I've just found a lovely pair of
Fit really well
None see through
Absolutely love them
Apparently they aren't in fashion tho which is making me question them
Are they that bad ?
I was thinking with sandals and a tee in summer
Just a basic outfit

You love them, wear them.

Unless you have an unpredictable menstrual cycle.

pritchartcc · 12/04/2024 14:17

This is the jeans
I mean they are quite figure hugging but I think I like them

I think they look very leggings-ish, and not sure they work with a tucked-in shirt, but you should go for it if you like them. My aesthetic is very different to yours. You're the best judge.

pritchartcc · 12/04/2024 14:22

I wouldn't wear them with this top
I just quickly tried them on and kept the top on

They look good on you, OP.

I've been considering getting some for summer but I have a mud magnet of a dog.

Fair enough!

pritchartcc · 12/04/2024 14:25

I find jean shopping so hard
I wouldn't mind a white slim pair but I've tried so many on and they just flare out at the bottom
I think unless you are a size 6 then they don't sit right at the ankles

I think they look really good on you OP, and they also look nice with the shirt you're wearing.

LoobyDop · 12/04/2024 14:29

I think they’re a bit sprayed-on looking, tbh. I used to have a pair like that, and always ended up taking them off and wearing something else because they just didn’t feel right- and that was when I was wearing blue skinnies all the time. I have some now that are cropped and quite baggy- I think Uniqlo boyfriend cut?- and I love them. They make me feel I should sing “wake me up before you go-go”, but imho that isn’t a negative.

Smallyeti · 12/04/2024 14:38

Are they jeans or jeggings. They look like jeggings in your pic. I love white jeans especially with navy, tan, charcoal tops. If they sit you and you like them I’d go for it. I honestly think they’re classic and are never in or out. Either way, stuff that and just wear them. I’d last 10 mins before spilling something on them, sitting on something that marks them etc. I’m not sure about the ones in your pic as they look skin tight/jeggingy.

FastFood · 12/04/2024 14:39

Who cares OP, wear whatever you want, no one will even notice!
I think with the right styling, they can look very lovely.
Check Pinterest, there are plenty of very cute minimalist looks.

I would wear white jeans anytime, but it's not compatible with my lifestyle, way too risky!

catin8oots · 12/04/2024 14:43

Ask Liz Hurley

WhatFlavourIsIt · 12/04/2024 14:46

I've never stopped wearing skinny jeans. I live in them. They're comfy, and they suit me. Go with whatever makes you feel good. Now it's spring we'll see them everywhere. I read in the paper that skinnies are back, they never went away despite 'fashion' telling us we should be dressing like 80' s kids TV presenters in those ridiculous baggy jeans.

lindyloo57 · 12/04/2024 16:08

I don't suit wide or baggie jeans too, I have a pair of m&s super skinny jeans which fit like yours, that I don't wear so much now, I do like the m&s lily jeans still skinny but not so tight on the legs, or you could try the senna a straight style still on the slim fit , I have both pairs and they do them in white.

pritchartcc · 12/04/2024 13:09

@TunaCrunchy I don't like the wide leg trend either
I don't suit baggy either
I've got a small frame and anything baggy makes me look ill

I think it depends how you style things

smellslikecinnamon · 12/04/2024 18:15

@Neverpostagain

Wtf? Do people have a heyday? Is that the same as a sell by date? Are you willing to name someone who looks 'tragic'?
You are being obtuse. I am referring to people who rigidly wear what they wore when they felt at their peak. So you get men in 1980s garb and women wiry makeup they wore in the 1980 that looks peculiar now. Especially when it's now being rocked by someone in their 60/70s

Are they allowed to? Hell yes. Is this what most people want for themselves? No. Because it looks dated and out of keeping with today.
So men in their 60s wearing brown suits with wide ties and lapels and a flared leg wouldn't be something most people would aspire to. If someone is doing it with intention then rock on.

bows101 · 12/04/2024 18:17

If you have the figure and you think they suit you: go for it!
It doesn't matter if it's 'in' or not, if they fit well and look good.

BreakfastOfWaffles · 12/04/2024 18:25

I have worn white jeans in the summer for years. They fit well with my wardrobe. I am a size 12 and find M&S Sienna to be very good. Slim leg with a bit of stretch in them.

GettingStuffed · 12/04/2024 21:09

As long as you're tall, thin and can keep them clean for more than 5 seconds go for it

earlyretirement · 12/04/2024 21:41

catin8oots · 12/04/2024 14:43

Ask Liz Hurley

As soon as I read the thread title I thought Liz Hurley 😂

EarringsandLipstick · 12/04/2024 21:52

They fit really well OP. You said you won't wear the top, and tucked in doesn't work either. The belt isn't great with them.

But definitely go for them.

I had a pair of skinny white jeans last summer. I loved them initially; however I found that throughout the day every crease showed up, and if it was a warm day & my body temp had heated up, they became v unforgiving!

I got rid of them quite quickly, I'll go for a straight leg / cigarette style white jean this summer I hope. I think white jeans are always lovely in summer.

Felicityshoelace · 12/04/2024 22:07

Everyone yesterday when I was out was wearing wide leg jeans. Just be different if they suit you, don't follow the herd. Be yourself and love what you wear. I saw a larger lady wearing leopard print skinny jeans and they looked great.

Felicityshoelace · 12/04/2024 22:13

pritchartcc · 12/04/2024 14:17

You have a great figure, they look great!

minthybobs · 12/04/2024 22:17

smellslikecinnamon · 12/04/2024 12:53

Fashion isn't dictated by MN but there are trends. Whether you choose to follow them or not is p to you but most people don't like looking dated
That whole thing where women in particular but also some male celebrities who wear what was cool during their heyday that makes them look a bit tragic is a thing most people want to avoid.

Conversely, people wearing what’s “in” just because it’s currently trending when its unflattering and makes them look ridiculous is just as “tragic”.

People look their best when they choose clothes that suit their figure and build, far more flattering

SharpLily · 12/04/2024 22:31

I wouldn't wear them, they would look awful on me. On the other hand my friend wears them all the time and they look perfect on her. I think it's more about wearing what suits you and what you like. When you know you look good, you feel good and trying to follow fast-moving trends all the time is a mug's game by the time you're an adult.
