I've just found a lovely pair of
Fit really well
None see through
Absolutely love them
Apparently they aren't in fashion tho which is making me question them
Are they that bad ?
I was thinking with sandals and a tee in summer
Just a basic outfit

You have a lovely figure but to me they do look dated, it’s the tightness on the calves, they just don’t look very current.

WhatNext24 · 12/04/2024 22:41

I think they are an elegant classic. If they suit you, go for it.

Yearendjoy · 12/04/2024 22:57

I agree. They do look dated but if that doesn't bother you then go for it.

Divebar2021 · 12/04/2024 23:12

I have been on a few night outs and the trousers look like a uniform for middle aged women

Well god forbid middle aged women should wear something. Perhaps they’re enjoying the change after relentless conformity of skinny jeans for years and years.

AnnaDomini · 13/04/2024 07:35

I'm middle aged and wear what I like. Not wide trousers because I think they're hideous on me.

@pritchartcc , you love the jeans and they suit you and fit well. You don't have to wear them a lot this summer. I have jeans from 20 years ago that I still wear.
White jeans are a wardrobe basic in France, aren't they.

Posypointshoes · 13/04/2024 07:48

I hate the fact that everyone seems to be wearing exactly the same outfits all the time now, I think we’ve lost our identity style wise a bit! But if that’s what makes people happy I say go for it, similarly if you like these jeans wear them! If you feel good in them and think you’ll get a lot of wear out of them keep them!

mikado1 · 13/04/2024 08:01

I work with about 50 women, majority of their 20s and 30s. I see every kind of jeans, skinny, wide leg, cropped, flared on every kind of body. I am older than them at 40+ and in my skinnies still. Also like wideleg trousers but don't have jeans. I love white jeans, they look so fresh. Mine are cropped so slightly wide at the calf, which is the right fit for me. Enjoy them OP, you haveagreat figure! PS I would wear a tan belt or none.

Hiker50 · 13/04/2024 08:02

They sound lovely.

BobnLen · 13/04/2024 08:07

They look nice OP, just need a bit less rainy weather now to wear them, though it has been nice for the last couple of days, they won't look good with brown rain splotches up the back😀

Hoolihan · 13/04/2024 08:15

Great figure OP but they look really tight, especially around the knee, and really dated

Janetime · 13/04/2024 08:20

I like them, although I think yours are very tight round the lower leg and knee, and I like the way you styled them, not sure I believe it’s just the top you had on due to the matching belt 😂

I have a few pairs, I wear them on holiday and in the summer if socialising,

everyone should wear what they like, not be dictated to by fashion. I’m one hundred percent confident those being negative saying oh dated or don’t like the shirt are no shining examples themselves.

Beefcurtains79 · 13/04/2024 08:29

They are way too sprayed on looking, like jeggings. Sorry OP I think they look really 2015.

CharlotteSometimes1 · 13/04/2024 08:29

From the photo I’d say no. Obviously you should wear what you like, but you did ask. I think the tightness in the lower leg looks dated.

W0rkerBee · 13/04/2024 08:31

I agree with a pp, if they are spray on skinny, avoid, if there's a bit of space around the ankle, go ahead.

Cheesyfootballs01 · 13/04/2024 08:35

I think you have a great figure OP but I agree that they are a bit too ‘spray on’ around the knee and calves and do look a bit dated.

I think you would look great in a looser straight leg.

HappyMe6 · 13/04/2024 08:40

I love them wear them every summer got three pairs lol you are same height as me op I certainly wouldn’t stop wearing them even if went out of fashion I have the confidence to wear what ever I feel comfy in.

Beefcurtains79 · 13/04/2024 08:49

They also look extremely uncomfortable, even if they aren’t. They look try-hard tight.

LaCerbiatta · 13/04/2024 08:51

Growlybear83 · 12/04/2024 13:16

Why does it matter if they are supposedly in fashion or not? If you like the jeans and they fit well, buy them.

This is style and beauty and the op is asking for style / fashion advice. Good for you that you don't care about fashion, the op, as many others, does and posted in the right topic, so please just stop boring everyone with the pointless advice.

SallyWD · 13/04/2024 08:54

Honestly, who gives a about fashion?! Anyway, I think these days, anything goes. I work at a uni and students seems to wear whatever the hell they want. I don't believe there are rigid rules anymore. If you want to wear skinny white jeans you'll look and feel great.

NeedWineNow · 13/04/2024 09:00

Personally OP I agree with others that they do look a bit sprayed on. I think a slightly looser slim fit might be better.

I love white jeans in the summer. Mine are a pair of boyfriend style that I got in Gap years ago. I wear them rolled up at the ankle with Converse or flat sandals and a t-shirt. Easy dressing.

Mog65 · 13/04/2024 09:05

You should get them and wear them. Manky dogs and kids might restrict your time wearing them 😂 but get them. I like them to. 🥰

Aswellisnotoneword · 13/04/2024 09:11

I also think they're a bit tight on you to look good/current.

smellslikecinnamon · 13/04/2024 10:17

Style and Beauty never ceases to entertain
"Don't follow fashion. It makes you a sheep"
"Wear outdated clothes and look like something completely outdated if you like it"

Kinds of makes me wonder why these people are in S&B

Fashion trends are relevant to style. Slavishly following a trend? No. Understanding what is in fashion and wearing versions that suit you whilst staying within the realms of current trends? Yes. This is what being stylish is.
Wearing stuff you felt great in when you were 28 now that you are 50 that not only is completely out of fashion and no longer even suits you? Yeah. That's not so good. Frosted pale blue eyeshadow and MC Hammer pants are any going to win you any styles points atm no matter how much you love them. Unless you are head to toe Rick Owens or into ironic fashion

DottyLottieLou · 15/04/2024 08:02

If you love them, wear them. If they suit you you'll look and feel good whatever daft fashion trend is in. Create your own style not someone else's.

sassyclassyandsmartassy · 15/04/2024 08:40

Does anyone really give a shit about fashion? I’ve never really understood that whole thing… I mean who decides what is or isn’t in fashion?

As a short girl with a long body, short legs and penchant to be a little wide very rarely does any fashion trend suit me, as such I have always just worn what’s comfortable and makes me look okay! I just don’t have the time to worry about all the hype of different trends and I would rather spend my money on things I can comfortably wear time and again TBH.

So if they look great and you love them, wear them!
