look too tight personally.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 15/04/2024 11:12

Well I think they look great OP and go really with the top in your pic.

Gettingonmygoat · 15/04/2024 11:27

Buy them.

Isitautumnyet23 · 15/04/2024 11:29

Wear whatever makes you feel good - I think they would look great with a nice Summer top/tan leather sandals. I would actually like some myself never bought any. If I was buying white jeans, I would buy ones that were not too stretchy/clingy and abit more of a straighter leg skinny jean (if that makes sense!).

smellslikecinnamon · 12/04/2024 12:49

Are they paint on skinny or a little gap around the ankle skinny. Former would look a little out of style right now. The latter would be fine.

I hate 'skinny' that look like more like leggings but skinny that are more like slim are x 1000 more flattering and i'll be wearing mine come summer!!!

LlynTegid · 15/04/2024 12:01

If they fit, get them. Fashion is temporary, what suits and feels good on you lasts a lot longer.

WouldURatherWinkieOrFinger · 15/04/2024 12:05

Might start commenting on the beauty/skincare threads with “omg who cares if you look beautiful or not? Why does it matter if that makeup suits you? Wear bright blue eyeshadow if you want! I don’t understand why people care if they have a few spots!” 🥴🥴🥴

Which wouldn't be unreasonable. Why shouldn't someone wear blue eyeshadow if they like it? The skincare threads are even more baffling than the clothing ones usually.

Iloveshihtzus · 15/04/2024 12:14

Why do people come on these threads and say who cares about fashion / style? I don’t go on football threads and say ‘who cares if your team lost’. This is style and beauty - if you are not interested in how you look, don’t post.

OP, I think the jeans are too tight - a straighter leg - ie a little less tight - would look way better and more timeless. I also think white jeans look better if they are ankle length, either rolled up or cropped.

Because sometimes they come up in Active and they're just too tempting

Umbongowasyuk · 15/04/2024 12:20

Geri Halliwell would wear them

SisterAgatha · 15/04/2024 12:24

I still wear them with mid calf dr martens. I also wear mom jeans in the same way but get loads more people compliment my outfit when I’m in the skinny ones.

Floisme · 15/04/2024 12:25

I assume the op does give a shit, otherwise she wouldn't have posted, so to focus on her question:

I don't think there's any single dominant jeans shape at the moment but, of them all, I'd say that ultra clingy style does look the most dated right now.

I also don't think it would be that hard to achieve a more current take on that look if you want to, e.g.
A more relaxed leg shape as other posters have already suggested.

Or, if you want to retain something of that clinginess, maybe some very fitted flares - the kind that are skin tight down to the knee.

Or a long, tight fitting denim skirt (with a vent or slit for ease of movement) - I've seen white ones although can't remember where.

Or those long tube skirts seem to be having a revival, although the white ones can be a bit see-through if you're not careful.

Or just hang on and wait for the Lila Moss effect to kick in (although Lila is very lovely but not her mother and times are different now.)

But only if you're interested of course - can't believe this needs repeating but it appears that it does.

Tempting for what? It’s not like it’s a stunning put-down that has never been done before that will make everyone rethink their life choices. It just makes people roll their eyes and scroll on.

That's fine. It's just mildly enjoyable occasionally to roll one's own eyes and ask why anyone cares? I don't do it very often.

I think last time was when someone asked "what are people in London wearing?" which was a hilariously silly question and a lot of people pointed out.

I'll leave you to it. I joined this thread originally to add my entirely pointless pennyworth to say all white clothes look weird on everyone all of the time. But I know nothing about fashion so ignore me !

RoachFish · 15/04/2024 14:11

Since you asked, yes, those types of jeans are a big no no and have been for a couple of years. They are way too tight. You do have a great figure though but some white (or off-white) cropped slim fits would feel much more current and it's still not a wide leg or boyfriend jeans etc.

Nicetobenice7 · 15/04/2024 14:18

I love my white skinny’s in the better weather worn with baby blur RL shirt looks so nice and white skinny’s are in

FrannieGallops · 15/04/2024 14:26

Obviously you can wear whatever the heck you want, but if you’re asking if they’re dated - yes, they definitely are. They look really tight.

I have several pairs of the M&S jeans, including a white ‘mom’ pair. They’re a looser fit and much more flattering and more on trend.

Moveoverdarlin · 15/04/2024 14:31

They look too small. A size up would look miles better. From your knee down it looks painfully tight.
